3. Dream-Scape

Bella woke up to warm sunlight on her skin and the calmy melody of birds. She yawn widely as she sat up and strectched. Her gaze floated around the room, only to land on an oversized lump of wolf curled up in front of a crackling fireplace. Suddenly Bella is struck with a startling memory.

   ~Last Night's Dream~

Bellas was standing in a snowy moon-lit clearing. The moon was full and climbing higher into the star speckled, winter sky. The leafless trees surounding the clearing loomed high about her head. A cool breez ruffled her hair a blew a puff of white snow slakes in her face. The dark silhouette of her shadow stretched across the snow covered ground, making the peacful scene look menacing and erie.

She let out a long sigh and watched as her wamr breathe floated around her head. Her eyes slipped shut as she enjoyed the peace and serenity of the atmosphere.

   "Enjoying yourself, Bella?"

Bella's eyes snapped onen to find another shodow standing beside her's. It was tall with broad shoulders and long strong arms. She would have guessed it was Jacob if it weren't for the way he stood completely still and ramrod straight. Bella turned her head slightly. It was Jacob! His resset skin and jet black hair were simply unmistakable.

"Jake," she gasped, "You scared me!"

"But your happy to see me, Bella?"

She thought about this for a moment. It's not usually the type a question Jacob would ask. Definitely not his confident, almost arogant self.

"Of course I am." she confermed, "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Because you are getting married." he replied bluntly.

"You're my best friend Jake." Bella insisted, "My really great friend."

"You think of him as more than that Bella!" he snapped, "I know you do! You kissed him!"

"HIM?" she questioned, "Jake, I kissed YOU." she added.

A pained expression crept onto Jacob's face, "I knew it."

"Jake, you knew what?" she spat, "None of this is making any sense!"

"Do you love him?" he paused then corrected himself, "Me-Do you love me?"

"I do." she thought to herself, "I do love him. I always have. Ever since he saved me from getting hit by that train."

All the conflicted thoughts, that had been bouncing around in Bella's head all those years, now popped up once again. She was torn between following her heart and keeping her promise to Edward. She had no idea what Edward would do if he found out about her feelings for Jacob. Let alone her second thoughts about the wedding. Probably kill Jake, maybe even her.

Edward had never been the same after he came back and found that Bella was dating Jake. His hostility towards Jacob had become more intense and his trust in her seemed to falter occasionally. If Bella was honest with herself she would admit that she is afraid of Edward. She's afraid of what he might do if she left him.

Werewolves, like Jake, have a bad reputation for having 'anger issues'. When in reality, it's the Vampires you don't want to get fired up. Edward especially since he can read minds and such. Bella was just relieved he couldn't read her's.

"Yes Jacob, I do." she sighed finally, "But I love Edward too, and I am marrying him tomorrow, according to plan."

The pained expression faded, only to be replaced by a scary grin that showed off his glistening white teeth. Suddenly she realized how close he was standing. That wasn't the weird thing though, he wasn't hot. He was actually cold; colder than the winter breeze or the tiny white snowflakes drifting from the heavens.

"Just remember that, my Bella." he warned and grabbed onto both her wrists, sending freezing shocks down her arms, "Just remember your promise."

   Bella gasped, "Your not Jacob"

A loud howl ripped through the clearing. Bella's head swung around just in time to see a huge, red roan wolf leap out of the woods. She instantly recognized Jacob's wolf form and a scream escaped her lips as she turned to see Edward standing in front of her. His face was twisted into an evil smile, his long vampire canines slipped out over her bottom lip.  He released his grip on her wrists, which were now raw and frost bitten, "Remember your promise to me, my love."

At that moment Jacob lunged at Edward, tearing into his neck with his claws and decapitating him with his teeth. Bella could only watch helplessly as her fiancée was torn to pieces, limb from limb. Jacob finally stopped and shifted into his shirtless human form. He struck a match and burned the corpse without saying a word. Finally he directed his attention to Bella, "Are you all right?"

   "You just killed my fiancée."

"Yeah," he sighed, "I've always wanted to do that. Too bad this is a dream." he added, motioning to the scenery around them.

"A dream?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"Well, it's kind like a dream, it's called dreamscaping." he explained as he snaked his arm around Bella's waist, "The only difference is that this is YOUR dreamscape and YOU have allowed me to read your thoughts."

She sighed, "Now YOUR not making any sense!"

"It basically means that I know you what my to do this:"

His lips captured hers for the second time that night. Her arms made their way up around his neck and she absorbed his warmth. Jacob slipped his tongue into her mouth, making them both moan in allusion. Bella's fingers danced over his toned abs as their kiss became more desperate. Jacob's hand raised to cup her face and he rubbed his thumb slowly over across her cheek. They both pulled back panting. Jacob continued, leaving trails of airy kisses along Bella's jaw and neck.

"Did you know," he panted, "The werewolves can change people too?"

Bella shook her head no, making Jacob chuckle lightly. He pressed a lingering kiss on her neck once more then whispered, "We also mark what belongs to us."

Suddenly Bella felt a sharp pang, almost like a needle, in her neck. Her eyes snapped open and she pushed Jacob away. Her hand swung up and felt the bite on her neck. She pulled it back and found blood on her fingers.

"What the hell Jake!" she yelped.

   "Does it hurt?"

"No, but you freaking BIT me?" she exclaimed, "What the hell was that for?"

"Don't worry, it should fade away soon." he murmured and pulled Bella closer once again. She was about to protest when she felt a warm sensation spreading throughout her body. Jacob was licking the bite. As gross as that sounds, to Bella it was probably the most arousing thing she had every experienced.

   ~End of Dream~

Bella's hand snapped up to her neck in search for the wound. It was there. A small bump right above her collar bone. But it was smaller than she remembered and it's seemed to be shaped. She hopped off her bed and shuffled into the bathroom to examine her new tattoo, she just hoped it was temporary.

To her dismay, it seemed highly unlikely. The bite was already scaring. The crescent moon shaped mark was a shade darker than her regular skin tone and stuck out slightly. There wasn't much she could do to cover it up.

"Morning Bells," Jacob yawned, "What's up?"

   "Just inspecting the damage."

   "English please?"

"The freaking scar you gave me in my dream last night!" she snapped.

The colour slowly drained from his beautiful face. His eyes never left the marking on Bella's neck.

   "I did that?" he whispered.

"Um ya, after you killed Edward and...urm...we kissed." Bella stammered.

"DAMMIT!" Jacob yelled, swinging a fist around and punching a whole in the dry wall.

"What Jake? What's wrong?" Bella questioned.

Jacob was already running out of the bathroom and towards the window. Suddenly he stopped and turned around, "Make sure you cover that up and wear lots a perfume for the wedding." he demanded, "I'll come up with a way to fix this, I promise I won't let him hurt you."
