Meet Me in the Meadow

Dreams are like fireflies. You have to catch them in order to see the beauty, but once they stop lighting up, they die. That sums up my life. An eighteen year old girl, who sits alone everyday in the same spot wondering what to do with her life. If anyone wants to save me from ending it, tell them to meet me in the meadow. I bet you no one will show up.

51. Meet You In The Meadow

The air was absolutely silent. I sat under the tree, with my cap and gown on. I choose not to celebrate with my classmates, cause there was truly nothing to celebrate. I cannot stop thinking of that sign that those girls held up. It warmed my heart that someone cared about me. I looked over at the big boulder next to me. It mocked me of all the times I tried to end my life, but it never ended up to happen, because of an obstacle. The obstacle however might of been the best thing in my life besides my mother. He saved more than just my life, he saved my soul. He turned a depressed teenager who didn't know who she was, to a girl with so much pride in what she has in her life. Even if one day we separate and go on different paths, I will never forget him, and I will love him forever.

Two little knots of the ropes are still tied around the same branch. The sight of them makes me sick to my stomach, thinking of the times where I thought it was the end, that I had no where else to go. Tears spilled out of my eyes, my hands quickly wiping them away. This is not a time to cry, Amelia. This is a time to be happy for what God has given you. You have the best boyfriend in the entire world, and a best friend who you have loved basically all of your life. What more could you ask for? I look up at the sky, a small smile appearing on my face.

"Mom if you are listening, I'd like to thank you for not letting me go up there so soon. Thank you for putting who I have now in my life, because without them, I don't know if I could have made it. You led them to me, to help me. I am so grateful for all that you have done up there. I love you so much." I whispered, more tears spilling from my eyes.

My hands traced the thin soft grass, taking in the summer air. Suddenly the sound of rusting grass fills the air, causing me to jump in my spot. I search the meadow but see absolutely nothing. Shivers race down my spine at the thought of someone being there watching me. I suddenly spot a head of curly brown hair and smile to myself. I see a toned face smile back at me, his legs guiding him towards me. When he reached me, he sat down right beside me, pulling me into his lap.

"You know, it's a beautiful day out." Harry whispered in my ear, pulling a loose strand of my hair behind my ear.

"Yeah, it is." I replied, gripping the grass with my clammy hands.

"But it's not as beautiful as you." He smiled, causing me to playfully smack his arm.

"You are so cheesy, Styles!" I giggled, leaning my head against his chest.

"Hey, you know you love it!" He shouted at me, causing me to laugh slightly, nodding my head in agreement.

I tilted my head so I could look into his emerald green eyes. I suddenly put a very serious face on, which caused Harry to cock his head to the side in confusion.

"Thank you." I muttered to him softly.

"For what, love?" He questioned, planting a soft kiss on my forehead.

"For saving my life." I replied shyly, grabbing his hand and entwining my fingers between his.

He flipped me around, so I was completely facing him while sitting on his lap. I was practically straddling him. He placed a small kiss on my nose, smiling very widely at me.

"Amelia, meeting you in the meadow was the best thing that ever happened to me."

I closed my eyes, and smiled to myself. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm surely glad too that he met me in the meadow, because I would never of been where I am now if he hadn't.
