13. Chapter 13

(Harry’s POV)

I’m gonna kill Kate. My date with Stella had been going perfectly and I felt like we were finally connecting. I had only gone on a couple of dates with Kate and it was months ago. Plus, I never saw a future with Kate the way that I saw a future with Stella.

I was too afraid to let go of Stella’s hand for fear that she would get out of the car whenever we were stopped at a stoplight. She still seemed confused about everything that just happened so I decided not to say anything quite yet so I didn’t overwhelm her.

We arrived at my hotel and I pulled her out of the car behind me. Luckily we went in through the back door so no paparazzi was there to bother us. We continued to stand in silence as we stepped in the elevator. We got off on my floor and walked past the other boys room where their door was open. I tried to walk by quickly without them seeing us but they spotted us anyways.

“HARRY!” Louis came out shouting. “I see you brought the girl home!” He turned to look at Stella and I could see the look of confusion on his face as he tried to figure out what was wrong. “Well…maybe I’ll just leave you two alone then.” I started to walk away but looked back to see Louis watching us walking down the hall and he mouthed to me that we would be talking later.

I opened my door and led Stella to a seat and got her a cup of water.

(Stella’s POV)

Everything had happened so fast and without me even realizing it I was in Harry’s hotel room. A thought came to me about how many girls would kill to be in my position but that thought went away quickly when I remembered what Kate had said at dinner.

I took a sip of my water trying to figure out what to say or where to begin.

“Well…this is awkward.”

Harry laughed once at my honesty and then sat down on his bed across from my chair. He looked defeated and my heart melted a little bit.

“Stella, Kate doesn’t mean anything to me.”

“You don’t have to defend anything, we’ve only gone on one date. I don’t care who she is to be honest. The thing is that she brings up a good point. You’ll leave Chicago and I’ll just be that girl you went on a date and had a good dinner conversation with.”

Harry shook his head in disagreement as he started speaking, “How do you know that this is how it would be though? You need to give me a chance first.”

I didn’t know what to say. Harry was practically begging me to give him another chance but I wasn’t sure if emotionally I could handle this. Part of me wanted to give him that chance though.

I stood up and started walking to the door so that I could go in the hallway and think to myself for a few minutes but Harry must have taken it as I was leaving. I had just reached the door when Harry caught up to me and spun me around so that my back was to the door. He was just a couple inches away from my face and put his hands on my shoulder as he spoke.

“Stella just one more chance. Please.”

My breathing hitched as Harry stared directly into my eyes. Harry started to lean down and he hesitated a second when his mouth was an inch away. He finally closed the distance and then his lips were on mine. One second my hands were at my side and then the next they were in his hair. Our lips moved together for a couple seconds before he slowly pulled away from me.

My breathing was embarrassingly loud as I whispered, “Well jeez, if I knew you kissed that well I would have agreed to a second chance an hour ago.”

Harry let out a small laugh before leaning back down to kiss me again.
