He's Mine

As I turn 17, the things I thought were the most important, seemed to prove me wrong. So now I sit on this plane with my best friend Haley, waiting for my arrival in NY, my big break. Little did I know I was going to be staying at the most expensive apartment in Manhattan. Yeah, you heard right. Let's just say, my uncle is more than just a rich fellow. Maybe I'll meet someone special. Maybe they'll be real. Maybe they'll be my next door neighbor for the summer? All I hope is that the day I meet him, my heart is ready to let him in.

6. Follow Me To The Studio?

Harry's POV.

I woke up feeling something lying on my lap. Looking down, I saw the most beautiful being this planet has ever produced. And I was so honored to have her peacefully asleep on my lap. Her vibrant red hair laid scattered along my leg as her chest rose and fell calmly. Her bright brown eyes were now concealed by her eyelids which were once covered in light colored eyeshadow. I had the slightest urge to kiss her plump, soft looking lips which stayed relaxed and slightly pouted.

I didn't know whether I should wake her or just leave her be... "Harry... What are you doing?" I heard Josh's rough morning voice whisper over to me as he furrowed his eyebrows. "She just looks so perfect..." I mumbled without meaning to. I was just meant to shake my head and say "nothing..." But no, I had to go with that. Nice going Harry. Very smart. "Someone's hooked." He teased winking over to me. "Says you, you couldn't even take your eyes off Haley the whole night yesterday. And now I bet your ecstatic that she fell asleep on your shoulder." I smirked knowing I was right.

"Alright, alright shut up." He grumbled knowing he wouldn't be able to argue. I decided maybe I'd fall asleep once more so that it didn't seem so creepy if she woke up and saw me staring at her... Eh, it wouldn't hurt.

I woke up to the hear the sound of chattering. Not just any chattering... Josh, Eliza and Haley... How long have I been asleep? I slowly opened my eyes to see Eliza sitting on my lap, Josh sprawled out watching Tv, and Haley talking to them about some kind of new condom brand... What the fuck? Okay, so I admit. I kinda liked Eliza on my lap... But shut up.

"Look who decided to wake up?" Josh smirked, I sent him a death glare before wrapping my arms around Eli's waist and settling my chin on her shoulder. "How long have I been out?" I asked yawning and hiding my face in her shoulder. "It's 11am love." Eliza giggled running her fingers through her hair. "Want anything to eat?" She was about to get up before I pulled her back down. "Nope, just stay hereeeee." I whined and pulled her down with me, into a lying position.

"Mate, we have a recording session today again..." Josh grumbled rubbing his face with both his hands. I groaned and hugged Eliza tighter to me. "Alright cuddly butt, you have to go!" She joked trying to push me off. But I wasn't going to budge. "I like it here." I mumbled and she sighed defeated, snuggling into my arms. I felt the need to protect her. To hold her in my arms and never let her go... But she wasn't mine.

"How about we follow you guys to the studio?" Haley suggested, seeing Eli and I cuddling comfortably together. I felt my whole face brighten up at those 9 words. "I'd like that." I said smiling down at Eliza as she smiled back at me. "Me too." She mumbled and snuggled back into my chest. Haley and Josh gave each other a look, before winking at one another. What are they up to...?

Eliza's POV.

"Maybe you guys should go change?" I murmured up to Harry as I continued to breath into his firm chest. I felt so comfortable in his arms, and every time I shuffled closer, Harry didn't seem to mind. I really, really, really liked that. "I guess so..." He mumbled. I reluctantly pulled myself away, groaning as I did so, then walked into my room. "I suggest going back to your apartment to change." I shouted to him before closing my door shut.

I did all my necessities before slipping on some bright red shorts and a stripped white and blue tank top. I put on my navy converse and pleated my hair into a fishtail braid, to the side. I put a thin layer of eyeliner on before going out and into the kitchen for a glass of milk. After downing a cup, Haley strolled out happily whistling a tune I couldn't quite recognize. "Well you're fine and dandy now aren't you." I teased, winking at her.

"OH shut up. Says the girl who snuggled up to a boy she only met on the plane a couple of days ago. Aye?" Ohhh, it's on. I glared at her, but before I could do anything, Harry came strolling in. He examined my outfit for a moment before realization flashed across the features I was surprisingly so familiar with. "Your outfit reminds me of Louis." He smiled, his attention turning back to my face. "Louis must have amazing fashion taste." I chuckled before we all exited, heading out to Harry's limo.

"So what are you going to be doing there?" I asked Harry, opening up a can of Dr. Pepper. "Well I'll probably be in the booth most of the time... So do just want to chill out?" I chuckled nodding, Haley doing the same. "Wait, could Eliza maybe show off some of her skills?" Haley suddenly burst out, I shot her a glare that said "don't you dare."

She just smirked at me before turning her attention back to the boys. "She's an absolutely stunning singer." My cheeks flushed slightly and I tried to hide the smile that was now forming on my natural pink lips. I appreciate the compliment Hales, but shut up. "No I'm not..." I mumbled and considered hitting Haley with my Dr. Pepper bottle. "Oh please. Come on Harry, just let her song one song?" Harry smiled cheekily at me, obviously noticing my pink cheeks.

"I have absolutely no problem with that." He told Haley "Right Josh?" Josh smiled nodding, siding with the other two menaces in the car. "You guys suck." I mumbled slouching back into my seat. "Oh come on Eliza, just one song?" Josh begged flashing me his pearly whites. I sighed defeated and nodded. "But you guys still suck." I added, taking another sip of the bubbly drink in my hands, my only friend at the moment.

We stopped in front of a big red building. Harry stepped out first as I followed him out and into the lobby as he talked to the lady at the desk for a moment. I examined my surroundings, marble floors, plain red walls, black furniture. It looked pretty grand... "Come on." Harry said excitedly as he tugged on my hand. We followed him into the lift and it ascended to the 9th floor.

When we entered the studio, I was greeted by a long table covered with varieties of sweet treats. Every. Single. Type. Of. Sweet. I grinned as I imagined myself on a sugar high. Ohhhhh my gosh. "Eliza don't even think about it." Haley warned grabbing my arm and sitting me onto the couch. Just for extra assurance, she sat on me so I couldn't get up.

I sighed in annoyance and just sat watching Harry sing out with that angelic voice he possessed. To be honest, it was something I was definitely jealous of... "Alright Eli, your turn." Josh said pulling me out from under Haley's fat ass. "Nooooooooooooo." I whined but was pushed into the booth anyway. "What do you want to sing?" Harry asked smirking at me.

"Jar of Hearts." I mumbled, I felt the need to dedicate this song to Liam... Well, I'm not going to tell anyone that but, you know. The second I heard the instrumental music I totally zoned-out into my own world. Flashbacks of memories with Liam clouded my mind as I let the words roll naturally off my tongue. I didn't realize the music had ended and Haley had been repeating my name numerous times.

"W-what?" I asked, my mind completely unaware of whatever that had been going on. "Love, you've been staring into thin air for the past minute... Are you alright?" Haley asked through the microphone. I shook the thoughts out of my head, putting the best smile I could manage onto my face. "Yeah sorry... How was I?"

Yes, if you're wondering, I was trying to change the subject. "Oh, you were great. I swear you have an amazing talent." Josh smiled then motioned his hand for me to come out of the booth. "Have you ever considered getting a manager?" Josh asked, Harry walking up next to him. "No, never really needed or wanted one." I chuckled. I didn't really want to be a singer honestly... Singing was just a past time to me. I didn't even know what I wanted to be yet...

"Well, if you ever want one I'm sure Simon-" I cut him off before he could say anything else "I honestly don't think I'd make it anywhere with a singing career. Heck, my voice isn't crazy good." I wasn't very good at the whole 'self-esteem' thing... And Haley made that very clear. "She's so naive. It's sickening sometimes." She muttered to Josh, crossing her arms in annoyance.

I was starting to get pretty pissed off at her. "Urgh." I groaned and stomped out the door. I had no clue where the hell I was going. All I know is that if I didn't get out of there fast, Haley was going to end up with a bleeding nose. Not the good kind. The painful kind.

I don't know how, nor do I care, but I ended up on the roof of the building, sitting as far as possible from the edge as possible. I hated heights, yet they seemed so comforting at times like this. I took a huge breath in, trying to calm myself as I stared out to the view of New York. "What are you doing up here?" Harry's gentle voice came from behind me before I felt him sit next to me.

"No matter how afraid I am of heights, somehow looking above everyone else seems to calm me... It's weird, don't you think?" I mumbled absentmindedly as I continued to stare out into the city. "No I don't find it weird at all." He chuckled letting out a breath he probably didn't know he was holding in.

"She just annoys me sometimes. Other times she's the only person in the world I can depend on. But she likes to think that everything she decides is the best for me... I mean, I deserve to have my own say in all this don't you think?" I never really had anyone to complain to other than Haley and Kyle... But venting to Harry felt good. Somehow.

"I know how you feel. Louis and I are super close... Heck, our fans think we're in a gay relationship. But he can be a little overboard. It gets annoying and since he's eldest, he has that attitude. I know it's weird but, I love going up to the roof too. I may not be afraid of heights like you, but it's unusual for me to be hiding somewhere alone..." He was being so honest... Like he didn't care if we had only met on a plane a couple of days ago.

"How could someone I only met on a plane a couple of days ago, seem to understand me more than my own best friend?" I asked smiling softly at my hands as I fiddled with my fingers. "Who knows? All I know is that for some reason, I feel like I can trust you with anything. And I'm kinda happy it's you." He grinned and I leaned myself onto him as he wrapped his arms around me, instantly making me feel safe.

"Haley and Josh left first... She feels guilty for saying that you know." Harry mumbled into my hair as his thumb stroked my arm soothingly. "I know.. I guess I just needed some fresh air before I lost control and broke her nose..." I sighed as the wind blew past causing me to shiver slightly. "We should probably get inside." Harry told me before gently lifting me up and walking me back into the studio.

"How are we to get home?" I asked realizing Haley and Josh probably took the limo back to the apartment. "William is coming back for us, don't worry love." Harry chuckled and we went to sit in one of the leather chairs near the door.

Once the limo came we both piled in and I guess I must have fallen asleep on Harry's shoulder because the last thing I remember was hearing his sweet voice sing Little Things softly into my ear.
