Catch My Breath *Liam Payne Love*

Kyra Moore has always loved fashion.
Though, at first she never got it to be her dream job, that changed one day.
She went to an interview and she got the job.
But her first client, she just thought it would have never been them.
Can she handle the pressure or will she buckle and lose everything?

9. Last First Kiss

I step into the shower, biting my lip harshly as my skins screams, as the water flows over it. But I just stand there, letting the pain take over my reality, and wonder why I took this job.

Eventually, I turn the knob to the left, turning the water off and step out. I grab a towel and wrap it around my small body and walk over to the mirror. I look like complete shit.

My hair is a crazy, stringy mess on my head, and you can still see all the scratches along my body. There are even some bruises forming. But I enjoyed being hurt at that point…since, my whole life it was all I experienced.

It all starting with my father abusing my mother. And then my brother having to take me away from them. And then him joining the army and never returning. And then my ex, the one who has been stalking me lately, telling me that I was the one before cheating on me.

Pain, it’s all I’ve ever known.

And Marcus and Magus barely saved my life.

I step out of the bathroom, my sweater hanging loosely around my shoulders, and my sweats hanging at my knees. But once I notice that Brenda isn’t sitting on the bed, I stop abruptly, watching the fellow person warily.

“Can I help you, Liam?” I ask, walking to my bed, and collapsing onto it.

He doesn’t answer buts stand up and starts pacing the room. I sit up, crossing my legs, and watch him still. He does pause at times, opening his mouth to speak, and then shuts his jaw quickly.

I sigh after minutes of this and stand up. I walk over to him and place a hand on his shoulder.

“Liam, just go, you’re not well.” I mutter, trying to push him in the direction of the door.

He doesn’t budge and I start to get pissed.

“Liam, go!” I say a bit louder.

And then he suddenly grabs my wrists, pulling me against him, not allowing me to move at all.

“Li-Liam, what the hell is going on?” I whisper fearfully.

He doesn’t respond but just stares into my eyes. I notice tears slowly trailing down his cheeks, and he doesn’t bother to wipe them away. He just stares at me, like he’s peering into my soul.

“Liam?” I whisper again, trying to wake him up from this trance.

“Danielle…” He whispers, still holding my wrists tightly.

“Liam, please stop!” I beg.

He blinks, refocusing on me, and then harshly shoves me away from him. I squeal as I fall onto my bed, nearly falling to the ground. And then I hear my door slam into the wall, the vibration moving throughout the floor.

I get back to my feet and with no thought, I run after Liam.

I reach the hallway and I barely see him get into the lift, at the end of the hallway. I sprint like hell, knowing I won’t make it, but not giving up.

And just as the doors start to close, I throw myself into the air, slamming into the cold metal of the lift’s floor. I quickly scramble to my feet, out of the corner of my eyes seeing the doors close, and stare at Liam.

“Kyra, why did you follow me?” Liam asks coldly, no longer the warm Liam I saw before.

“Because…I had to,” I reply. “You called me, Danielle, again.”

Liam’s eyes flicker away and then back.

“You shouldn’t have followed me.” He warns me.

“Oh yah, why is that?” I challenge him.

With no response, he grabs my arms, slamming into the wall of the moving lift. I let out a soft gasp, my bruises aching in response to the slam.

“Because,” Liam says quietly. “I am no good for you.”

After that, he leans in, starting to close the gap between us.

And then the lights go out, the lift stops, and I have my first real kiss.
