1. They Don’t Know About Us (Harry)

I sat in the big black studio chairs with Zayn, Liam, and Niall, as we all waited for Harry. “Maybe I should call him,” I suggested, panic laced in my words. We were all worried about Harry, or at least I was; he was never late for studio sessions. “Lou,” Liam rested a hand on my shoulder blade. “Calm down, yeah? I’m sure Harry’s fine. If you want to call him, go ahead…but try to take a few deep breaths first.” Niall snickered and whispered something to Zayn, who laughed right along with him. Liam shot them a glare. “What’s so funny guys?” Niall turned bright red, and Zayn looked at his hands in his lap, both of them trying to stop laughing. “N-nothing,” Niall breathed out. “That’s what I thought,” Liam told him. Then he turned back to me. Zayn and Niall always made fun of me because of how much I cared for Harry. I mean, I know sometimes it was a bit much, but I loved harry, and they just didn’t understand that. Liam did. “Just ignore them,” he whispered. “I’ll just text him.” I decided, and Liam nodded in approval. I began to type out a message, trying not to sound too worried, but still caring. Harry and I had an interesting relationship. We were best friends. He always got me, understood my moods, interpreted my thoughts, and he was always there to help me. But Harry had always been something more to me. I had never felt that way about anyone else, and apparently Harry felt the same way. It started with us simply saying “Love you!” in nothing more than a friendly manner. But I knew it was more. I eventually told Harry that I really did love him, and he kissed me in response. That was five months ago. Our relationship evolved every day, into something truly special, like nothing I had ever experienced. I knew I loved him, and he always told me how much he loved me. We had decided in the beginning to wait to tell anyone, even the boys, because we weren’t quite sure what we were. We were waiting until we could define it in words to tell them, but for now, we just were. In the middle of typing my text to Harry, the door creaked slowly open, and his adorable mop of curls poked through the door. I smiled, tucking my phone into my pocket. “Hey guys,” Harry blushed. “I’m so sorry I’m late. But I have an excuse, I swear.” He glanced at me for a brief second, only to turn his gaze to the studio employee who was working with us. “I’m sure we’d all love to hear it, Harry,” she said, rolling her eyes at him. Damn, she was sassy! “I uh,” Harry mumbled, looking at his converse-clad feet, obviously uncomfortable. “I was working on a song. To show you guys?” “Oh,” she replied looking a little guilty. “You wanna show us?” She asked, gesturing her head towards the recording box. Harry smiled and nodded, fully stepping into the studio, carrying a well loved piece of binder paper. He walked in to the recording booth, plopping onto one of the five stools set up for us. The studio manager flicked on the switch from the outside so we could hear Harry, and he slipped on the big headphones inside. “Whenever you’re ready, Harry.” He cleared his throat, and pulled his stool over to the keyboard inside the recording box. Harry plunged his long fingers onto the keyboard, eyebrows furrowed in concentration, his eyes wandering over the paper he’d brought with him. A tune began to flow through the room, very light and happy. Harry began to sing. I loved hearing his voice; it made me feel so warm inside, and I got this overwhelming need to kiss him. “People say we shouldn’t be together, too young to know about forever. I say they don’t know what their talk-talk-talkin’ about. ‘Cause this love is only gettin’ stronger, I don’t wanna wait any longer. I just wanna tell the world that you’re mine, girl.” Harry smiled to himself, as he moved into the chorus. “They don’t know about the things we do, they don’t know about the ‘I love you’s. But I bet you if they only knew, they would just be jealous of us.” Harry looked up, and looked right into my eyes, and I blushed, realizing this song was about me. “They don’t know about the up all nights, they don’t know I’ve waited all my life just to find a love that feels this right. Baby, they don’t know about, they don’t know about us.” The song continued, and I grew warm inside with each lyric Harry belted flawlessly. When he was done, he winked at me and said, “So? For Take Me Home? I know it needs work, but…” He trailed off. We all smiled really big and glanced at each other. “Harry,” I said, gazing into his eyes. “I think we found our final song.” Harry’s eyes lit up, and he flew out of the recording box and into our studio. Harry walked over to me, never breaking eye contact, leaning down over my body. And he kissed me.
