15. Chapter 15

Harry’s POV:

The next morning, she fluttered her eyes and yawned, trying to make herself wake up. I had already been awake, worried, so I was sitting on the edge of her bed, running my hands through my curly locks. Sun was streaming in through the window and the sunlight was in her eyes. She got up and rubbed her eyes. She noticed I was there and mumbled, “Good morning”.

“Hello”, I said, staring at her.

She smiled at me and we maintained eye contact for a few seconds until she asked, “Any particular reason you’re here…?”

“What happened yesterday?” I asked, worried.

She gasped, seemingly in shock, and I stared at her curiously. We sat silently, with her trying to remember the events of the past day.

“Melanie came yesterday”, she said with an empty expression on her face, staring off into the distance.

I started to panic internally, remembering the text message.

“What did she do? Are you hurt?” I asked, immediately coming back to her side to check if she was okay.

“Yeah, I’m fine” she said.

I didn’t believe her. She always did this thing where she would furrow her eyebrows when she was stressed out, worried or thinking. She was doing that now, so I could tell that something was wrong with her.

“Tell me. What’s wrong?” I urged.

“Harold’s coming” she said, staring past me into the distance, once again.

“What’s the problem with that?” I asked, confused.

“Melanie said he was mad”.

“About what?”

She came closer to me, so I pulled her onto my lap and held her hand.

“He can’t do anything” I said.

“How are you so sure?” she asked.

I could tell there was a sparkle in her eyes, and she was holding back her tears.

Because I love you, I thought to myself, too afraid to say it aloud. Too afraid of the possibility that she may not love me back.

“I just know” I said, smiling at her. She smiled back and hugged me tightly. I pretended that I couldn’t breathe, causing her to hold me tighter.

I took the opportunity to lift her into my arms, bridal style, and carry her to the living room. Tahlia was gone, probably at work, so my plans would work out perfectly. I was going to cook her breakfast and take her to Louis’ apartment for a day with the boys. I knew we both needed a day to get our mind off of all the stress.

I dropped her onto the couch, earning a grunt from her, and I said, “Get ready!”

“For what?”

“I’m going to cook us breakfast and then we are going to spend the day with the boys”.

She stared at me, squinting her eyes, so I asked, “What?”

“Why would you bring me out of bed to the living room and tell me to get ready when all of my stuff is in my room?” she said quickly, not stopping for a breath.

I just laughed and she rolled her eyes, getting up to get ready.

“You have issues!” she yelled, her voice becoming faint as she became distant.

After eating the pancakes I made for the both of us, and her pretending not to like them, we made our way to Louis’ flat. The entire elevator ride she had been bouncing up and down, having the sudden urge to pee, so she shoved past Louis and made her way to the bathroom.

“Woah there!” he said, grabbing Jasmine by the shoulders.

“Louis, let go, I need to pee!” she said, bouncing. “Harry, help me!”

I laughed to myself and watched them bicker. Louis seemed to be winning until Jasmine brought her knees up to nudge him in the private area. I gasped, watching Louis groan, covering his private area and falling to the floor. Jasmine ran away laughing, rushing off to the bathroom. I went to Louis’ side, asking him if he was okay, but he was now in the fetal position on the floor.

There was a knock on the door and Liam, Zayn and Niall walked in.

Liam looked at Louis on the floor and asked, “What happened?”

Louis managed to mutter, “Jasmine, knee, balls”.

Niall burst into laughter, while Liam and Zayn laughed and shook their heads. Jasmine stepped out of the bathroom and said, “Hi, boys!”

She went to each of the boys, hugging them and asked, “So what are we going to do today?”

The boys shrugged their soldiers until Jasmine decided to play a game named Taboo. She explained the rules and it seemed easy enough. We split into teams. I was with Jasmine, Niall with Louis, and Liam with Zayn. Jasmine dragged me to our side and said, “We have to win, okay?”

“What? But, I’ve never played before!” I exclaimed.

“You’ll be fine”, she said, giving me a peck on the lips. She laughed, and announced in a booming voice, “Let the games begin!”

An hour later, Jasmine and I were winning by a longshot. The boys were complaining.

“We’re bored!” Louis said.

“Yeah, and I’m hungry” Niall complained.

“Oh, shut up, Niall, you’re always hungry. We just ate lunch! Louis, you’re just mad that we’re winning” she said with a triumphant tone.

“You’ve played this game before!” Liam said.

“Fine, do you want to switch teams?” she asked, rolling their eyes.

“Yes, please!” Zayn exclaimed, earning a sarcastic gasp from Liam.

“Fine, we’ll switch teams”.

“Why?” I asked.

She turned around to face me and said, “Give the losers a chance”.

We were about to decide teams when the doorbell rang.

“It’s probably the pizza man” Niall said, getting up to get the door.

“You ordered pizza again?!” Jasmine asked.

“I told you I was hungry!” he said from a room away.

We continued arguing over what the teams should be when we heard Niall yelling from the front door. We heard him saying, “You need to leave, now. Don’t make me call security”.

I looked at the other boys, assuming that it was just a fan, and said, “I’ll help him”.

I got to the front door only to find Melanie standing in front of me. Her hand was on her hip as she watched Niall impatiently.

“I need to talk to Jasmine now” she demanded.

“Because, what?” I asked, defensively.

“I just need to” she said, her impatience growing.

“No, you can’t see her” I said defensively.

“Oh, so you speak for her now?”

“What’s going on?” a voice asked.

Jasmine was now in the living room with Niall, Melanie and I, and the boys were behind her.

“Nothing” I said. “Melanie was just leaving”.

“No, I wasn’t” she said, rolling her eyes.

Now, all the boys were yelling at her, and Melanie was just yelling back. The bickering continued until Jasmine interrupted us saying, “You want to talk? Then, let’s talk”.

She grabbed her purse and shoved past Melanie, going through the front door. Melanie, shocked, was still standing with the boys and I in the living room.

“Are you coming or what?” Jasmine asked.

Melanie looked at me and the boys, smirked, and then followed Jasmine out of Louis’ flat.
