Age is Just a Number

Caroline is a 15-year-old girl who likes One Direction, but isn't in love with them like the rest of her friends. When one of her friends takes the four of them to meet One Direction backstage, Caroline meets five boys who will change her life forever.

4. Love at First Sight

Harry's Point of View

"Zayn! Get out here now! We're going to be late!" Liam called, knocking on the bathroom door. "You know wardrobe always fixes your hair anyway." But Zayn didn't care. He always had to fix his hair, even though we were going straight to wardrobe so they could fix it anyway. He yelled from the bathroom, "Yeah, but I always do it better." Liam rolled his eyes, but Niall had an idea. "Zayn," he said quietly, "if you don't come out right now, I'm going to pour this bottle of water on your hair." He didn't have a bottle of water, but Zayn didn't know that. What Zayn did know, however, was that if you get hair wet while it has hair spray in it, the results could be disastrous.

Slowly the door creaked open. He peered around at Niall, and once he saw Niall didn't have a water bottle, he stepped out. "Alright, you got me. Let's go," he sighed, and we headed downstairs.

Zayn really isn't as vain as many people think, and he doesn't stop to look at himself in every reflective surface. Not ALL of them, anyway. But the one thing he really is concerned about is his hair. He's very protective of it.

We headed out, but as the boys walked ahead, I shuffled along, and I was quickly about ten feet behind them, and looking down at the floor. I didn't hear Lou come up next to me.

Suddenly, Louis's voice was right in my ear. "Look, there's a nice looking girl. Maybe you should talk to her." I jumped and he gave me a cheeky grin. I looked at the girl he was gesturing to. She was about my age, and was sort of pretty, I guess. She just didn't seem to be...right, I guess. I shook my head at Louis and looked back at the floor. But he wouldn't quit. Every moderately attractive girl that came our was was pointed out to me. Finally, I said, "Give it up, Lou. I can't just see a girl and fall in love. There's no such thing as love at first sight. Besides, I don't want to fall in love with a girl for her looks. I want her to have a beautiful personality."

Louis sighed and said, "All right, Curly. But you're wrong about love at first sight." Then he skipped away.

What did he mean? There's no such thing as love at first sight, is there? And how would he know? But I had to forget about it because we had reached wardrobe and they had started running us around getting ready for the performance tonight. Ugh. I love performing and all, but I'm really not in the mood. Why did Evelyn have to break up with me right before the concert? Although, I guess anytime would be right before a concert. My schedule's pretty full.

Then a thought hit me. What if that's why Evelyn broke up with me? Because I never have any time to spend with her? That's it! In my mind, a plan starts to formulate. Maybe if I promised I would spend more time with her...
