20. Holly Scally

*Jamie's P.O.V*

My mouth hung wide open in shock. Travel around Europe? With them? I've never even travelled out of London before. Had I heard them right?

"Well?" Niall asked, expecting an answer."I called Uncle Simon earlier and he said he was fine with it as long as the boys and I don't get distracted and jeopardize the music and our performance."

"Crap!" I exclaimed in frustration. I was so confused. I really wanted to go with them but what about my sisters? I couldn't just think of myself.

"Excuse me?" Liam asked incredulously, clearly offended. I shook my head, I did'nt mean to offend them.

"I'm sorry. Just...let me think about it, alright? I'm going to James's place to fetch somethine. I'll be back in a few," I told them, walking out for the second time today. A few minutes later, I heard the door open behind me while I was hailing for a cab.

"Is it okay if I tag along?" Niall asked. I nodded, smiling slightly. I slid in first, followed by Niall. I told the driver James' address and stared out the window, watching the raindrops run down.

"What are you thinking?" Niall wondered, his hand over mine. I looked at him. He smiled.

"Nothing," I murmured, looking back out the window. I was glad that Niall didn't pester me anymore.

We rode in silence the whole way there. When we finally did reach James's, I was about to pay the fare when Niall stopped me and paid it. What a gentleman. "Thank you," I murmured, before getting out of the cab. I waited for Niall to get out too and he offered his hand to hold. I accepted, intertwining our fingers together, resting my head on his shoulder as we walked up the steps to knock on James's door. My head was spinning. The door swung open, revealing James, who smiled as soon as he saw me. He pulled me into a hug, squishing me. He had grown since the last time I saw him.

"Hiya!" I greeted cheerfully. I tried to ignore the pounding at the back of my head.

"Hi," he breathed. "You look cracking," he complimented, grinning. I felt Niall tense up slightly beside me. I wrapped my arm around his tightly, looking up at him and smiling until I felt his body relax.

I smiled at him. "Thank you. You look great too."

"Well come in!" James invited. We wiped the bottom of our shoes on the doormat, before stepping in. It was much warmer in here. "Please, make yourself comfortable. Would you like some tea?"

I nodded quickly. Maybe some tea would help. He ushered Niall and I to the sofa, inviting us to take a seat before heading to the kitchen.I wondered who the person that he had mentioned in the text was. That's when I heard a door open and footsteps behind me. Niall and I stood up out of courtesy. Then, she walked into view. She was gorgeous. Tall, blonde and she had a wonderful smile. Her eyes widened as she saw Niall. She must recognise him from One Direction.

"Hi there, I'm-Niall?" she asked incredulously.

"Holly?" he replied with the same amount of shock. They laughed. They must know each other. He let go of my hand to hug her, twirling her in the air. He put her on her feet as she giggled, tucking her golden hair behind her ear.

"I haven't seen you in ages!" Niall exclaimed, excited. I should give them some time alone, I thought, so I went to the kitchen. Maybe I could help James out. I wondered how they knew each other.

"Hey, need any help?" I offered, looking out the kitchen.

"Actually, everything's fine. Just waiting for the water to boil. Would you like to take your belongings back?"

I nodded and he led us out of the kitchen. Holly and Niall were engaged in a conversation but they stopped when they saw us. Holly came to stand beside James, kissing him on the cheek. I went over to Niall, standing beside him.

"You two know each other?" James asked.

Niall nodded, grinning. "Yeah. She was my ex-girlfriend," he replied. I tried not to feel envious but it was hard. She was tall and slender and virtually perfect. Me on the other hand..well, not so perfect. James nodded and Holly smiled at me, extending a hand.

"I'm Holly Scally. It's nice to meet you," she introduced herself, smiling. She had an Irish accent too, similar to Niall's. I smiled, taking her hand and shaking it.

"I'm Jamie. It's nice to meet you too." It got silent for a while.

"Holly's my girlfriend. I met her while the band was on tour. She's amazing," James said, looking down to meet Holly's eyes. She beamed up at him, pecking his lips. They were absolutely smitten with each other - which was lovely. After a while, James cleared his throat and turned to look at me, his cheeks turning a bright pink. He chuckled, embarassed. "Come on," he invited, letting go of Holly who went over to sit next to Niall on the sofa. I followed him into the room, sitting on the bed that I previously slept on before I moved in with Niall. I looked around. Everything still looked the same. Meanwhile, James sifted through a pile of books on the floor.

"Ah! Here it is," he exclaimed, taking something and sitting down on the bed beside me. "Here," he said, handing it to me.

"My diary!" I exclaimed, relieved. I had managed to get it back from my house when I snuck in while my father was out. I didn't want him reading my thoughts. I thought I lost it. Then, my eyes widened. "You didn't read it, did you?" I asked James.

He chuckled. "Of course not," he replied. I sighed in relief. I wrote all my memories in here. The ones that we were worth remembering anyway. Like the day I first met Niall.

"Thank you." I kissed his cheek. He looked at the necklace he gave me around my neck. I picked it up with my fingers.

"It looks good on you," he complimented, staring into my eyes.

I smiled. "I love it," I told him, gratefully. It was beautiful and I've never taken it off since. He was still staring at me.

He looked away. "Nothing," he mumbled. He stood up, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"We should hang out more often. Would you like to go out for lunch with me?" he asked.

I was about to say 'yes' when I remembered the offer the boys had made earlier. "I can't," I told him, closing my eyes. "I want to but.."

Should I tell him?

"I'm going out of London. I'm going on tour around Europe. With the boys," I told him. His smile faltered slightly.

"Oh. That's ace," he said, smiling again. He hugged me. I was relieved that he was happy for me.

"Yeah," I agreed, once he let me go. "Will you do me a favour?" He nodded. "Help me take care of my sisters until I get back?"

"Always," he answered. I smiled.

"Thank you," I said again. James was a great guy. Holly was lucky to have him. "We should probably get going soon."

"Why?" he asked, confused.

"I think your water has boiled," I told him, chuckling.

"Oh..." We walked out of the room, making small-talk, when we got to the living room. And there, on the sofa, I saw Holly straddling Niall. And they were kissing. I felt a myriad of emotions. But above all, I was confused. And hurt.
