Little Things

Jenny is just an average teenage girl who works at a pet store. One day while she's working though a certain boy and his friend appear in the shop. They talk for awhile a start to become really good friends. But will something spark between the friendship? If so, what would others say? How would they react? Would things go good? Or bad? You'll just have to read the story if you want to find out ;)

11. Time Goes Fast

From the next morning, I felt like I was taking part of a race. I couldn't stop for a moment. Waking up, usually late, running to the bus, school, work, Harry’s visit, which sometimes caused a bunch of problem to me, because I usually wrote my homework and things like that during the afternoon, but recently I had to stay up all night to study. And because of that, I was always exhausted, I got up late, and I got a few bad grades. My friends said that I should talk with Harry, or ask him to come a little later, but I’d be stupid to refuse a chance to see him. At the weekends, Harry had recordings and interviews and lot more, so I used the time to be with my family, talk to my friends, write to my blog, practice the dances and study. Almost 2 weeks went like that. One Thursday, Harry and I were playing with my favorite cat in the shop, when the rest of One Direction walked in.

“Oh no.”  Harry whispered. I looked at him questioningly, but he shrugged his shoulders and said: “You’ll see.” I was standing in front of the counter, Harry sat behind it, and the cat was walking on it. I looked at them and smiled as they were walking toward us.

“Now we understand why Harry spends his afternoons in a pet store.” Zayn said.

I kept smiling as they all hugged me, and introduced themselves.

“I know who you are” I laughed “I’m Jenny.”

“What are you guys doing here?” Harry asked as he stood up and walked next to us, with the cat in his hand.

“Well, you didn't introduce us to your lovely girlfriend, so we had to come.” Louis said with a cheeky-evil smile on his face. At the word “girlfriend”, my stomach jumped, and I felt my cheeks turning tomato-red. I looked at the ground and cursed the moment when I decided to put my hair in a messy bun at the top of my head. It usually covered my face, but then I had nothing to hide behind.

“Erm…I’m gonna put back the cat.” I said. Harry gave her to me and I quickly walked away. I avoided the eye contact, so I mainly watched the floor under my feet. While I put her back, I heard the guys talking: “What the hell was that?!” Harry asked.

“I’m sorry mate, but this was too funny. I couldn't miss it.” Louis laughed.

“Yeah, we should have made a picture or something. You’re face was hilarious” Niall said, while he tried to hold back his laughter.

“Yeah, but poor Jenny. It was just as awkward for her as it was for me.”

As I heard my name, I blushed again. ‘OK Jenny you have to calm down! You have to go back, you can’t hide here forever’ I took a big breath and walked back.

“We’re really sorry, Jenny. Not the best way to introduce ourselves, actually we’re very polite boys.” Liam said, with a face that made me laugh.

“Just forget it”

“So, the real reason why we came is that we’re going to leave tomorrow, for a little recording, and we thought that Harry might miss you, so would you like to come to our Friday-night concert?”

I blushed again at that “miss you” part, and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Harry’s threatening look towards Liam.

“Umm…I haven’t got a ticket.”

I clearly remembered that day, when they came out. I was devastated when I found out that all the tickets have been sold out, I literally cried for hours.

“That’s not a problem.” Liam said and handed me 2 tickets.

I looked at him confused, and he laughed.

“Guess you don’t want to come alone. Do you need more than 2?”

“No, but…” I couldn't finish, he cut me off.

“No buts. Just take it, seriously!” I smiled and took the tickets.

“Thank you!”

“Well, I think we’d better go now. Before Harry kills us” said Niall.

We all laughed except for Harry. They hugged me and said goodbye. As soon as they walked out Harry turned to face me: “I’m really sorry. They just wanted to piss me off, and I…”

“Harry, it’s OK.” I laughed. He smiled.

“So who will you come with?”

“Hmm…that’s a hard question. My directioner friends from the dance group have tickets, and my best friends aren't fans, so I have to promise something huge to make one of them come with me. Or I can ask my ex-friend who is a directionator so probably not the best choice.” He burst out laughing.

“Haha, these problems. Although I don’t really understand the difference between a directioner and a directionator. Is it that bad?”

“OMG you don’t know the difference? Where do you live?” I laughed.

“So a directioner is a true fan, who foremost likes your music. If someone likes you just because of your look, that’s a directionator. Usually they say that they are your biggest fans and they don’t even know your names. Is it clear?”

“Haha, girls…” he said in a sarcastic voice.

“Excuse-me?”  I said in stupid-girly voice. We both laughed.

“When will you come back?” I asked.

“Monday night or Tuesday. I’ll definitely visit you.”

We shared a smile, then continued the day as it started.
