6. Making Mistakes

“Do you all have your tickets?” An anxious Paul looks at all of us, glancing nervously around.

“Yes, Paul, now calm down,” Liam commands with a soothing tone, and lays a hand down on the big guy’s shoulder.

I glance at the other boys, trying not to laugh as they all look funny, as they stare at Liam in awe. I roll my eyes and I walk over to Paul.

“Since we have our tickets, we should go, yeah?”  I mutter, pushing my hair out of my face.

Paul sighs and nods, pushing us in the direction where we need to go. I let the boys walk ahead of me, eyeing them from the back. I notice Paul is glancing side-to-side, watching some teenage girls a little ways away. I notice they are whispering quietly, pointing at the boys, and then when they noticed me they charged off abruptly.

“Paul?” I suddenly ask.

“Yes, Miss Moore?” He replies, watching the boys earnestly.

“First,” I glance at him. “Call me Kyra. Secondly, how much trouble are the boys going to cause in my life?”

Paul snorts, “So much, Kyra, so much. Prepare yourself.”

I laugh and nod at him, turning back to the look at the boys. I squint my eyes, counting with my mind, seeing something is off. 1…2…3…4…just four. Where is number 5?

“Um, Paul, where is...” But I trail off noticing Paul is already leaving my side, walking over to the boys, nervously talking to them.

I sigh and look around the airport and then notice those teenage girls again, and see that they are eyeing me harshly. And then, with no warning, they all give me the bird at the exact time.

And then their eyes widen, just as I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder.

I didn’t know if it is the fact that I got scared shitless or the 10 years of karate that led me to grab the person’s hand, use their momentum against them, flip them over my shoulder, and slam them into the ground.

I glance once at the girls, noticing their horrified looks, before looking at the person before me. My hand flies to my mouth as I kneel down quickly, quickly talking to injured Liam.

“Oh my gosh, Liam, I am so sorry! I didn’t mean to, I just got scared. Oh my gosh, are you okay? Please don’t die on me! I couldn’t handle that, I just-”

“Shut up, Kyra,” Liam mutters, grabbing my arm, pulling himself up.

I clamp my jaws shut and help Liam to his feet, pulling my arms back once I’m done, and wrap them around my body uncomfortably. I notice Paul and the other boys are heading back to us and avert my gaze to the floor.

“Please,” Louis says, once he’s close enough. “Liam, please tell me, that you didn’t just get your ass whooped by a girl?”

“Language, Lou,” Harry says respectively.

Louis just flicks him in the arm.

“Erm, he just surprised me, that’s it. I didn’t mean to do that, you know that right, Liam?” I glance unsurely at Liam.

Liam glances at me, sighs, and then walks away from the group. The boys and Paul rapidly walk after him, but I just watch him, as he passes easily through security.

It seemed, like no matter what, I just kept screwing things up with him. Like, every time I want to be friends, something always happens and prevents it. What is this, effing fate?

Screw fate and damn destiny.

I catch up to the boys, handing my ticket in, before boarding the walkway to the plane. And when I reach the part where you enter the plane, I guess the boys never decided to mention, that we were indeed flying in a personal jet.

My jaw drops as I set foot inside, looking around. I, without thought, start running my fingers over everything just to make sure it is all real.

Randomly, a hand grabs my arm, pulling me away from the front of the plane. And the next thing I know, I’m being forced into a seat. I glance up at Louis, confused, and then I notice all the boys quickly jump into their seats.

All, except, Liam.

And then, just so coincidentally, Liam exits the bathroom.

He looks around, noticing all the seats are taken up.

Except one.

One, the one that is right next to me.

Louis William Tomlinson, you are dead.

I watch, as Liam uncomfortably sits down next to me, and I’m about to speak to him when I notice he has put in his ear buds.

I just sigh and look out the window.

Just wonderful.
