Niall’s POV

“What’s up Adelaide?!” I yelled into the microphone and held my hands out.

I was met by screams and I grinned; coming to Australia was always so much fun. This was the first concert in Australia and we were going to be touring around the country for the next month. Any break the boys and I got, we planned on spending it on the beach.

“Are you having a good time?” Liam called.

The crowd yelled again and I slung my around Louis’ shoulders. “We are so excited to be here in Australia and have you guys here with us for our first concert of the Australian leg of the Take Me Home tour!” Louis said.

“We hope you have as much fun as we are going to, so help us out and sing the next song with us,” Harry yelled.

The beginning notes of Heart Attack came on and Harry began his verse.

For the rest of the night, I bounced around stage, messing around with the boys and all around having a good time.

During Kiss You, Louis had started a water fight and then proceeded to slip on the water. I helped him up, asking if he was okay. Louis said he was fine, but the boys and I could tell he was limping a bit.

We ended the concert and once we were back at the hotel, Louis collapsed onto his bed. “Can one of you guys get me some ice?” he asked. I nodded and went down the hall to find the ice machine. When I found it, I filled up the bucket and headed back to Louis’ room.

“Here you go,” I handed him a bunch of ice cubes wrapped in a towel.

“Thanks,” he said.

I nodded and at that moment my phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D. and smiled.

“Hey, babe.”

“Hi, Niall. How was the concert?” Kodie asked.

“Loads of fun,” I told her. “There’s something about Australia.”

“That sounds like a movie,” Kodie laughed.

“It does,” I agreed. “But it’s true. I can’t wait until we get a day off and we can go surfing.”

“Okay, now I’m jealous.” Kodie said. “Surfing sounds like a blast.”

Kodie and I talked for about two hours before I had to say goodbye because I was falling asleep while talking to her.

Jet lag was a bitch.

“Kodes, are you feeling any better?” I questioned before we hung up.

“Yeah, loads. I think the past couple days was just leftovers from strep throat.” She answered.

I smiled in relief; I didn’t like knowing she was sick if I wasn’t there to take care of her. “Well, I’m glad you’re feeling better. I’ll let you go to rehearsal and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“I love you, Niall.” Kodie said.

“I love you, too.” I answered.

I hung up and closed my eyes, quickly falling asleep.

The next day, I was woken up when Louis paraded through our rooms, banging pots and pans together yelling, “Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey.”

“Lou, shut the fuck up!” I yelled.

“Never!” He crowed.

I rolled over, picked up my shoe from the floor and threw it in his general direction. My aim must have been better than I thought because he let out a yell and the pots fell to the ground with a clatter. “Really, Niall?” He yelled.

“Yes, really; you were being an obnoxious bugger.” I mumbled with my face in the pillow.

“Well, you certainly are not a morning person.” Louis quipped.

I raised my head to look at him, “You’ve known me for three years and you’re just now figuring that out?”

Louis glared at me, “Well you’ve never nearly killed me with a flying shoe before either.”

I just shook my head and buried my face in my pillow. Five minutes later and I couldn’t fall back asleep so I got out of bed and got dressed. Walking out into the common area, I saw the other boys in different states of alertness. Louis was the only one who really looked awake; the other three looked half asleep and I’m sure I looked the same.

“Any reason you woke us up?” Harry grumbled.

“I was lonely,” Louis grinned at us, looking as innocent as possible.

“Fantastic,” Harry said.

“Well, what do you suppose we do now?” I asked him.

Louis looked at the clock which read four o’clock, “There’s not enough time to go out before sound check, so we could play videogames or watch some movies.”

“I vote movie,” Harry said. “Playing a videogame would require too much energy.”

Liam rolled his eyes, “You can be quite lazy, did you know?”

Harry grinned at Liam, “It’s one of my many talents.”

“But which movie?” Zayn piped up.

“Fair question,” I said. I grabbed the remote and looked through the movie channels to see if anything good was playing. I stopped when I saw Iron Man 3 was playing and I looked to the other boys. “This good?”

They all nodded and I got up, going to the kitchen to get something to eat. I poured myself some cereal and then sat down on the couch. Harry looked at me, then at the food and then back at me. “Get your own food,” I said through a mouthful and he slowly got up, mumbling about how I was selfish.

The next couple of hours were spent lounging around watching the movie and having a popcorn fight. Sadly, that was put to an end when we had to leave for sound check.

The five of us, plus a few body guards, got into the cars waiting for us. The drive to the arena was short and soon enough we were on stage rehearsing; we even sang happy birthday to a girl at sound check which I hope made her day.

The concert started about an hour later and what I said to Kodie was true.

There was something about Australia.
