3. Made My Day

*Tessa's POV*

My dreadful alarm woke me up for work, Nemo just found his dad. Thank God I missed all the sad parts. Nemo really is a sad movie, if you think about it. It's about a little fish who gets pissed off at his dad, then he gets kidnapped and held hostage in a tank. Meanwhile, his dad is going nuts looking for his son while putting himself in life threatening situations. Then Nemo finds out he's gonna get murdered by some phyco girl/ fish abuser. His fellow hostages almost kill him so they could escape, but it doesn't work. Meanwhile, his clearly suicidal dad puts himself in danger, once again, along with an idiotic blue fish that can only remember one thing: P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney. And although they live happily ever after, this movie is still depressing.

While I was ranting on about the negative side to an animated childrens movie, I also grabbed my keys, turned off the TV and lights, and started driving to work. Working was terrible, I always hated it. But it's what I needed to do in order to pay the bills. Most people consider it weird to think that a student who just graduated high school is already paying bills, and taxes, and stuff that we're not supposed to worry about until we graduate college. But this is my life for now. And if working from 2-10pm is what it takes, then I'll just have to suck it up.

Before I could even think about anything else, I arrived at the diner. Mike and Jo Ann were already inside, serving the few people that were inside. All they ever did was open up the place and then leave as soon as I get here. Then I'm left to be a waitress for every single table until ten at night. It was just me and the three chefs in the back, and they hardly ever talked to me. I could already tell today was gonna suck more than usual. I sighed and opened the doors just as Mike and Jo Ann were leaving.

“Tessa,” Jo Ann hissed. I glanced at her, she just gave me the keys to the diner and walked to her car. Mike looked at me. He whispered the words, I'm sorry. A small tear fell down my cheek as I closed the door, put on my apron, and started to tend to people's orders.

*Harry's POV*

Overall, the fruit war was a success. Liam, Louis and I won. However, I was a mess by the end of it, so I did have to shower and blow dry my hair. I put on my usual jeans, my Hipsta Please shirt and some shoes. By now, it was 2:45, she had to be working by now. Look at the picture you took. I pulled out my phone and pulled up the picture. It only said “Tessa full day” under six of seven days of the week. Jeez, tight work schedule... I grabbed my keys and I was out the door. I hoped she was working, I wanted to see her again.

The diner she worked at wasn't far from our place. Thank God for that, because I would be making this drive a lot more often now. I just couldn't understand why I can't stop thinking about Tessa. Yeah, she's gorgeous but she's seeing someone else, and that's all I knew about her. The next left turn would take me to the diner, I saw her car in the parking lot and smiled. I guess it was the fact that I wanted to know more about her and the fact that I get to chase her really drove me to her. I parked my car next to hers and turned to see a beautiful face smiling up at me through the window. Tessa was blushing a little bit, I thought it was so cute. She turned away from the table she was working at and yelled something into the kitchen, then walked towards the front door. I took a deep breath in and opened the door to the diner.

*Tessa's POV*

Harry pulled up into the diner and parked his car right next to mine. He was staring at me while a big goofy smile covered his face, I couldn't help but blush. He really was beautiful.

“Your food will be right out,” I looked over to the lady at the table I was serving and she just nodded at me. “Al we need that burger!” I yelled into the kitchen. Harry was coming near the door, I decided to meet him there. Why was he staring at me so much? I know he's into me but c'mon pal, you are making it so obvious. I giggled and opened the door.

“Hey babe,” he kissed my cheek, grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him to a table in the corner.

“What are you doing here?” I smiled at him, he just laughed at me.

“I came to visit you at work! Why aren't you wearing my jumper?” Harry poked me on the shoulder teasingly, his eyes never left mine. Quit blushing, you love Nico, not him.

“I'm not allowed to, I have to obey the dress code.” I said.

“What happens if you don't?” He asked.

“I get put on probation,” he frowned at me.

“Tessa! You have orders waiting!” Al called to me, I sighed.

“I have to work. Do you want anything?” I asked.

“You,” Harry winked at me.

“Okay that was really cheesy so the answer is no,” we laughed, “how about a drink instead?” I walked over to the counter and starting serving people there food.

“Fine, but let me get it.” Harry got up and walked towards me.

“You don't know where it is,” I looked at Harry, he was just looking at me.

“Show me,” he grabbed my hand and smiled. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the soda dispenser.

“Do you want ice?” I asked, grabbing a glass.

“I'll get it,” Harry had me pinned against the counter as he put ice in his cup. He brought the hair that was in front of my face and put it on my back.

“What drink do you want? We have more in the other dispenser if you don't want any of these,” my voice faded and chills went up my spine as he grabbed my waist and whispered in my ear.

“Did you know that you're really beautiful?” I could feel his heart beating against my back. I answered his question in my head, not really, no.

“Harry people are staring.” I looked down, I didn't want to answer his question out loud.

“How do you know? You can't see them,” he was still whispering.

“Well for one thing you're one of the most popular celebrities out there, and maybe because this isn't something people normally do in public.” I turned to look at him, he put his hand on my cheek and stared into my eyes.

“Oh well,” he said. I rolled my eyes and walked away, Harry was close behind.

“Tessa! The orders!” Al screamed.

“Oh sorry!” I grabbed more plates and turned to Harry, “you need to leave. You're distracting me.” The people here were getting impatient and I knew I probably wasn't getting good tips, thanks to Harry.

“I'm sorry for distracting you, but I'm not leaving.” He said.

“Why not? Why do you want to see me so bad?” I asked, still serving people. “How is your food ma'am? Everything okay?” I smiled at her.

“Yeah, thank you.” She looked up at me quickly then continued to eat.

“Fantastic, let me know if you need anything else.” I left her table, Harry was leaning against the counter.

“You were saying?” He asked.

“Why do you want to see me so bad?” I laughed a little, so did he.

“Because you make my day,” he smiled at me.

“You barely know me!” I laughed.

“I know, it sucks! Which is why you should give me your number!” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into him, he grabbed my waist from behind. Butterflies were fluttering in my stomach. I thought this was Nico's job...

“If I give it to you, will you leave?” I played with his shirt, it was soft.

“Sounds like a deal,” he smiled.

“Fine,” I chuckled, pulled out a pen and wrote my number on his palm. Corny right? “There,” I said.

“Thanks for making my day babe,” he kissed me on the cheek and smiled. As he was walking out I felt the urge to tell him to stay. Thanks for making mine.
