Summer Love *Complete*

It was the summer of 2011 and the warm sunlight was streaming through the car window. I groggily opened my eyes to see the family car pulling into our summer house in Australia.

"Arabella, we're here." my mother whispered, turning around in her seat.

"Start grabbing your bags out of the back." my father told my sister Jillian and I.

We were spending the season in our summer house this year. Our home was actually in Mullingar, West Meath Ireland. I didn't really want to come down here. I don't like the beach; mainly because I don't like to tan and I'm insecure about wearing my bathing suit around.

"Perk up, clover. Good luck is coming your way this year." My mother constantly tried to convince me that this year's summer would be better than all the rest, but I obviously didn't believe her. Just because we were some where else, doesn't mean that anything will be different.

7. Uh Oh

Blood, everywhere. Spilling across the floor and splattered on the walls. Everything, it was growing so dark; just slipping away. Then, Niall, leaning over me, an evil smirked plastered across his gorgeous face. His eyes seemed darker than usual, while blood dripped from his hair. He never broke our gaze as he lifted up his hand...with my heart in it. The last thing I saw was him staring me directly in the eye as he took a bite.

I woke up crying and screaming, hugging myself as thought it would protect me from the imaginary danger.

"Arabella, babe, are you okay." he woke up to hold me.

"Stay away!" I pushed at him. I opened my eyes to see the hurt expression he was wearing. "Niall, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it! It was just a night terror." I sat in his lap.

"You wanna talk about it?" he tapped my knee.

I inhaled deeply, and let it out in a huff.

"No thanks. I don't want to worry you, or dwell on it."

"Okay," he said a bit hesitantly, before he began rubbing circles in my back. I lay my head against his chest, feeling him breathe. He pushed back some of my hair, when we heard a loud  knock.

"Arabella? Are you okay?" my mother asked, turning the handle. "Why is the door locked? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE?" she started twisting the knob madly.

"Hide!" I whispered to Niall, pushing him into my closet. "She'll kill us both if she finds you here."

"But what if she tries to hurt you?" he asked worriedly.

"Stay put." I said with more confidence that I felt.

I unlocked the door and mom burst into the room. Her hair was frizzed and she was snarling like a wild animal. Her eyes were darting all over the room and she pushed me aside, slamming me into the molding of the door.

"What were you doing in here?" she growled.

"Sleeping?" I replied sarcastically.

"Well why were you screaming?"

"Night terrors..."

"Why was the door locked?" she kept on.

"Because I didn't want you to touch me." I told her harshly.

She glared at me as she moved my direction. I tried backing away but she already had a hold on my shoulder. She pressed into the muscle, making me fall to my knees in pain. She kneed my cheek, popping my jaw. The pop sent a burn that stretched into my brain. I lay on the floor when she kicked me in the stomach, leaving my breathless. I tried to speak, but they came out in soundless rasps.

"Please," I managed to utter, "please." She bent down at me and clawed at my face. Her nails dug into my skin like razors. A tear slid down my cheek, and I saw that it was red. I touched my forehead, and felt tiny gashes. Blood, spilling across the floor as she splattered it on the walls. Everything, it was growing so dark; just slipping away. Just as in my dream. I sobbed harder, each one racking my ribs, making them ache. A burst came from the closet. My mother had found Niall out. She grabbed something to strike him. My vision almost entire blurred, I stood up and tackled her to the ground. She hit the back of my head with whatever she had in hand. I was far too numb to have felt anything. Next thing I know, I'm being carried down somewhere. A blast of strikingly cold air hits my face, but I'm only holding onto consciousness by a thin thread.

"Please, don't go..." I felt a warm drop on my cheek.

"Go where?" I asked the voice.

With a weary laugh, I was slung lifelessly along.
