7. LeeAnna

Hannah's p.o.v.

I walked into the court room with my head held high. I knew I ha won the battle between me and the court. LeeAnna was mine. I don't care if my parents were her legal second guardians. They were gone. My heart caught in my throat. I blinked away the tears and approached my stand. I was ready to take on whatever they had coming. My thoughts drifted to Liam. I missed him terribly. I love him so much for understanding that I had to do this. Don't get me wrong. I missed him more than the grass missed rain or sunshine. I thought of him on that day I left. Tears were in his eyes. He stood there staring at me. Like his world was crumbling down. I yearned for the day I could see him again. Feel his kiss again. I hopes he hasn't found someone else. I told him he should. He simply shook his head and left it at that. The judge called the courtroom to order. I straightened up fixed my hair and smiled as they brought my niece in. She was very unhappy. Her red face streamed with tears. Her tiny blonde brows were furrowed. She let out a cry as she was passed around. Then she got to me. Her tiny face lit up as she saw me. I cooed at her and she laughed. Sending silly little baby laughs all over the courtroom. It echoed in my ears. Sounding playful and bell-like. The judges talked on an on. I just wanted to hear the final statement. Officially saying I had adopted her and she was mine. So that we could go home to our normal lives again. Well normal for me. She would still say mama. I would know it wouldn't be for me. Her real mom was who she wanted. Unfortunately no matter how hard I tried. I couldn't get her back. Tears sting my eyes as I blink desperately keeping them in. The judge starts talking.
"I hereby award full custody of LeeAnna Pearl Rogers to her aunt and new guardian Hannah." I jumped for joy and grabbed her in a big hug. And with the signing of some papers, we were out of the courtroom. Never to return. I smiles and held LeeAnna close. She smelled like cherries. I hopped in my car as with that, we were headed home. Never to look back. The sun was just setting so I rolled down the windows and turned up the music. Singing loudly made LeeAnna laugh. So that's how the rest of the drive went. Me singing and her either laughing or sleeping. She was so cute. Now to get back to my other baby.
