An Old Friend

Summer and Harry know each other since ever. They had great moments together but they don't talk anymore like before since he got famous. When Harry finally comes back to Holmes Chapel, he finds Summer and remember an old feeling: he loves her.

8. Worst dinner.

I took a shower and wore a flowery dress. My mom asked me to get pretty for Scott. I didn't want to, but she insisted. I asked her the real reason for Scott come here early. She said the same story that Scott said. I just can't believe in both of them and I'm really sad because my mom is lying to me.

It must to be Scott. I go open the door, because my mom is still getting ready. I have to admit: he's really beautiful tonight. I smile and he gives me a kiss on the cheek. "Hi, Summer. You're pretty," he says. "Come in," I reply, blushing. We sit on the sofa and I try to make some distance by him. He can't stop smiling. He's weird. "So my mom invited you?," I finally say something. "Yeah," he answers, "and I'm really glad to be here." "Cool," I give him a fake smile.

My mom arrives and greets Scott. We all sit at the table, Scott by my side. My mom ordered for us a pizza. We start to eat and we all keep in silence for a while. Suddenly, my mom says, "Summer, why don't you and Scott go together to prom?" I'm going to kill her. "Huh, I... Well, Harry is going with me," I say. "Can he enter if he's not a student anymore?," Scott asks. Okay, I'm going to kill my mom and Scott. "Of course he can," I say, looking at the pizza, "By the way, he was a student there, so technically he can go."

An awkward silence is kept in the air after this. I can't believe that my mom is doing this to me. What she wants by doing all of this? I try to keep myself like a nice person, smiling all the time. Sometimes, I notice that Scott keeps staring at me. After some minutes of an awkward silence, my mom asks Scott what are his plans of college. The conversation flowed after that. We only talked about high school and college, but I thanked God for this anyway.

When the dinner finally finishes - and it took ages -, my mom goes to the kitchen for wash the dishes, leaving me and Scott alone. "Well, I think it's my time to go now," he says and smiles. I follow him to the balcony outside. Scott smiles and gives me a quick hug. Suddenly, he starts to get closer and I know what he wants to do. "Scott," I whisper. "Hm?," he mutters. "What are you doing?" "Something I always wanted to do," he smiles and gets even closer. His hands rest in my waist and I shiver. When his lips are close to mine, I turn my head. "I can't do this," I say, taking off his hands of me. I distance myself from him. "Good night," I say, closing the door before he answers something.
