Little Things

Jenny is just an average teenage girl who works at a pet store. One day while she's working though a certain boy and his friend appear in the shop. They talk for awhile a start to become really good friends. But will something spark between the friendship? If so, what would others say? How would they react? Would things go good? Or bad? You'll just have to read the story if you want to find out ;)

8. Starbucks

Harry’s POV

“We can walk or go by car.”

“Umm…” She bit her lips and I knew exactly what she had in her mind. She wanted to walk, because we can talk a lot during the way, and eventually it’s the same thing I wanted, but if we walk there’s a bigger chance that someone will see us.

“You don’t want to get caught, do you?” She nodded shyly.

“Don’t worry, let’s go by car.” I led her to my black Range Rover and she laughed.

“I’m not sure which is more conspicuous: walking with Harry Styles, or arriving at Starbucks with this huge car of yours.”

“Let’s walk. I know a way which is less crowded.” She nodded.

The way I knew was a lot longer, but there were barely a few people and they didn't seem to recognize me. Half way I started singing, which made her smile more. I was hoping she’d sing with me, but she didn't

“Don’t you like to sing?”

“Of course I like to. I just…well my voice is terrible.”

“So? So I’m not gonna sing in front of a professional singer.” “

Oh come on!”

“Please?” I made my best puppy face, she laughed at it, and I begun singing again, hoping she’d join me. I sang Up all night from the album, and when I reached the chorus, I gently hit her by her side. She smiled and vegan singing with me shyly. I smiled, but she kept looking at the ground until we finished.

“See? I told you, my voice is horrible.”

“I've heard worse, your voice isn't that bad.”

“That bad? Should I feel better now?” She laughed.

“I’m just saying that you don’t have to be shy, you can sing in front of me.”

Soon we arrived at Starbucks; fortunately, nobody noticed who I was. They were too busy.

“What’d you like to have?” I asked.

“Umm…A caramel cream frappuccino.”

“OK, have a seat, I’ll order.” She went to a table at the corner, and sat down. I ordered our drinks, then sat in front of her.

“Thank you!”

We had a great time talking, and I was surprised we didn't run out of topics. I don’t even know how many times I laughed. At some point she seemed to be feeling uncomfortable, and I didn't know why.

“Is everything OK?” I asked anxiously.

“Umm…yeah, I just don’t like the attention.”

I raised one eyebrow, still looking at her questioningly. She nodded to the right side, and I followed the direction with my eyes carefully.

“Oh…” I saw 3 girls watching us, curiously.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s OK, I guess. It’s just weird for me, even though they’re not looking at me.”

“I think they do. You’re the mysterious girl with Harry Styles.” I smiled, but it immediately faded away, when the girls stood up and came towards us.

“Is it a problem, if I wait for you outside?”

I saw a little panic in her eyes, no doubt: she hates the attention.

“I’ll be fast.”

She smiled and walked away. I looked at the girls and smiled, even though I was a little angry. They asked for a picture and a hug, then gave me some papers to sign. They all thanked me and I apologized and went out to Jenny.

“I’m really sorry!”

“Don’t! I should say it for just walking out, but I just hate people staring at me.”

“It’s okay, thanks for you patience.”

“Well, we don’t want you to forget about your fans, do we?”

We laughed, and started to walk to the bus station. It was just a few streets away, so I escorted her.

“Sure you don’t want me to take you home?” I asked when we arrived.

“No, it’s okay. But thank you! Oh here’s my bus.”

“Text me before you go to sleep OK?”  She smiled.

“I will”

She hugged me then said goodbye and walked to the bus.
