The Trojan Queen

Persaius was born to be queen, she was also born into revenge and war. Since the day her parents died she has been trained to be the best queen in the history of the monarchy, when she gets kidnapped by the Greeks things change for Persaius and she no longer truly knows where her alliance lays.

4. She won, this time

The girl was amazing, she stood as though she was a goddess and she declared herself to be the royal child of troy. Impossible, Achilles had been told the royal child was a son not a daughter but she stood like a princess. Achilles men flooded the back steps of the temple, they all stared at the princess like they were expecting her to drop dead right on the spot.

“Well Achilles, you wanted the royal child and here I am. You want me dead then I dare you to strike me down where I stand.” The girl said.

“What is your name girl?” Achilles returned. He eyed the girl’s cloths, her dress was a thin silk material and it was held together by a lace around her waist and shoulders. Her hair was up in the way you would expect a princess’ to be. For a moment he thought of how it would be to loosen her ties and slip the dress from her body but then mentally shook himself.

“My name is Persaius.” The girl said. Achilles was at a dead end, was he now meant to kill a woman? His gaze darted from her to the man behind her to his men and he decided. No matter why he was here he would not kill a woman. Achilles put away his sword and a smug smile appeared on Persaius’ face, Achilles might not kill women but he did threaten them.

“Do not smile princess, you may leave now, go home and pray to your gods. We shall have our war tomorrow.” He said like war was a game and he planned on winning.

“You talk of war as if it is a game, but how many children wait for fathers that will not come and how many women will wait for a husband whose blood now stains the sand. Yes Achilles we will have our war tomorrow but remember this when you are killing innocent people for one man’s greed, you will die one day but maybe you will not be given the honour that you deserve, these men had families and they at least deserve proper burials.” Persaius said and he was shocked into silence. Yes she was a princess, her words held authority. A horse came galloping across the sand and stopped just shy of the steps. The man, who Achilles guessed was the princess’ cousin, took Persaius’ hand and led her to the horse and helped her onto its back. All Achilles could do was scowl at her, she was a girl but she had wisdom in her and that would make her a danger to even him. As the girl rode away Achilles took one final look at her and sure enough she was staring back at him.
