She gets stuck in a few sticky situations, that will stay with her the rest of her life. What will her new life become of? How long will the band be on break? What will become of Sam Taylor?

DISCLAIMER: At the beginning of the story, Niall and Zayn cause the band to need to take a break because of arguments within the band. That is not the case! I love them both! <3

4. The Beginning of College

Sam’s POV

I arrived back to my flat and saw that luggage was being moved up to the boy’s floor, and there was a lot of it. I laughed, wondering who it would be. I started pondering what the boys would be like here. I hope they wouldn’t be stuck up. I also saw it looked like the girl whose things were being moved in earlier had arrived. I decided I should probably go introduce myself.

I knocked on the door to her flat next to mine. She opened the door.  She was on the shorter side, and was very tan with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She had a very warming smile on her face that seemed is probably usually there permanently. I couldn’t tell what she was here to study. Usually just by seeing someone I can decide whether they are a singer, dancer, actress, a writer, an instrument player, or a combination. But with this girl, I just couldn’t decide.

“Hi! My name is Sam; it’s great to meet you!” I was putting out my hand when she quickly pulled me in for a hug.

“Hi I’m Justine and I’m so happy to be here and I am so thankful that they allowed me to come on a full scholarship and I’ve always wanted to live in London and I mean our flats are right in front of the London Eye, that is just so amazing and I can’t wait to study music with some of the best in the world and I should probably breathe now…” Justine took a few deep breaths, shook her head laughing at herself, and opened her mouth again. “Sorry about that, I talk a lot when I’m excited. I’m Justine, dancer.”

“I’m Sam, singer, songwriter, actress and guitar player.” Justine smiled and invited me into her flat. “So you’re excited to be in London? Where are you from?” I asked her.

“Oh I’m from New York City. So London isn’t much to get used it. It’s much smaller and less scary than New York. It’s much more beautiful though. I was invited to go to Julliard to study dancing, but I’ve had enough of New York for a while. I needed a chance. What’s your story?

I sighed. “Well, I wouldn’t say I have a story much like that. I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, and every time I was sad or stressed in Elementary school or Middle school, I’d write poems. I started playing guitar as an extra circular in seventh grade, and it became my new outlet. So I started setting my poems to music, and I guess that was my start. I had an okay voice, but took some training to make it better, and apparently I was born a natural at acting. I don’t know how I got a scholarship here, but I am really honored that I did.”

Justine smiled. “Something about you seems to be a really good singer and songwriter. I know you’re here for a reason. And may I just say I feel a beautiful friendship forming this summer. I’m guessing out of five girls that got full scholarships to a performing arts school in London, we’re probably going to be the only two normal ones here.”

I laughed. And I mean, really laughed for the first time since I left home. It finally hit me; maybe I do belong at London School of Performing Arts.

Harry’s POV

I took one final last glance at my room. The giant wood floored place that I had always called my own. The guitars were gone; the bookcase of my music books was gone, everything from the bed to the poster of Megan Fox under my bed was gone. My new life was about to start, and to be honest, I suddenly was very excited for it. My new life was about to begin. I got a full ride – So I’d be living in the building with ten flats in it with four other guys and five girls that also got a full ride.

So I took one last glance at my room, and left, closing the door behind me. Leaving my childhood behind, and growing up into adulthood today. I was no longer just a boy band singer, I’m going to be an adult performer, you know with a degree and stuff!

I looked in the mirror at myself. I no longer see myself as a boy, I am a man. I pulled up my sleeves and started flexing to myself. Winking in the mirror, I needed to get some flirting practice before I met all these college girls.

Although I can’t lie to myself. Since Phil had brought up the name of some girl named Sam Taylor, her name was still stuck in my head. I kept trying to think of what she looks like. Blonde, brunette, redhead? Blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes? I wish I had asked Phil more about her.

But I had to get on my way to start unpacking. I wanted to meet everyone as soon as possible so I could meet some new friends for the summer. I hopped into my car, and started the fifteen minute drive to the college. I listened to some Beyoncé for the whole ride there, and got there after about four songs. I jumped out of the car, and by habit put on my sunglasses and hat. But I then slowly and reluctantly took them off. If I wanted people to take me seriously here and understand I am a real person, I need to act like one.

I looked up into the building, and gathered my courage. I guess after years of being what everyone wanted me to be, I didn’t really know how to be myself anymore. I’ve been a character the last two years. I guess it’s time to learn again who Harry Styles is.

I started walking up the stairs to the boy’s floor, when someone tripped around the corner and crashed into me, dropping her notebooks and pencils as she did. I bent over to pick up her things for her, and she did at the same time as well. We both picked up a few different things, and then we stood up.

My entire world stopped right before me. It was like time had frozen. The first thing I saw on her beautiful face was her eyes. Those eyes looked like the color of electricity if lightning was blue. It was brighter than the Caribbean ocean. I could almost see waves lapping on the shore in her eyes, the ocean with fish and shells and jellyfish too. An entire beach was living in her beautiful eyes.

And her hair, it’s like it set my heart and soul on fire. She had strawberry blonde hair that was pulled up in a messy bun; she looks as though she had been working on something important. There were small strands of hair hanging by the sides of her perfectly angled cheek bones. They were slightly blushed, and I couldn’t decipher whether it was makeup or whether she was blushing because of running into me.

Her smile, wow. It was captivating. I couldn’t stop looking at her face in general. I momentarily forgot who I was. So that’s why she’s blushing, because she’s meeting the oh-so-famous Harry Styles. But being with her, I know it’s only been about ten seconds, but I felt like a real human being now. Not a famous plastic Ken doll, but me. I was finally me.

“Hi,” said the girl breathlessly. “I’m Sam, Sam Taylor.” My heart stopped beating again. This beautiful girl, I am going to be living with her? And working with her? I was just staring at her. She giggled a little, “Uh, hello?” she asked.

So time hadn’t actually frozen, awkward. “Hi, I’m Harry!”

“Nice to meet you Harry,” she said with a big smile on her face. She wasn’t freaking out, no fangirling or asking for auto graphs. This girl was real.

Maybe a break from the band wasn’t going to be such a terrible thing after all. After all, I do need an education!
