Louis Doesn't Have To Know

Sophie Ayers never intended on meeting Louis, yet she was so thankful that she did. He showed her what it was to love, and how it was to BE loved. He healed her broken heart, and did it with that gorgeous smile on his face. But when Danielle and Liam break up and Sophie goes to comfort him, he tells Sophie it was because Danielle suspected him of having feelings for HER...and that his ex girlfriend wasn't wrong. Sophie soon finds herself caught in an addictive web of lies, schemes, and cheating. She falls in love with BOTH One Direction boys, and is unable to choose one over the other. Liam has an idea though: Louis doesn't have to know...right?

2. Backstage at the Fashion Show

Winter 2012:

Sophie's phone vibrated in the pocket of her White North Face jacket. She rolled her eyes as she briskly walked down the busy New York City block, knowing exactly who was calling her. She took her phone out of her pocket anyway and answered her older sister Ashton.

"Ash, I told you I'm on my way. I didn't decide to stop for pizza, I promise."

Ashton whined through the phone. Sophie was four years her junior, at 19, and yet she was about a thousand times more mature than Ashton. "The show is starting in fifteen minutes Soph, and you said you were going to come see me backstage before we begin!"

"I'm going to be there alright, I'm just two blocks away." Sophie replied calmly, like always. She didn't get worked up over everything like Ashton did, she was very mellow.

"Well tell your cab driver to hurry his ass up!"

"I'm not in a cab Ash, I'm walking."

Sophie had to hold the phone away from her ear so as not to have permanent eardrum damage from her sister's shouting.

"You're not in a cab?! What the fuck do you think you're doing walking around in New York fucking City at nighttime, when it's below fucking freezing outside?! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

As Sophie let her sister get out her rant, she put the phone back to her freezing cold ear and replied, "I'm walking because I didn't want to take a cab. Not a big deal Ash. I've got the pepper spray on me that you got for my birthday. And I'm going to be there in time, I promise. I'm only a block away now."

Ashton was very quiet on the other end of the phone for a minute or two. "Soph...are you having money troubles?" she asked sincerely.

Sophie laughed, "Of course I'm having money troubles Ash, the economy sucks in case you haven't noticed. Everybody's having money troubles."

"You know that's not what I mean, Soph. You know I can--"

"Oh would you look at that, I'm here! With..." Sophie glanced at her watch. "Ten minutes to spare! Now where the hell am I supposed to go?" she asked as she looked up at the huge building that was hosting the fashion show on the other side of the street, with paparazzi everywhere.

Ashton forgot all about what she was saying before, squealing on the other end of the line. "Oh yay, yay, yay! Okay, just walk up to the chick outside the door, and tell her your name and they'll bring you right back her to the dressing room. Ah, I can't wait! Okay I gotta go now, see you in a couple minutes bye!" And then the line went dead.

Sophie chuckled to herself as she put the phone in her pocket and began walking across the street. Ashton was so flighty, but that was one of the things she loved about her big sister the most.

Just barely avoiding being hit by a taxi driver while she illegally J-walked, Sophie finally reached the red velvet walkway up to the lady outside the door that Ashton had said she needed to talk to. Paparazzi were everywhere, but thankfully they weren't taking any pictures of her. Not that they would, she wasn't famous or anything. Not yet.

Sophie walked up to the woman and said, "Hi I'm Sophie Ayers, here for Ashton Ayers."

"Oh yes!" she said with a smile on her face. "Alex, will you direct this young lady backstage to Ashton Ayers? She's all clear."

A young man about her age stepped out towards Soph and smiled. "Come on this way." he said, and gestured for her to follow him.

She smiled and followed him in the beautiful building and through a side door. Suddenly they were in a narrow hallway where tons of models were running about, talking, laughing, yelling. Some of them were stark naked, and acted like it was totally normal. Sophie was used to this though, having been to several of her sister's shows. Ashton had been a model for six years now, since she was 17. Their parents didn't exactly support her career path, but Ashton enjoyed what she did, so her sister was always there for her.

"Alright, if you go down that hall and take a right, she should be in the second dressing room on the left." Alex said into Sophie's ear so that she could hear him over the talking of the models and the blaring music. She turned to him and mouthed a thank you before heading in her sister's direction, whom she hadn't seen in a month.

She very skillfully made her way through all of the tall, gorgeous models running around and getting ready. And right as she rounded the corner to the right just like Alex told her, Sophie ran into someone. She managed not to fall down, and neither did the other person. They had hit heads though, and Sophie took a step back and said, "Oww", her hand clutching her already throbbing forehead.

"Oh my gosh, love are you alright? I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying any attention at all!" This was a male voice with a sexy British accent and Sophie realized that she had ran into a dude. She let out a sigh of relief that she hadn't pissed off some bitchy bleach blonde bimbo like she'd originally thought. The young girl opened her eyes slowly, still holding her head, which was really starting to hurt.

The guy was standing in front of her, bending his knees just a tad so that he could be at eye level with her.

Holy shit, he is drop dead fucking gorgeous she thought to herself. And he was, with his blue-green eyes, tan skin, and messy brown hair.

"Uh, yeah, I'm alright I s'pose" she mumbled in response to him, averting eye contact because she was so incredibly awkward around cute guys. She took her hand off of her head and blinked a few times to clear the lightheadedness.

"I'm so sorry, really." he said, "Let me introduce myself. I'm Louis Tomlinson." he stuck out his hand confidently and flashed Sophie a toothy smile.

Sophie's eyes lit up in recognition, realizing who he was. "Oh hey, you're one of those guys!" she said to him, making him chuckle.

"Yeah I guess you could say that. And what's your name love?" he flashed her another smile and she thought she might go weak at the knees. One of the One Direction boys, who was incredibly fit, was actually wanting to have a conversation with her.

"Oh, sorry. My name is Sophie Ayers." she finally spit out with a smile, taking his still outstretched hand and shaking it.

He smiled again and said thoughtfully, "Well Sophie Ayers, it's very nice to meet you." He kept shaking her hand and she couldn't help but notice how incredibly warm it was.

"It's nice to meet you too." she said.

"So tell me love, why are--"

"HOLY SHIT DID SOMEONE JUST SAY SOPHIE AYERS?" Sophie recognized the familiar shout of her big sister the second she heard it, and cringed a bit, upset that her moment with this incredibly hot and internationally famous pop star was being interrupted. Louis (who was still shaking her hand, and making no motions to let go), turned to face Sophie's tall, red headed older sister, who was running down the hallway towards them, barreling over all the other models and not caring a bit. Sophie cringed even more when she saw that all Ashton was wearing was fire truck red lingerie. Fantastic.

Ashton proceeded to push Louis out of the way, and attacked her younger sister in a fierce hug, yelling in her ear that it had been too long since they'd seen each other last, and how dare she be late, and she looked fantastic, and so on and so forth. Sophie tried to get out of her grip to say something to Louis again, but by the time she was able to look over Ashton's shoulder, he was gone.

Damn it Ashton, you just have to love me so much, don't you? she thought to herself, shaking her head, hoping she saw the popstar again someday.

Ha, unlikely, she thought to herself yet again before she went back to conversing with her sister for a couple minutes before the fashion show began.
