Meet Me in the Meadow

Dreams are like fireflies. You have to catch them in order to see the beauty, but once they stop lighting up, they die. That sums up my life. An eighteen year old girl, who sits alone everyday in the same spot wondering what to do with her life. If anyone wants to save me from ending it, tell them to meet me in the meadow. I bet you no one will show up.

15. A Friend

I slowly walked through the halls of the school to start off my horrible Tuesday morning. Harry just dropped me off after my meltdown earlier before. Good thing I left early, or I wouldn't have had time to change into new clothes after that slushie smashed me in the face.

I slid through the door of the library, and sat in my usual spot. The little bean bag chair in the corner. It's the most peaceful place in the library, almost no one comes back here. I pull out my Ipod, and plug it into my ears. I then take out my journal, and start to write in it. I write about my dreams, my failures. But most of all, I write about Heaven. How I so much desire to go there right now. How with just one more mistake and I could end it all right now. It all seemed so easy last week. But now it's nearly impossible to think of leaving this earth. I now have something worth living for. Something to hold on to, and fight til near death for. I have him. I have Harry, to keep me standing while I just wish to be knocked down, and to never get back up. He is my savior, and I love him. Wait, did I just say I love him? I swore never to love another person ever again, after My mum died. Everyone else was just mean and cruel, and she was the only one who kept me up. I guess, that Harry just reminds me of my Mother.

I put my journal away, and pulled out my phone. I had one new text message.

Hope you have a great rest of your day. I don't know what I would have done if you didn't forgive me this morning. I have a surprise for you, so can I pick you up after school, love? Miss you

xx Harry xx

I smiled at his text, and replied 'sure.' The bell then rung, and I went off to my next class.

The day went by pretty fast, and smoothly. Nothing bad really happened today. It was almost kind of shocking! I put my books away in my locker, and sat on the bench outside of the school building. I then looked up, and saw a boy who looked my age. He was sitting alone by a tree. It looked as if he was crying. I debated with myself whether I should go talk to him, and ended up finding myself walking towards him.

"Are you okay? You seemed kind of upset." I said to him, sitting down by him quietly.

"No, I'm fine." He muttered, looking down at his shoes.

"Are you sure, because I know for sure that you are not fine. You can talk to me, you know." I smile, causing him to lightly smile back at me.

"Ivy, and her gang, they just give me a tough time, that's all." He said, wiping a quick tear from his eye.

"They say stuff to me all the time, like how I am a 'whore' and a 'tramp'. I just learn to ignore them. They are just a big group of bitches who have no life, other than making other people feel bad about themselves." I tell him, causing him to softly chuckle.

"Thanks, really." He says, now looking up at me.

"No problem..." I start, not sure what his name is.

"My names Mason, Mason Hines." He smiles warmly, reaching his hand out to mine.

I gladly accept it, and smile at him. He has brown hair that swooped just above his chocolate brown eyes. he had braces on his almost perfect teeth that gave this adorable look to him.

"No problem, Mason. I'm Amelia, Amelia Davis." I reply, pulling my curly brown hair to the side.

"Thanks Amelia. You are the first person who has tried talking to me." He says, getting up off the ground.

"You are the first person at this school that I actually have tried talking to." I laughed, causing him to laugh along with me.

"Well, I guess I'll see you around. Bye Amelia." He said, kissing me lightly on the cheek, causing me to blush like crazy.

"Bye Mason." I whisper, watching him get into his car and drive off.

I might actually have a new friend. I am proud of that fact.
