Don't Sleep

Katniss Everdeen is impossible to kill and Colranius Snow is getting more and more frustrated and then the idea comes to him. He needs Freddy Krueger.

A Nightmare on Elm Street crosses over with The Hunger Games for the Crossover Competition.

1. Kill Her

President Coloranius Snow sat in his office and stared at the huge monitor on the wall. Highlights from yesterday in the 74th Hunger Games started to play. Katniss, the girl on fire, flashed on to the screen. To say he was unhappy was an understatement. No matter how hard he tried, it seemed this girl could not be killed. How was this possible? He had put her in the middle of a forest fire and got her stung by thousands of tracker jackers, for God's sake. He was running out of options.   Slowly, he stood up and went to turn off the monitor. What else could he do? She needed to be gotten rid of one way or another. Grabbing the monitor's remote off the table he paused for a second and watched the the clip of the sleeping Katniss Everdeen. Of course. How had he not thought of this before. Looking slightly pleased with himself, he picked up the phone and rang his assistant.   "Please can you get me a meeting with Freddy Krueger. Yes, the Freddy Krueger."

"So, Mr Krueger, as I'm sure you are aware the girl from District 12, one Miss Katniss Everdeen, is still alive," Snow said as he sat opposite Krueger and rested his hands on the solid oak desk. "This does not please me."

Freddy Krueger was all too aware of this. He loved the Hunger Games. Ever since those horrible toddlers had gotten him burned alive, he had always looked forward to watching more of their kind getting hurt by the ones that were more powerful than them. Just the way he did. For so long he had wanted to get into one of the tributes' heads and make the experience so much more enjoyable for the people watching in the Districts, but every year they put some forcefield around the arena making it impossible for his soul to get through.

"Yeah and what's that got to do with me?" he asked the President. He had always liked Colranius Snow, and although he didn't want to show it, was extremely nervous talking to him.

"That's just what I was about to get to," Snow answered. He leaned back in his chair and ran his aged hands through his mass of white hair, "I need you to go into her head. Kill her."

Krueger laughed. It was a dream come true. "President Snow, it will be my pleasure."
