Teleported away

The 74th Hunger Games are about to begin, but Valkyrie doesn't know that yet. Only that Fletcher has teleported her somewhere very odd.
(Mix of Hunger Games and childhood favorite Skulduggery Pleasant. Set while Valkyrie and Fletcher are still together.)

1. Coffee in Athens

--Sum up of Skulduggery Pleasant for those who have not read it--

Valkyrie is 16, magical and a skeleton detective's (Skulduggery Pleasant) assistant. She lives a double life, as Valkyrie by day, while her magical reflection goes to school for her, then Stephanie at home to her family. She is very good at magic and karate-type-stuff.

She is going out with Fletcher (only teleporter in the world, who also has huge hair), but she is the boss in their relationship. Ghastly is a friend, a taylor, who can also Box.

Basically, there's a load of magic and sarcasm. I highly recommend them.

--Hope that helped--

Skulduggery pulled to a stop outside Valkyrie's house, smiling as he smoothly turned the Bentley's engine off. Well, as much as he could smile, with a skull for a head.

"I love this car," he sighed, as they got out.

"You never stop telling me about it," Valkyrie replied, as they headed round the back of her house. It was far easier than knocking on the front door, telling her parents why she was not upstairs doing her homework, then persuading them that she had not climbed out the window.

Skulduggery calmly flew up to her open window, still managing to keep his suit spotless and unruffled. "How would you get around without it?" Valkyrie pushed the air from underneath her palms, propelling herself up to the window, then pulling herself inside. It was less graceful than Skulduggery, but he sulked if she did anything better than him.

"Fletcher," she replied smugly, while nodding to her reflection, who was sitting at her desk doing some homework. The reflection smiled, nodding back, before returning to it's work.

"Please, I have much more style than him. Appearing from thin air is far less elegant than arriving in a Bentley."

"You just don't want to admit that he's cooler than you." Valkyrie pulled on some jeans and a t-shirt, leaving her black clothes crumpled on the floor. She gestured for her reflection to get up, so that it could go back into the mirror, and Valkyrie could continue with her life.

"You're breaking my heart over here, you know that?" He kindly averted his eyes as Valkyrie changed, playing with a ball of fire in his fingertips.

"You don't have a heart, remember?"

"No, I conveniently forgot that I am merely a bag of bones brought together by magic. Remember, Ghastly's invited us round for dinner tonight, so I'll pick you up at 8." Valkyrie grinned. Ghastly was a great cook, plus it meant that Tanith was probably invited, so she wouldn't have to listen to Skulduggery and Ghastly reminiscing about 'the good old days'.

He opened the window, giving her one last smile, before jumping out and gliding down to the garden below.

"How was your day?" her reflection asked, as it stood before the mirror, about to step in.

"Good, I guess," Valkyrie groaned, as she remembered that she had training with Tanith tomorrow. All the karate stuff was fun, but it tired the hell out of her. "Some guy was trying to break into the Sanctuary, but I think he was crazy. He kept saying it was for the future of badgers, so he wasn't completely sane." Logically, Valkyrie knew the reflection didn't know or care about any of this, but she liked talking to it. It was like a diary, but one that could reply.

As the reflection put one foot in the mirror, Fletcher appeared in front of her. He grinned at her, while his hair defied all gravity. "Hey Val!"

"I could have been changing!" She thumped him on the arm, regretting it a little as he winced and rubbed it. Sometimes she forgot how strong she was.

"Don't worry, I went outside and checked beforehand. Aren't you the tiniest bit glad to see me?"

"Course I am," she leaned forwards, giving him a small peck on the lips. "What did you want, anyway?"

"I just wondered if you wanted to get coffee?"

"Y'know, there are things called mobile phones. I could have just met you there."

"Not this one. Remember that great place in Athens?"

"Oh god, I love that coffee." Last time he'd brought it to her, as she'd run out of suncream, but she'd promised herself that next time she'd go.

"I know. That's why I'm taking you," he exaggerated the words, acting like she was either very stupid or very young.

"Great. Are you okay to stay a while longer?" Valkyrie asked the reflection, though she knew that it could not get tired.

It pulled out its leg from the mirror, resuming its place at the desk. "Yes, I can stay as long as you need. Have fun." It spoke emotionlessly, not really meaning the words.

But Valkyrie took it anyway, replying, "Thanks! I'll be back for dinner!"

Fletcher grabbed her hand, then they both disappeared.
