Age Is Just A Number

This book is basically about a 15 year old girl named Ski (Pronounced Sky) who has a passion for photography. It's basically her life. Her dad happens to be best friends with One Direction's body guard, Paul. When Paul has a conversation about One Direction needing a new photographer, Ski's dad recommended her and she is now One Direction's new photographer. Problem is her dad didn't tell her that she would be working with the famous One Direction, just a popular band and she hates One Direction. A lot.

Would she fall for one of the boys? And if she did, would her age, being just 15, stop her from loving him?

Based on the title of my book what is your opinion. Is age just a number when it comes to love?

3. Big News

I walked home today. I'd usually ride with Jasmine but she's going to that One Direction store and I am definitely not going to ride with her if that's all she talks about. I unzipped my backpack and pulled out my camera. I looked around to try to find something worth taking a shot at. A little farther down the road, a few kids were haveing a snowball fight. Perfect.

I picked up my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I kneed behind a tree and aimed at the children. I took 3 shots and looked back at them. One came out blurry but the other two were just right. I got a shot of a kid right before the snowball left his hand. The other one was of the other kid getting hit and all the snow going in all directions.

BZZZZZZ

I felt a vibration in my pocket. Oh crap, totally forgot about my dad. I grabbed my Iphone out of my pocket and read the text.

"Honey, need you home ASAP." This 'news' must be really important. I carefully put my camrea back into my backpack and turned toward the direction of my house.

I unlocked the door to my two-story house. "Dad, I'm home." I yelled setting my backpack down.

"I'm in the kitchen, hun!" my dad yelled. I walked into the kitchen and stopped dead in my tracks. Food was all over the counter and there were suitcases lined up beside the wall.

"Um, dad?" He looked at me and I gestured toward the giant mess.

"I'm going to need you to sit down before I tell you what's going on." I shrugged. I grabbed an apple off the kitchen counter and sat down on the bar stool.

"Shoot." I said biting into my apple.

"You remember Paul? My old college buddy?" I nodded. Paul was so nice to me when I was a baby. He always put me on his shoulders and we would take a walk around Central Park.

"Well he's working with this famous band, and he was telling me how they needed a new photographer..." I shot up from my seat.

"Dad, don't mess with me..." I said smiling.

"Well I mentioned you and he said the management would love to meet you." He said glasping his hand together.

"So what are you saying?" I asked. My heart was racing a thousand miles a minutes.

"You are now a photographer for a famous band!" he screamed.

"Omg, shutup!" I said. This must be a dream!

"So we're moving to California!?" I yelled jumping up and down! My father laughed at me.

"Um, did I miss something?"

"We're not moving to California." Um, what?

"Then where are we going?" I asked suspiciously.

"England!" I squealed with excitement. I've always wanted to go there and see all the hot boys and there british accents.

"When are we leaving?"

"In two hours exactly." he said looking at his watch. Two hours!? That's not enough time to take a shower, pack all my stuff... and Jasmine. I never got the chance to say goodbye.

"But what about all my friends?" I asked frowning.

"There's no time for that kiddo!" my dad said picking up a few suitcases and dragging them to the front foyer. I mean I can always call and text her and write letters but it won't be the same without physically seeing her.

I ran upstairs into my room. I kneeled down under my bed and pulled out two empty suitcases. I layed them both open on my bed and started looking for things to pack. The first thing I grabbed was my purple apple laptop that I recently got for my birthday. I set it aside so I can use it on the plane ride there.

I ran over to my drawer and started grabbing underwear and bras. I stacked them neatly, somewhat, in my first suitcase. I grabbed my sketch pad, a few books, and a small pink teddy bear Jasmine gave me. I hugged it real tight before stuffing it inside with the rest of my stuff.

Next was clothes. I opened my walk-in closet and grabbed everything on my hangers. I quickly but neatly folded them into my suitcase. I then grabbed all 15 pairs of shoes and placed them neatly inside. My suitcase was starting to get full. Hopefully I can do a lot of shopping in England. I grabbed everything that I would possible need to survive. Then I totally forgot about my beautiful gray coat. I grabbed ahold of it and shoved it in my suitcase. I closed the lid and tried to zip it shut. No luck. I then jumped onto it and started jumping. Finally it zipped shut. Next suitcase.

I went to my other drawer and pulled out every single object that had to do with photography. I pulled out all 10 different cameras and put them in their own correct bag. Carefully, I placed them in order of edition. I decided to take my Eos XTI edition on board for a little plane pictures. It was still in my backpack from earlier. I'll get it later.

"Ski! We have to leave in exactly one hour!" my dad yelled from downstairs.

"Kay!" I replyed. I think I got everything. I looked around my room and found it completely naked. I wonder what my new room would look like. Or if I even had a room.

Time for a shower. I quickly got undressed and hopped into the shower. As fast as I can, I washed every part of me. My hair twice because that's how I give it that glowing look. After about 20 minutes of showering I got out and blow dryed my hair. I quickly chanced into something comfty and warm for the plane ride. Jeans, long sleeve shirt, with a heavy jacket over it. I examined myself in the mirror.

"Perfect." I whispered while smiling at myself. I walked into the bathroom and checked to see if the straightener was hot enough yet.

"Ouch!" I pulled back my thumb and suck on it for a moment.

"Crap, that hurt." I carefully grabbed the safe side of the straightener and started doing my hair.

It took about fifteen minutes to do my hair and now I only have twenty-five minutes left.

I once again examined myself in the mirror. I had to admit, I looked really cute. With this cute heavy jacket and boots, I looked quite fashionable. My dark brown hair flowed pass my shoulders in layers. Almost ready. I grabbed a small purse that would be my carry on. I put my Dr Dre Beats headphones in it as well with my laptop. I put my Iphone in there as well as my charger. I looked at the clock. 10 minutes.

I  carefully walked downstairs with both suitcases in my arms and my purse over my shoulder.

"Oh honey, let me help you with that." he quickly jogged over to me feeling me with relief. I looked around and saw four suitcases, two for him and two for me, scattered around the foyer.

"I'm going to sneak some snacks in my purse." I said walking in the kitchen. After looking through everything and grabbing a few snacks my dad yelled, "It's time kiddo! Let's hit the road!"

I smiled and put my game-face on. Time to show off my Photography skills.

I said goodbye to my perfect house and shut the door, locking it.
