Cared enough to ask if she was okay.

13. Chapter 13

Jasmine’s POV:

*TEXT FROM HARRY: Babe, we need to talk… xx*

My eyes darted to Tahlia’s and I dropped my phone on the floor.

“What? What happened?” she asked, reaching down to get my phone.

She read the message and said, “So?”

“So?!” I yelled, eyes widening. “He wants to break up with me and we haven’t been together for more than a day! What did I do? Oh my gosh, what’s happening? I’m going to throw up, I can’t feel my fingers and my head hurts and-”

“Calm your tits, woman. He’s not going to break up with you” she said, attempting to assure me.

“How do you know? Whenever somebody says we need to talk, it usually means something horrible!” I was now panicking, my voice rising.

“Just text him back!” she said, shoving the phone into my hands.

“I can’t, I’m scared” I said, pushing the phone away.

“Fine, but you’re going to talk to him tomorrow” she said.

“Maybe, maybe not” I said in a hushed tone.

She glared at me, and I gave in. Tahlia wouldn’t let me off that easily. Eventually, we both went to bed, but I didn’t fall asleep until 3 in the morning. I was thinking too much, and I was scared.

The next day, I woke up terrified. I didn’t want to get out of bed. Turning over to look at the clock, I saw that it was only 8. I decided that I would get up in 2 hours, so I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep again. An hour later, I woke up to someone shaking me. Assuming it was Tahlia, I swung my hand back as an attempt to make her leave. I heard a husky voice and, realizing who it was, immediately sat up and turned to face him.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” I said, trying to keep a straight face.

“Good morning to you, too” he said, rubbing the side of his head.

“Does it hurt?” I asked reaching over to check his head.

He shook his head saying no and our eyes locked. My hand was still in his curls from trying to see where I hit him, and he held my right hand, my fingers perfectly fitting the spaces between his.

“Hi” he said, with his signature grin.

I couldn’t breathe. In that moment, I remembered what he had texted me and I panicked. Just as he was about to lean in and kiss me, I pulled away. He had a confused look on his face, but I ignored it and left my room. I went to the kitchen to see Tahlia cooking breakfast. She hadn’t seen me yet, so when I was behind her she turned around and shrieked.

“Did you let him in?” I said in a hushed voice, not wanting Harry to hear me.

“Why would you do that?!” I asked, talking even lower because I could hear Harry’s footsteps getting closer.

“Just talk to him. Look, he’s coming! He’s not going to break up with you, I promise!”

Harry’s POV:

I walked into the kitchen to see Jasmine and Tahlia whispering to each other.

“I don’t understand what’s happening…” I said, coming up behind Jasmine and turning her around to face me.

Startled, she screamed and Tahlia facepalmed.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing, Nothing at all” she said immediately after.

“She thinks you’re breaking up with her!” Tahlia yelled, now leaving the kitchen.

Jasmine’s eyes widened and she turned to face me.

“What? Why?” I asked, surprised.

“Well… What did you mean when you said we needed to talk?”

I thought back to yesterday. After I had left Roger’s office, I had made it clear to myself that I would still be with Jasmine. I couldn’t sleep last night. I was thinking of ways for me and Jasmine to stay together, and I was thinking about who would send the text message. I wasn’t going to tell her about the text message; that would only freak her out even more. I would keep it to myself until I was certain about who was sending me the text messages.

“I’m not going breaking up with you” I said smiling. I could almost see the worry drain from her eyes as soon as I said that.

“Then why do we need to talk?” she asked, confused.

“Roger said we couldn’t be together”.

Immediately, she gasped and said, “So, you are breaking up with me?”.

“No! But, I have an idea” I said. I stepped closer to her, and put my arms around her waist.

“Which would be?” She said, smirking at my cheekiness.

“We just have to be careful and not let anybody see us. It’ll work”.

“What if we get caught?” she asked.

Just was I was about to respond, there was a parade of knocks on the front door and Tahlia got up to get it. I walked into the living room to find Zayn, Louis, Niall, and Liam. They burst in and started bombarding me with questions. When Jasmine entered the room, Zayn lifted her over his shoulders, causing me to stiffen up with jealousy. But, she began to flail her arms and legs and was commanding Zayn to put her down, which calmed me down.

Zayn let her down and she went to my side. My arms found its way around her shoulder and Tahlia cooed. The boys’ eyes lifted up with joy, realizing what was happening, and Zayn shouted, “Are the lovebirds actually lovebirds now?!”

They knew that I had something planned yesterday, but they didn’t know that I was going to make it official with her. Jasmine bit her lip and nodded, and I kissed her on the head. The boys all jumped with cheer and started jumping around Tahlia whose face was red; she was laughing too much that she couldn’t breathe.

After we had all calmed down and sat on the couches, Liam asked, “What happened with the Roger situation?”

I had talked to the boys the night before about what happened, but I hadn’t finalized my “plan” until this morning. I told them what I had planned to do, and they all nodded in agreement.

“We can’t tell anyone” I asserted. “We only tell people we need to tell”.

We will make this work, I thought.

Eventually, the boys left and Tahlia was called to go to work. I was scrolling through my phone, replying to some fans, and Jasmine was on her laptop.

“What are you doing on there?” I asked, peering over to see her laptop screen.

“Nothing, really”.

I took the laptop off her lap and put it on the coffee table in front of us. I sat on the floor and she sat next to me.

“Let’s take pictures!” I said.

“Okay, as long as you don’t drop my laptop off of the Eiffel Tower”, she said smirking and I pinched her cheeks.

“Ow, stop it!” she said rubbing her cheeks overdramatically. “You know I don’t like it when you do that!”

I apologized to her and kissed both of her cheeks, causing them to turn red with my touch.

Just as I was about to take a picture, a box popped up signaling a skype call.

“Oh my gosh, It’s my mom” she said. “What do I do?”

“Accept it!”

“Am I allowed to tell her about us?” she asked.

“Of course, she’s family! Pick up, babe”.

She shook her head no, furiously, but I ignored her and picked up the call.

Jasmine’s POV:

“Hi, Mom” I said, nervous.

I had been texting her since I arrived, and called her every once in a while, but it was weird seeing her on my computer screen. I slid my hand across the floor to find Harry’s, knowing that my mother couldn’t see us. He squeezed my hand, reassuring me, and I smiled.

“Hi, sweetie. Who is this handsome man?” she said, causing me to blush.

“Uhm, this is my boyfriend” I said. I was biting my tongue, hoping that my Mom wouldn’t yell at me in front of Harry.

“Hello” Harry said, unaware of the tension between my mother and I.

“Oh. Hello”, she said bluntly. “You know you’re leaving in September, right?”

I rolled my eyes, covering my face to make sure that she didn’t see me.

“Yes, I know”

“Mhm.Well, I’ll see you in September”.

The screen went black, and I ran both of my hands through my hair.

“Well, that went well” I said sarcastically.

“She’ll come around” Harry said.

He pulled me in for a hug, and I sat in thought. I was secretly hoping that my mother wasn’t mad at me. She had mentioned September for a reason; she didn’t expect me and Harry to last until then. I wanted to prove her wrong. Harry tugged my arm, pulling me back into reality. He grinned at me and we started to take pictures on my laptop. After taking about 20 pictures, we ordered takeout for dinner. We spent the entire time talking to each other. We had a very relaxing day, which was extremely needed.

At around 9, Harry left, wishing me a good night, and I was home alone. Tahlia would be coming home later on in the night, so I was going to catch up on my sleep. Just as I had finished getting ready for bed, there was a knock on the door. Thinking it was Tahlia, I opened it, only to be disappointed.

“Miss me?”
