It wouldn't be the Same Without You

Who would've thought a shy girl could steal the heart of funny-boy Louis Tomlinson? He brings out a shining light in her, and they fall harder and harder for each other... Until something tears them apart...

24. Almost gone

Alesha's POV
'My feet pounded the wet asphalt and my breath came out in small gasps. The streets were lit only by the moonlight, making the path ahead of me near impossible. I could feel the pursuer getting closer. I could feel the blade digging into my bare back and their breath on my neck, raising the hairs on my back. I tried to continue moving my feet forward, but they wouldn't move. It was like they were nailed to the ground. I jerked my legs, swiveling my head back and fourth, keeping an eye on the nearing, faceless pursuer. I forced my throat to let out a scream, but no sound came out, like my voice had disappeared into the shadows and my mouth and dissolved. I clawing at my mouth, trying to force it open, but there was no mouth there, just a slight dint in the smooth layers of skin.
I panicked. Tears sprung to my eyes and I turned once again to the pursuer. This time, they had a face. The face of Louis.'

Louis' POV
"A 17 year old female. Stab wounds to the chest. We need an operating theatre right away!"
I ran beside her bed, never letting go of her limp hand. The blood had spread over her chest, gashing from the wound over her heart. Her face was pale, and her lips were slowly growing blue.
The tears spilled down my face. Manly, I know. I just couldn't lose her. I- there's no words to describe how I would feel if she was gone. All I know is, I wouldn't be the same, ever again. She was that missing part of me- my soulmate.
She was pushed around a corner and rushed through a set of double doors, my hand letting go of hers. The doctors were yelling, ordering each other around. Then I heard the beep. The beep that meant her heart had stopped.
