9. So Right, So Wrong

Liam's Flat, 3:10 a.m.:

Liam didn't know what had overcame him. Sophie had turned her whole body to him on the couch, and he knew that she was probably saying really nice and comforting things to him, but he wasn't hearing a word. He couldn't stop staring. Her eyes were red around the edges from crying for him, and her silky smooth cheeks had tear streaks on them. Her wavy blonde hair was framing her face, but it looked more like a light brown in the harsh light of his living area. Her hazel eyes were twinkling and bright with life.

Within a matter of seconds, he had a hard on. This kind of thing didn't happen to him, he had just gotten dumped for Christ's sake, and now he was getting turned on by his best mate's girl! It was wrong on so many levels, and yet he couldn't quite figure out why.

His brain finally turned on and he heard her say, "...but I already feel such a connection with each of you and..."

Her passionate and kind words stirred something deep down inside his gut, and before he could even think straight, he was leaning forward to crash his lips onto her own.

Sophie was completely caught off guard, not quite realizing what was happening. Liam's mouth was on hers, but why? It was Liam, for crying out loud, one of her best friends. She was in total shock and she didn't kiss him back, but she didn't pull away either. Suddenly Liam broke the kiss for a fraction of a second, whispering "Soph..." against her mouth.

That one mutter of her name did something to her. It didn't make any sense, but she didn't give a damn. It sounded so right, like any other utterance of her name would pale in comparison. His voice was breathy, and she could taste him on her lips. She could taste the maltiness from the beer, but also something else. It was a unique flavor, she'd never tasted it before. Her brain clicked slightly and she realized that it was just Liam. He was his own taste, and it was so...right. And yet so dangerously wrong.

She hadn't even conciously made the decision to slide into his lap and wrap her hands around the back of his neck, it had just sort of happened as she thought over him. They weren't kissing now, but their lips were just centimeters away from each other, their staggered breaths entermingling in the space between them. She arched her chest into him, and she felt his hard on through his sweats and onto her bottom.

Yet again, he murmed "Soph" but this time it was full of longing, mixed in with hurt. He closed the little distance between their mouths and instantly plunged his tongue into her mouth, which she eagerly accepted. She felt him lick the insides of her cheek, the back of her teeth, the roof of her mouth. It was like his tongue was everywhere!

She moaned into the kiss, and he pushed her jacket off her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor. He reached up her tanktop and his hands shakily touched her stomach, making her heart flutter like never before. His hands inched upwards even further, until he was touching her bare breasts, kneading them and giving her a ridiculous amount of pleasure. She gripped his neck even tighter and arched her chest into his hands, which were groping her relentlessly. They were still making out heavily, and it was the best kissing of her entire life. They explored each other's mouths endlessly. He was so different from Louis, so--

Holy shit, Louis! Sophie's mind finally came back on like a lightbulb, and she realized she was kissing Liam, her boyfriend's best friend! Not just kissing, but having foreplay with! Her eyes shot open and she squeaked, breaking the kiss with Liam and jumping off of him, almost tripping over the coffee table. She regained her balance though, and straightened her tanktop back over her now aching breasts, covering them with crossed arms.

She uncrossed one arm and rubbed her swollen lips from the kissing, squinting her eyes, trying to grasp what had just happened. Liam was leaning forward in pain over his hard on. She felt bad, knowing it was sometimes painful for guys to just suddenly stop after getting all hot and bothered, but it'd had to stop. She was with Louis for crying out loud. She'd just had sex with him for the first time not under five hours ago!

"Shit, shit, fucking shit" she mumbled to herself, beginning to pace in the small living area.

"I'm...sorry" Liam said through clenched teeth, still clutching at himself but not in as much pain as before.

"What the hell was that?! We don't do that Liam!" Sophie shouted, raising her arms in exasperation before crossing them again quickly, remembering she was without a bra.

"I said I'm sorry Soph" he replied sadly, standing up shakily. His erection had started to go down, but it was still apparent through his sweats. He took a step towards her, to which she returned him a step away. He looked incredibly hurt for a moment, with his hand stretched out to her. He let it drop and shoved both of his hands in his pockets and looked at the ground sadly.

Sophie rocked back and forth on her heels uncomfortably. "Erm..." she had no clue what she could possibly say to him at that point.

"Damn Danielle!" he suddenly shouted angrily, turning around and kicking the side of the couch violently. "How the fuck did she know when I didn't even know?!" He asked this to no one in particular, and Sophie's jaw dropped. Liam hardly ever dropped the f-bomb, and when he did it was never in the presence of a woman.

"Know what?" she asked him quietly, taking a very cautious step towards him, not wanting to get to close for fear that he would kiss her again, but wanting to know what his outburst had meant.

He turned around on his heel to face her, and they gazed into each other's eyes for a brief second. His were full of confusion, longing, despair.

He took in a deep breath. "She knew I was falling for my best mate's girl." he stated simply. "That's why she broke up with me. I think I'm falling in love with you Soph."
