He's Mine

As I turn 17, the things I thought were the most important, seemed to prove me wrong. So now I sit on this plane with my best friend Haley, waiting for my arrival in NY, my big break. Little did I know I was going to be staying at the most expensive apartment in Manhattan. Yeah, you heard right. Let's just say, my uncle is more than just a rich fellow. Maybe I'll meet someone special. Maybe they'll be real. Maybe they'll be my next door neighbor for the summer? All I hope is that the day I meet him, my heart is ready to let him in.

16. The Fight.

Harry's POV.

**2 weeks later**

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone, a number completely alien to me had called. "Hey Harry." Taylor's annoyingly bitter-sweet voice rang through my speakers. I groaned and felt like doing nothing but chuck my phone out the open window. "What the hell do you want." I growled, annoyed at the one person who wanted to ruin the best relationship I had ever gotten myself into.

"Now now Harry. That's no way to speak to a woman." She giggled into the phone. "I'm hanging up." I mumbled taking the phone away from my ear, before hearing her yell "OKAY OKAY SORRY. JUST HEAR ME OUT." I reluctantly put the phone back to my ear, waiting for her to explain whatever she wanted.

"Well... You left me in Brooklyn... Pretty much out of the blue. And I was so alone! So I'm in New York for the day. And I thought I might give you the option of making it up to me? Or else." Her annoying voice, making me feel sick in the pit of my stomach. "Or else what?" I chuckled. "Well let's just say there are some ugly lies I'm about to spread." This wasn't going to end well.

Eliza's POV.

"Excited for dinner with Harry tonight?" Danielle asked, walking around with our arms interlocked. "Definitely. He wouldn't stop talking about it either." I grinned leaning into her slightly. "Come on let's go get some food." She giggled and we made our way over to Starbucks, ordering our bagels and such.

After finishing up, we made our way back to William, getting ready for him to send us back home.

"Baby? Are you home?" I called out, but the only one to answer was Eleanor. "I'm home though." She giggled sitting onto the couch. I went and sat next to her, throwing my head back. "Tired?" She asked worriedly, putting her hand against my forehead. "No... I just thought Harry would be home." I mumbled. "Well maybe he wanted you to meet him there?" I looked at her for a moment before sighing again. "I guess."

"Come on mopey butt! Let's get you ready." Then she pulled me all the way to my room, dragging me onto a chair. She decided to keep the makeup simple, just dabbing a bit of foundation, then eyeliner and mascara. "Lip tint should be enough right?" She debated to herself before going with lip tint anyway. After that, she put some kind of mousse into my hair, making the existing natural waves I had, more obvious.

"There. Now go change." She smiled and sat on my bed. I grabbed the beige body-con dress I bought from Miss Selfridge then went into the bathroom to change. After I came out, Eleanor passed me my nude heels, helping me slip into them. "You look gorgeous honey." She smiled hugging me. "Thanks to you." I grinned hugging her back. "I've been meaning to ask you..." She paused, thinking for a moment, "will you be my maid of honor?"

My smile immediately grew wider, making me hug her once more. "Of course I will!" She smiled and thanked me, pulling me out to the front room. "I'll drive you there if you'd like?" I nodded rapidly, not wanting to go alone. She grabbed her bag and car keys, deciding to take the rental car. Yeah, we did eventually rent a car.

"What time is he meant to have dinner with you at?" El asked, slowly exiting the parking lot. "8... It's 7:55." I giggled at our late-ness. "Well then I better hurry!" Then she pressed down on the accelerator. She turned on the radio and the boys' song Live While We're Young came on. Eventually we started singing along, getting pretty worked-up about it too.

"AND LIVE WHILE WE'RE YOUNGGGGGGG!" We both yelled and the top of our lungs, bursting into laughter after. "Gosh we suck!" El exclaimed, but made sure to keep her eye on the road. After a while, we finally made it to the restaurant.

I thanked Eleanor, giving her a hug before walking up to the waiter at the front. "Reservations under Eliza Smith?" He nodded and led me to a table for two, right next to the window. "Thank you." I mumbled and sat down, with an empty seat opposite me. Where could he be?

Harry's POV.

We had been at the park for ages, in open spaces if I might add. There paps everywhere. I could just sense it. God how on earth was I supposed to explain this to Eliza. Taylor had insisted on holding my hand, and on more than one occasion, "Smile Harry. God at least look like you're having fun!" And I would always answer "But I'm not." Which would make her pretty angry... Then she'd threaten me again.

I sighed, then all of a sudden, she pulled me in for a kiss which caught me off-guard. If it was Eliza, I would kiss back immediately, but it wasn't. I quickly pushed her off me, accidentally knocking her onto the ground. "Dammit Taylor what the fuck?!" I was beyond furious. In fact, I would kill her if it wasn't against the law. Eliza was definitely going to kill me now... For sure.

"Shit." I cussed, looking at my watch. "I'm late." With that I left Taylor on the ground, calling out my name over and over, and ran to my car. I quickly sped onto the road, trying as fast as I could to get to the restaurant.

"Reservations under Eliza Smith?" I told the waitress at the front. "Sit you date has been waiting for over an hour!" She looked distressed for Eliza. Now I felt really bad. "I know. I got caught up. Please lead me to her." She looked at me disapprovingly, but led me over to where Eliza was sitting anyway. She was sipping on her wine, looking bored. But there was a hint of fury in her eyes that made me scared to even approach her.

"Eliza I'm so-" she put her hand up in front of my face. "I don't even want to hear it." She said bluntly, not looking me in the eyes. "Just drive me home Harry." I sighed and nodded, paying for the bill as we exited.

The whole ride home was silent. No one spoke, but I could tell she was crying. I mean, come on. I knew her so well. Once I parked the car, we went up to the apartment. Again, Eliza didn't look at me. Not even once. When we made it into the living room she chucked her phone and purse onto the couch and turned to look at me.

"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU HARRY?! OH WAIT- NO. LET ME GUESS. I HEARD TAYLOR WAS IN TOWN. I CAN CONFIRM YOU WERE WITH HER TODAY." She just kept screaming, and screaming. I just stood there, saying nothing. Because every single word she said, was absolutely true. "How could you. We're over." She whispered before Eleanor came in and hugged Eliza right. "Bastard." She muttered, directed at me of course. Louis soon came out too, dragging me by the collar into Eliza's and my room.

"You can't be serious Harry! How many bloody times do we have to go over this?" This lecture was much longer, but somehow, it didn't hurt as much as the screaming for Eliza was. I tried to explain to him, but he just got angrier, shutting me up. Soon the whole band was going to find out, and I was almost certain they'd all hate me. Eliza had pretty much become like their younger sister.

I put my head in hands, regretting even agreeing to Taylor's stupid offer to 'make it up' to her. Stupid bitch. "OKAY I GET IT! I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT." I yelled frustrated, throwing the lamp on the desk onto the floor. "I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!" I screamed pulling at my hair. Louis sighed and put his hand on my shoulder. "I'd never seen you so happy before this. And now you've just ruined it." He stated then walked out, leaving me to breakdown.

Niall's POV.

"He ditched her Niall! He's being such an ignorant bastard!" Louis growled, walking back and forth in the room. "Louis you need to calm yourself. Did you even ask him why he did it?" Liam asked, trying to reason him out. He stopped in his tracks, then smacked his forehead. "He tried... But I cut him off." He mumbled making me groan. "The least you could do was let him explain Lou." I told him, looking at Zayn. "We'll go ask." Zayn offered and grabbed my arm, bringing me out the door.

We walked into Louis' apartment with the key he gave us, walking over to Eliza and Harry's room. Zayn knocked and eventually a red-eyed, messy-haired Harry opened the door. "We want to know why." I stated, folding my arms across my chest. He sniffled, shuffling to one side so we could come in. There was a smashed lamp on the ground, and it looked like he completely ruined his room. Though Eliza's stuff remained untouched.

"She threatened me." He whispered, his knee bouncing under his palm. "What- how?" Zayn asked confused as he sat next to Harry on the bed. I on the other hand decided on standing. Eliza meant so much more to me than just my mate's girlfriend. She was a sister to me... And the thought of her crying didn't exactly please me, to say the least. "She's America's angel country singer. She was willing to make up a fake rumor, just so I would go out to the park with her. She even kissed me! So I pushed her off me and quickly went to the restaurant to find Eliza."

My face softened, and I scratched the back of my neck. So this was Taylor's fault again? "Look, I'm not asking you to believe me, though I hope you do, but will one of you please try to explain it to Eliza?" He was begging by now. The tears had re-formed in his eyes, and I could tell he was so close to sobbing. I looked at Zayn and he gave me a look that said "you do it." I sighed and nodded patting Harry on the shoulder, "I'll do it."

Eliza's POV.

I don't understand! What did I do wrong? Was I not good enough? Was I not pretty enough? Somehow I felt like all this was my fault. "Don't you dare say it was your fault. You deserve better than him!" She looked over at me, seeing the state I was in, then sighed. I must have thought that out loud... "I'm sorry Eliza. You just- you deserve so much better." She mumbled and I hugged her tight, just crying softly into her. "What if I don't want better? What if I just want him?" I whimpered starting to sob.

She just continued to softly shush me and rub my back. "I want to leave El... Will you come with me? I want to go back to London." I cried, hugging her. "Of course I will honey. Of course." She hugged me back, kissing my temple. "Want me to get you some tea?" I nodded, sniffling softy. Once she left the room, I jumped onto her pillow, sobbing hysterically into it.

Eleanor's POV.

It hurt seeing Eliza like that. So vulnerable, so broken. Once I closed the door, I made my way into the kitchen, grabbing a mug, before I heard something smash in Harry's room. Out of habit, I put the mug onto the table and walked over to Harry's door, knocking softly. When my knuckle came in contact with the door, it slowly creaked open, making my eyebrows furrow.

"Harry?" I called into the semi-dark room. Then I saw him in the corner, his iPhone shattered on the wood floor. "Oh my god." I mumbled and went over to him, noticing his knuckles bleeding and a hole in the wall. "Are you okay?" I asked placing my arm on his, making his head shoot up to look at me with his bloodshot eyes. He relaxed when he realized it was me.

"This is all my fault." He whispered, a tear trickling down his cheek. I sighed and sat next to him, my back against the wall too. "You may be right, but I think you just let the greatest thing in your life slip away..." I told him, feeling awfully bad for him. "What do you mean?" His attention was now fully on me, and I could see the tear stains all over his face.

I hesitated, but decided he may as well know. "Eliza... She wants to go back to London. And I've agreed to follow her. I'll be staying there until the wedding... And I guess Louis will be staying here for a while. With you..." I explained, feeling my heart sink to the bottom of my belly, "and I suggest you go back to London too. Together with the rest of the boys." I added.

"So it's really over." He choked out, the started sobbing again. "Harry- I'm so sorry." I murmured, kissed him on the head then left him to be. He was a mess, and so was Eliza. In fact, they were almost symmetrical at the moment.

After making tea for both Eliza and I, I walked back in to see her face-down on my pillow. I had talked to Louis and he was super supportive about me going back to London with Eli. He was also going to take Eliza's place on their bed... I hope this doesn't turn out to be the worse-case scenario I had pictured in my head...

Author's note: HIYOOOOOO :3 Okay so this chapter didn't really end up as long as I wanted it to be... But I was honestly wracking my brains trying to think of something to write.. Huff. Pretty disappointed with myself today! D:

Another thing, I mentioned in the last chapter that I was thinking of doing a cut-off list? I guess no one wanted it... But I might do it anyway because I feel like it :P URGH OMG JUST ONE MORE CHAPTER! **Hysterically cries into pillow like Eliza**
