The Cheerleader and the Football Player

16 year old MacKenzie is the shy girl at school. She doesn't go out and party a lot or get drunk or have a million boyfriends. She is a level 10 gymnast, but she never though about going out for the cheerleading team. She ends up trying out, and befriending the other shy girl, and falling in love with her new friends twin brother. But what could happen when she gets injured and the doctors tell her she can never do gymnastics again? Will she give up? Or will she find a way to do it anyway.

*In this story Harry is famous, but he has always been the popular boy in school and nobody treats him that different for being famous and he is a football player, the star quarterback to be exact. And I know he only has an older sister, Gemma, but for the sake of the story, he has a twin sister.*

Harrys POV

"Mrs. White/ where is Mackenzie?" I asked as her mother answered their front door. "She’s not here, and even if she was, I wouldn’t let her see you." She told me. "Mrs. White, do you know where I can find her?' I asked, hoping that she would take pity on me and I could go and win Kenzie back.

"She’s in America. She got accepted into a program that’s going to help her with her knee and then she trains there because their more into cheerleading in America apparently." She told me and shut the door on me.

"America..." I said to myself. I have to go to her. I love her so much and I made a huge mistake.

Mackenzie’s POV

"Aunt Lisa!" I said as I saw my Aunt in the airport. "Kenzie! You've gotten so big!" She told me as she gave me a huge hug. “Aunt Lisa I haven’t seen you since I was 7, I think I’ve grown a little.” I joked and we both laughed. “Come on, Kim and your uncle wants to see you.” Aunt Lisa told me and I smiled and went to get my bags from Luggage claim.

“It’s so nice here.” I told my aunt once we started driving towards her house, and where I would be staying for the next few months. “Yea, it’s quite but peaceful around here.” She responded and the rest of the trip to the house was quiet.

“Mackenzie!” My uncle Dylan called as I walked into the front door. “Hi Uncle Dylan.” I said as he gave me a hug and a tan, brunette, petite girl about my age walked into the room. “Kim you remember Mackenzie right? Or maybe not, you guys were young when you saw each other.” My aunt told us and she looked upset.

“Yea I remember Kenzie. She’s the one who beat me in the talent show when we were little. I worked so hard on that song.” Kim said and I felt uncomfortable especially since I didn’t remember it, or her. “Oh, I’m sorry Kim. I don’t really remember that…” I said and my uncle cut me off.

“Anyway let’s get you settled, it’s a long flight from England to Kentucky and I bet you’re tired. You have physical therapy tomorrow at 9 by the way.” He said and I smiled and picked up my bags and he led me towards my room.

It was a nice room, and you could tell they tried to redecorate it recently. The paint looked fresh and it was black and pink and had a huge GT symbol on the wall. It also had medals all over the room and trophies. Not to mention it had pictures of a cheer team in pink and black uniforms with huge trophies all over the walls.

“Don’t worry this is all my stuff, this is my old room and I moved into the room 3 doors over since it’s bigger. The paint is just drying, don’t worry I’ll get rid of it soon.” Kim said as she entered the doorway of the room. “Oh no, I was just looking at all the medals and stuff. I think it’s cool and I wish I was able to compete.” I said as I sat on the large pink and black bed.

“Oh. Well it sucks about you knee.” She said as she came in and sat down on the bed next to me. “Yea, but I’m just ready to be able to cheer again so.” I said as I pulled out my phone and saw I had a ton of missed calls from Harry. “How come you came here to fix your knee? I heard there’s a really good training program in England.” Kim asked.

“Oh well you know I just wanted to get a break from some stuff that happened there, no big deal.” I said as my phone rang again and Kim and I both looked at it. “You gunna get that?” She asked after I didn’t immediately pick it up. “No.” I said and she smirked. “You and Harry broke up?” She asked and I got up and unpack some of my stuff.

“That’s why you came here. You and Harry broke up.” She said like it was some huge epiphany. “Not really breaking news Kim.” I said and looked at the clock. “It’s late and I want to sleep since I have therapy tomorrow.” I told her and she understood and walked towards the door.

Kim made it fairly obvious that she didn’t like me and I don’t really have much of an opinion of her either. I just got here and I understand that she feels like I’m invading her house and her life but I’m not. I just want to get my knee fixed and that’s all.

* * *

“Mackenzie, wake up.” My aunt said as she knocked on my door. “I’m up.” I growled to let her know to stop knocking. I rolled out of bed and looked to see that the clock said 7 am. I hate the morning. I stood up and walked towards my bathroom and washed my face and brushed my teeth. I then went back to my room and went over to my suitcase and picked up a pair of spandex shorts and a tank top. I threw my sweatpants over my shorts and a long sleeved shirt over my tank top.

“Aunt Lisa… oh here you are.” I said as I walked around the main floor of the house and found her in the kitchen with my uncle. “You ready sweetie? It’s an hour drive away.” Aunt Lisa asked and I nodded.
