Kodie’s POV

“Welcome darling, how are you?”

“I’m doing great and yourself?” I answered Alan.

“Never better,” he said. “Can I get you something to drink?”

I smiled at him, “You do know there’s a high chance of me tripping without the alcohol helping.” Alan and the audience laughed. “I’ll just have some water.”

Alan made a snoring noise, “Boring.” I laughed with him and he handed me a glass which I took a sip from. “So tell me what you have been up to lately.”

I rested my glass on my knee before answering him. “I’ve released my first single and now I’ll be working hard before taking a break in a couple of weeks.”

“And your break coincides with someone else’s break, does it not?” Alan asked.

“Have you been stalking One Direction again?” I questioned. “But yeah, we are on break at the same time.”

“How convenient for you; do you have any romantic plans for the break?” Alan insisted.

“Not exactly,” I answered. “I am having surgery during my break, so no fancy vacations for me.”

“Oh no, what for? Have you had so much fun with Niall that you pulled something? You can tell me, I won’t tell anyone.” Alan whispered conspiratorially to me.

“I’m not going to say because I don’t want to jinx it, but it’s nothing to worry about.” I smiled.

“Was it hard recording your sophomore album and what sound were you going for?”

“It wasn’t necessarily hard, but there is a certain pressure about it because you want to do as well as your first or better.” I responded. “There wasn’t a specific type of sound I was trying for, but I listened to older music, which can definitely be heard in my first single.”

Alan asked me more questions before announcing that I would be performing my new single after the break. He hugged me before I went to the stage area and wished me good luck with the single and my surgery.

“And now, here to perform her new single for the very first time, here is Kodie Marie.” Alan announced.

Sam sang the first line of the song, “Tarzan and Jane were swingin’ on a vine; sippin’ from a bottle of Vodka double wine.

Hey, yeah. I met him out for dinner on a Friday night; he really had me working up an appetite. He had tattoos up and down his arm; there’s nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm.” I sang. “He’s a one stop shop, makes the panties drop. He’s a sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candy man, a sweet-talkin’, sugar coated candy man.”

I took the microphone from the stand and moved to the front of the stage to sing. “He took me to the Spider Club at Hollywood and Vine, we drink champagne and we danced all night. We shook the paparazzi for a big surprise; the gossip tonight will be tomorrow’s headline.”

Brandon was my dance partner for the song and the other four were somewhere on either side of me dancing. “He’s a one stop, gotcha hot, makin’ all the panties drop; sweet, sugar candy man. He’s a one stop, got me hot, making my ugh pop; sweet, sugar candy man. He’s a one stop, get it while it’s hot, baby don’t stop.”

He’s got those lips like sugarcane, good things come for the boys who wait,” I squeezed Brandon’s face so his lips were pouted, and then I pushed him away. “He’s a sweet-talkin’ sugar coated candy man; a sweet-talkin’ sugar coated candy man.” I repeated that twice before taking a breath and belting out a note. “Heeey.”

The performance ended with all six of us dancing and then striking an end pose. On that note, Alan ended the show and we walked backstage.

“First performance done and we smashed it!” Lauren cheered.

“I think we should go out for dinner to celebrate,” Oliver suggested.

I grinned, “I am all for that.”

“I feel like I’m going to be sick,” I said.

“Me too,” Niall agreed from my right.

“You’re not the one about to go in for surgery though, Ni.” I let out a laugh.

We were in Dublin where I was about to have eye surgery. My parents and I discussed my options and then discussed the best doctors for me with Dr. Hill. As it turns out, I didn’t have to go too far from home which made the thought of surgery a little better.

Niall squeezed my hand, “That doesn’t mean I’m not nervous. I feel like I did before I went in for my knee surgery.”

“Oh God, I don’t want to be here right now.” I groaned.

“You can always change your mind, there’s no pressure.” My dad added.

I shook my head, “No, I want to do this. I just don’t like the idea of surgery.”

“Don’t worry baby girl, you’re going to be just fine,” my mom pat my knee.

I had just slightly relaxed when the nurse called my name, telling me it was time for the surgery. Niall walked with me into the room and helped me get settled onto the chair. “Everything is going to be fine, I’ll be right next to you when you wake up.” Niall assured me. Niall left after kissing me and his words were the last thing I remember before the anesthesia put me to sleep.
