7. "Kidnap? I prefer the term; suprise adoption"

I woke to someone shaking me awake. My eyes slowly opened and as they did, tears rolled down my cheeks. Had I been crying? I caressed the back of my head. It ached in pain. I had never had a migraine like this before. I groaned and winced. When I pulled my hand away from head I looked at it in shock. Blood.

I panicked and sat straight up, looking around desperately.

"Shh, Krissy. It's okay," a voice cooed. I jumped, surprised.

It was just Colton. He was sitting against the wall. I guess I had been lying on him.

We were in a room that I did not recognize. It was quite small, the walls were painted a dark shade of grey. There was a tall, metal door on the wall beside where we laid and a small window on the wall across from it. Although, the the window was not high, but low. It was closer to the ground and did not look outside the building, but into another room. The room was filled with nothing but the two sleeping bags that we seemed to be sitting on.

"Where are we!?"

"I don't know," Colton said sadly. His voice scared me, as if he'd lost hope in any escape.

"What happened?"

Colton leaned forward and grabbed me by the waist. He gently pulled me against him and stroked my hair soothingly.

"He had a gun to your head, Krissy. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't see you get hurt. I did what he said and then he hit you over the head with the gun," he tried to keep a strong face but I could see the sadness in his eyes.

"Who is he?" I asked.

"I didn't recognize his face, I was hoping you would."

I just shrugged. I hadn't had a chance see his face yet and I was hoping that I never would.

"He drove us here, I think it's an abandoned factory of some kind, and here we are. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you, Baby Girl," he said sadly.

I shook my head.

"No Colton this isn't your fault. But he was going to take me anyways, you should have ran. Saved yourself."

He kissed the top of my head. "There was no way I was going to do that. You'd be here alone."

I didn't say anything because, as selfish as it sounds, I was really happy that Colton was here with me. I probably couldn't go through this alone. I just got him back, I didn't want to loose him again. I just cuddled against his chest and inhaled deeply, trying to calm down. I loved the way he smelled. Always like mint and earth. It was very calming.

We stayed like this for what seemed like forever, embracing each other. But it wasn't long enough when we were interrupted by a door slamming shut. I looked up to Colton in concern and he tensed.

"They're back," he said.

"They?" I didn't like the sound of that.

"There's three of them. But I've only ever seen the one face. You can overhear them talking from here," he explained.

Colton pushed me off of him so that he could move to the window. I followed him. As I looked out the window I saw a way larger room, it looked like the entrance of the building. I could see that we were in a higher up room, looking down.

Colton was right. Three guys stood in the center of the room, standing around a very long table. I couldn't see there face due to the fact that they all had there backs to me but from here, none of them looked familiar. One was very tall and had ashy blond hair. The second one was a little shorter with sleek black hair. The last one was very well built and had light brown hair.

"What are they-" Colton cut me off.

"Shh, listen."

I did as he said and pressed my ear up against the window to try and hear what they were saying. They wern't talking though, they were whispering. I couldn't hear a word. My guess was that they were plotting and that couldn't be good.

"I can't-"

Colton cut me off again by holding up his hand, telling me to be silent.

Then they started talking, not whispering.

"You know what to do," the black haired guy nodded to the well built one, "Get the girl."

The built guy nodded and was soon out of sight.

Colton tensed and his jaw set tight. He didn't hesitate to roughly pull me behind him. He pushed us back so my back was against the wall and his back was tight against me.

Footsteps came from down the hall and slowly became louder until they were right outside the door. My eyes went wide and my heart raced. I cringed and dug myself deeper into Colton's back.

"Everything's going to be okay, Baby Girl. Just stay behind me, no matter what. Understand?"

I just nodded but even I could hear the doubt in Colton's voice.

I heard the door being unlocked and I gasped. Then I realized how stupid I was being. If they wanted me dead, they would have killed me already. I wasn't going to die. Not yet at least. I was stronger than this. I needed to be brave. The door opened and then I lost all my confidence again.

The scariest looking guy of the three walked in the room. He looked around until he spotted us in the corner. He chuckled, obviously amused. I swear, if this was a movie then this guy would definitely be stereotyped as the idiot. But I had to remind myself that this wasn't a move; this was real life.

"I need the girl," he said, still chuckling.

"She's not going anywhere," Colton growled.

"Too bad for you, mate. Boss's orders. Hand her over."

"Go to hell." Colton was glaring at him. If looks could kill...

The guy shrugged. "Your loss." Then he punched Colton right in the gut. Colton doubled over in pain but he didn't leave his spot.

I screamed. "Don't hurt him!"

"Then come here, love. And your little boyfriend will be fine."

My stomach dropped but I knew I had to go anyway. I took a step away from Colton and the guy gripped my arm tightly. Colton quickly grabbed my other wrist and tried to pull me back to him.

"Don't touch her!" he meanced.

The guy didn't hesitate. He punched Colton right in the jaw. Colton lost his grip on me.

"NO!" I screamed as loud as I could.

"I'm here, I'm coming! Just leave him alone!" I yelled in the guy's face. He slapped me hard across the face. My cheeks burned as I caressed it.

"You're dead," Colton threatened.

Before Colton had the chance to do anything else stupid, the guy pulled me along, out the door, locking it behind him.

His nails dug into my arm, drawing blood. I winced in pain but he just pulled me faster down the hall. It wasn't a far walk until I was in the lower room I'd seen before. I looked up behind me and saw Colton looking down on me against the window. I knew I had to be strong.

In front of me, were the other two guys. Their backs were to me. I needed to know what they looked liked. They both turned around at the same time and I swear, my mind went into overload. I was looking a two very familiar faces.

The first guy with the black sleek hair had haunted my dreams for the past few months. Yes, the guy who had tried to force himself on me and had shot Colton, was standing before me. I wanted to scream, to run away because he had hurt me once, and I knew what he could do but at the same time I wanted to charge at him. I wanted to hurt him, kick him, hit him. Hell, I wanted to really kill this guy. It was because of him that Colton was put into the hospital, with me not knowing if he's ever wake up. It was because of him that I was sent to that hell hole, abandoned by my father. It was his fault for ruining my life. I could tell that Colton recognized him too as I could hear him banging in the windows and his muffled yells.

The second one, who was very tall with ashy coloured hair, was even more familiar to me. I was really angry that someone like this would betray me. "Ben!?" Yes, Kyle's right hand man. Rhi's- somewhat- boyfriend. I've known this guy for months and I never suspected him! I had suspected Kyle, and now I felt guilt. He was just trying to be a nice guy and win my friendship and instead, I suspected him of kidnapping.

There was no doubt in my mind that Amber's disappearance had something to do with this.

"Hello, Krissy," Ben smirked at me.

"What the hell!? I trusted you! I thought-"

"That Kyle took Amber?" he cut me off.

I wanted to march up to him and mack the smug smirk right off his face! "Yes I know. You see, when I heard you wern't going to attend that party, I took it as my first opportunity. I went to your room that night, telling Kyle I was sick. Although, when I got to your room, you wern't there. Amber was in your place. So I took her, sending you a message. A message that I was coming. For you."

"Why?" was all I could say.

He shrugged. "Boss's orders."

I looked at the 'boss'. His eyes bore into mine. I wanted to run all the way back to Colton. He took a step closer to me and caressed my cheek. I tried to take a step back but the guy just tightened his grip on my arm, pulling me forward, then he let go of me. There was no use in running, they surrounded me and I couldn't leave Colton.

"Little Miss Krissy Evans, my it has been a while," he spoke. I froze completely still. I couldn't move. "Yes, that's right. I know everything about you."

"Who are you and what the hell do you want with me!?" I screamed in his face.

"Now let's be civil about this, shall we? My name is Ryan Chambers. And I want everything about you. I saw you at that party and when I laid my eyes on you, I wanted you. And I always get what I want."

"You know a simple 'hello' like a normal person would have been nice. You didn't have to drag me away."

He grabbed my hair and pulled me up so I was just barely touching the ground. I winced in pain. Again, I could hear Colton above and he did not sound happy.

"You know, love, you should start being a little nicer to me," he warned.

"And why would I do that?" I hissed.

"Because if you don't, I'll shoot your little boyfriend and this time, I won't miss his head."

He slowly put me back on the ground and I wanted nothing more than to hit him. I wanted to spit in his face and scar the wicked face. But I knew I couldn't for Colton's sake.

"What are you going to do with us?"

"Ransom you, kill you, keep you, the possibilities are endless."

"They'll come looking for us. The school will know I'm gone!" I threatened.

He chuckled and rolled his eyes at me in amusement. "You really think they're going to care? The teachers have finally gotten rid of you. Oh, and your daddy doesn't care either anymore, am I right?"

My jaw set tight. I didn't know what to say because he was right. My dad didn't give a shit. I just stared angrily at him.

"That's what I thought."

I did something I knew I would regret, I spat right in his face. Immediately after, I felt another burning sensation in my cheek.

"Logan, take her back!" he ordered.

The built guy, Logan, gripped my arm again and I squirmed in his grasp, screaming. He just rolled his eyes and gripped my waist, slinging me over his shoulder with close to no effort. He carried me through the building, up the stairs and back down the hall.

I could hear him unlock the door. When he opened it, I felt his body being hit back. I tried to look over my shoulder to see. Colton was standing in the doorway, furious. Colton was about to send another hit to the guy but before he could, Logan pulled out a gun and aimed straight at him. Colton immediately backed up with his hands up in defeat.

"No!" I shrieked. The last time Colton had a gun pointed at him, I almost lost him forever. "Put it down!"

Instead of listening to my orders, Logan just threw me into the room without a care. Colton tried to catch me but only had time to mange to cradle my head. The rest of my body fell roughly to the ground.

"Next time, I'll drop you on your head," Logan snarled, warningly. Then he slammed the door loudly behind him.

I tried to be strong but at that moment, I broke down into tears against Colton's chest. I couldn't help but think of the worst to become of us.
