Blinded By You

6 months ago, I lost my eyesight. But life goes on, I attend university in London and one of my best friend's is Niall Horan, from One Direction. But he doesn't know I'm blind. Will he hate me when I tell him? Will he treat me the same? Will I fall for one of his bandmates...

49. Tug of War & Time to Go

Just as an FYI, it is now April 28th-ish in the story.

Love you all<3

Niall’s POV

“London, how are you?!” I yelled into the microphone.

In response, I received a deafening roar from the crowd; I grinned back at the crowd as Harry began talking to the crowd.

“What’d you guys think of Kodie?” I asked them, receiving more yells. “Would you like to hear us sing a song with her?” I smiled as I heard even more yells as a response. I held up a finger, “I’ll go get her, hang on a second.”

I ran off stage and ran towards Kodie’s dressing room; I knocked repeatedly until she opened up the door with a confused look on her face. “What’s wro—whoa!” she squealed as I picked her up over my shoulder.

“The crowd is asking for you!” I explained as I speed-walked back to the stage, trying not to jostle her.

“Why?” she asked.

“I suggested that we all sing a song together,” I told her. “And they really seemed to like the idea.”

“Can you put me down? I do know how to walk on my own,” she said, her voice shaking from the movement of me walking.

“No can do sweet cheeks,” I laughed.

Kodie slapped my ass, “Put me down now! I don’t think the girls that came to see you would like to see my ass waving in the air.”

“Nuh uh,” I replied. “Stop feeling me up!” I said as she continued hitting my back.

“I am not feeling you up!” she yelled.

I stepped back onto stage and set her down next to me as Louis was up with Jon being ‘DJ Tommo’. I took Kodie’s hands and began to dance around with her until Lou came back down. “So what song should we sing with the lovely Kodie?” Harry asked before spinning her around. I ignored the feeling of jealousy that was beginning to burn in my chest, knowing that he was joking and Kodie and I still hadn’t gone public with our relationship. “How about No Air? Because Kodie’s taking my breath away,” Harry joked.

“That’s not me. I think you have asthma; might want to get that checked out.” Kodie retorted.

“Alright, break it up. No arguing in front of the children,” Liam gestured to the arena. “Let’s start the song.”

Liam handed Kodie a microphone and they counted down before she sang, “Tell me how I’m supposed to breathe with no air.

Then he took Kodie’s hand and spun her before she began the first verse.

If I should die before I wake,

It’s ‘cause you took my breath away;

Losing you is like living in a world with no air.

As she sang, the boys and I planned who would sing which verse and Harry sang the rest of the first verse.

I’m here alone, didn’t wanna leave,

My heart won’t move, it’s incomplete;

If there was a way, that I could make you understand.

But how do you expect me,

To live alone with just me?

‘Cause my world revolves around you,

It’s so hard for me to breathe.

Zayn, Liam, Harry, Louis and I joined her for the chorus.

Tell me how I’m supposed to breathe with no air,

Can’t live, can’t breathe with no air;

It’s how I feel whenever you ain’t there;

There’s no air, no air.

Got me out here in the water so deep,

Tell me how you gon’ be without me?

If you ain’t here I just can’t breathe

There’s no air, no air.

Louis and I harmonized as Kodie sang the higher vocals.

No air, air

No air, air

No air, air

No air, air

I took her hand and waltzed with Kodie as I sang the next verse to her.

I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew;

Right off the ground to float to you;

With no gravity to hold me for real

But somehow I’m still alive inside,

You took my breath but I survived;

I don’t know how but I don’t even care.

Kodie had a faint smile on her face as we danced through the chorus. Slightly annoyed, I had to let go and Zayn took her hand and walked with her to the left side of the stage as we all sang the chorus.

So how do you expect me,

To live alone with just me?

‘Cause my world revolves around you,

It’s so hard for me to breathe.

Tell me how I’m supposed to breathe with no air,

Can’t live, can’t breathe with no air;

It’s how I feel whenever you ain’t there;

There’s no air, no air.

Got me out here in the water so deep,

Tell me how you gon’ be without me?

If you ain’t here I just can’t breathe

There’s no air, no air.

No air, air

No air, air

No air, air

No air, air

No more, baby

There’s no air, no air;

No air, oh!

We finished the song, the six of us standing in a row with our arms wrapped around each other, grinning. “Give it up for the lovely and talented Kodie!” Harry yelled and pulled Kodie closer to him.

“Hey! She’s mine,” I pulled Kodie towards me.

“Nope, I called dibs.” Harry joked before pulling her left arm and she stumbled towards him.

I took her right arm in my hand and pulled her towards me, “I said she’s mine!”

“Hey! That’s my line!” Louis interjected.

Harry and I kept pulling her back and forth before she yelled out, “Guys! I’m not the last piece of cake! Please let go before you break me!”

He let go of her arm and I pulled her into my side, “Hah! I win.” Harry stuck his tongue out at me and I smirked. “I’ll be taking Kodie back to her dressing room now,” I announced before swooping her off her feet and back over my shoulder.

I couldn’t help but laugh as she pounded against my back, “Niall James Horan, put me down right now!”

~`~`~`~`~`~`

“I don’t want you to go,” Kodie mumbled into my chest.

“Trust me, I don’t want to go either,” I said, one hand rested on the small of her back and the other was buried in her hair.

“But I’ll be back before you know it.” The boys and I had gone to Scotland and performed the rest of the gigs scheduled in London and now we had to leave for France before continuing our travels.

“You’ll call right?” Kodie asked.

“Every day,” I answered.

“When are you coming back?” she asked me for the twentieth time.

“May 27th,” I told her. “And whenever you want, you can hang out at my flat.” I pressed a key into her hand.

“Don’t be surprised if you are missing some clothes when you get back,” Kodie let out a watery laugh.

I pulled back from the hug and wiped her cheeks with my thumbs; if she kept this up, I was going to be the next one crying. The speakers in the airport crackled before a voice announced the my flight was boarding. I pulled Kodie closer to me before pressing my lips to hers; our lips remained connected in a passionate kiss until the last call for my flight was announced.

“Bye Kodie,” I sniffed. “I’ll call you when I land, okay?”

Kodie wiped her eyes once more before nodding and giving me a small smile. “I’ll be waiting by my phone,” she said.

Our hands parted and right before I entered the gate, I turned back to look at her. Kodie was still standing where I left her; as much as I wanted to turn right around and hold her in my arms, I couldn’t. I felt as though I was leaving a part of me behind with Kodie.
