Tori is a fourteen year old girl living in the south of England. She loves to hang out with her friends: Kim, Joseph, Matt and Louis. Louis isn't really one of her friends, he's Matt's. And only recently, she's realised how determined he is to get inside her friendship group and steal her friends. He wants to be friends with everyone inside her friendship group. Except her.
So Tori goes out on a daring mission, not just to recover her friends for Louis' grasp, but to get rid of him altogether. Sounds easy, right? Just what Tori thinks. But it isn't at all easy if Louis has the power to completely stop you in your tracks, in ways which aren't even imaginable.

13. Court is hijacked

I never thought I'd see him again. After everything with Damian, he had totally gone to the back of my mind. But when I saw him, sitting on the bench, handcuffed, looking down, I knew it was him.

"Joe?" He looked up.

"Tori?" His voice sounded broken, like it had been hacked at with an axe. He was sitting near the judge, under her watchful eye. We were in court, and I still didn't know what I'd done. I guessed it was to do with Damian. After all, I did knock him off a car with load of witnesses. That was pretty bad.

"Joe, what are you doing here?" I asked softly. He looked at me, his face pale and his eyes bloodshot.

"They think I stole" he replied. "But I didn't, I swear I didn't." I smiled at him.

"I believe you."

"You do? But I was such an ass-hole. I left you for Louis, who wasn't even a good friend. Then he went crazy and kept on yelling about killing someone. Haven't seen him since." I bit my lip and my eyes darted around the room.

"Well, that's good." I replied. Just then, the judge hit her gravel on the desk.

"Silence in court!" We were silent and a bodyguard led me over to another seat beside the judge. I was surrounded my armed men.

Suddenly there was a loud noise of gunshots and bullets were flying everywhere. There were screams. I didn't even think about what I was doing and hit the floor. I sat there, crouched, wanting to cry. Why was life so hard on me? Why?

I suddenly felt a hand grab me by the scruff of my neck and pull me up out of my hiding place. They shoved a bag over my head, which smelt of gasoline and metal. I didn't bother to struggle, it all seemed hopeless. I just let myself be thrown into the back of a truck and get driven away, like a limp piece of string. I then heard voices when I was being driven. Familiar voices.

"So, what are you going to do about it?"

"I'll let Sir decide. I just want it dead." I recognized that voice. Damian.

"Okay, but get it over fast. I've got a important meeting tonight."

"Sure thing."

I lay still, puzzled. So I didn't kill Damian. That was bad. Very bad. I didn't know how I was gonna get out of this one. Oh why did I have to get so mad at Damian when he stole my friends. I thought about Kim. She seemed like a tiny, unimportant detail in this massive spiral of mistakes. Then I thought, 'I haven't heard from her for ages.'. Then I heard the voices again.

"What about the bait? Will it work?"

"It better" I heard Damian speak. "Or we're dead. Sir will flip."

"I hope you've got a back-up plan, Damian." The other man spoke.

"Let's just say it's a treat from home." They both laughed.

I felt my stomach turn over. I needed to escape. Fast.
