Louis Doesn't Have To Know

Sophie Ayers never intended on meeting Louis, yet she was so thankful that she did. He showed her what it was to love, and how it was to BE loved. He healed her broken heart, and did it with that gorgeous smile on his face. But when Danielle and Liam break up and Sophie goes to comfort him, he tells Sophie it was because Danielle suspected him of having feelings for HER...and that his ex girlfriend wasn't wrong. Sophie soon finds herself caught in an addictive web of lies, schemes, and cheating. She falls in love with BOTH One Direction boys, and is unable to choose one over the other. Liam has an idea though: Louis doesn't have to know...right?

7. Whiskey

Still at Liam's home:

"Liam are you going to keep me guessing or are you going to tell me?" Sophie asked Liam yet again, getting annoyed that he hadn't finished his thought and was now staring at her like an idiot. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Alright then, you don't have to tell me." She scanned the table in front of her and almost reached for the unused (thank God) blunt, but decided against it at the last second, instead grabbed the bottle of whiskey. She pulled the top off and took a good swig, loving the familiar burn against her throat. Liam let his jaw drop and laughed meekly at her.

"Sweet Jesus that's good stuff" Sophie said hoarsely, the burn still lingering in the back of her throat. "I haven't had whiskey since a stupid party I went to with my sister when I was sixteen."

Liam laughed sadly, "Which was what, two years ago?"

She elbowed him playfully and replied, "No, three actually!" He laughed back at her a little more genuinely and she smiled. This was progress.

She looked back at the table and saw the five brown beer bottles. "Please tell me you didn't drink all five of those beers and you're still standing, because if so, you're a fucking god" At that, Liam actually threw his head back in laughter, tears pricking at his eyes. He wiped them away shamelessly and finally turned his face to hers.

"Hell no. I drank half of one and that's it. They're all still full."

"Are you serious?" Sophie replied in surprise. She handed him the whiskey and leaned forward to pick up one of the brown beer bottles and sure enough, it was full. She chuckled and leaned back towards him, "That is so sad, you can't even drink when you're depressed!"

Liam's smile faded. "Danielle was always afraid for me to drink, even just a little bit, because of my kidney problems" He said solemnly. Sophie looked at him sadly, feeling so sorry for him. She had only met Danielle once or twice, and she'd seemed like a really nice girl. They were so cute together too, like the perfect couple. Impulsively, she scooted over closer to him, grabbing his hand and laying her head on his shoulder. At first he tensed up, but after a second or two he finally relaxed, and even put his arm around her, resting his hand on her shoulder cautiously.

They sat like this for a minute or two, and Sophie couldn't help but cry a little bit. Liam was one of her favorites in the band (besides Louis obviously) because he was always so immature and yet so grown up at the same time. He took care of everyone all the time, and now he needed someone to take care of him. It was so sad.

She sat up and moved her head off of his shoulder, turning her whole body on the couch to face him, and she saw that silent tears were streaming down his face as well. When she'd sat up, he hadn't taken his hand off of her, but just moved it down to hold her hand, very sweetly. She didn't mind.

"Liam, I'm so sorry. You don't deserve this. You're the sweetest guy I've ever met and if Danielle can't see that then she's blind. I know I haven't been around you guys too long but I already feel such a connection with each of you and I just--"

She was interrupted as his lips violently crashed into hers.
