Marissa's POV

What the hell is he smoking?? Thinking i'm jealous of her? Ugh. He's so annoying. I don't even like him! We're just friends. There's no way I have any type of crush on Harry Styles.

"You okay there Marissa?" Niall chuckled as I walked into the kitchen dropping the bags on the counter. I rolled my eyes. "I'm fine."

"Marissa? What happened?" Louis asked sounding concerned as I heard the door open and close. A few moments later, Harry walked in. I rolled my eyes at his presence. "Marissa, I was just joking around." He told me walking over to me. "Whatever." I muttered going through one of the bags and pulling out my french fries and chicken nuggets. "Why are you so mad about it?"

"Will one of you tell us what happened?" Louis exclaimed. Harry explained what happened, including that I had freaked out.  "I did not freak out!" I replied. "Yeah you did!"

I rolled my eyes. I did not freak out. I just wasn't so calm about the whole thing. Whatever. He's still wrong.

"Let's just eat." I muttered as everyone dug into the bags for their food.

***

It's Friday, June 27th. Every year, one of Louis' friends, Stan, who also has a cabin here, holds a huge party on this date. Everyone will be there. Since we've been going here from such a young age, we're friends with a lot of other people who come here every summer. So we'll probably know a lot of the people at the party.

Harry and I have been a bit on edge recently. Or at least I am. He still seems to think we're friends, though he flirts a lot more than normally. It's kind of annoying, but sometimes, I find myself flirting back.

Just then, Louis burst into my room, a huge smile on his face. "Stan's having the party tonight! Do you want to come? The boys and I are going. Mum and Anne are going out toight and already gave us an okay." I grinned. This was probably the biggest thing I look forward to in the summer. "Of course I want to go!" I exclaimed, nodding my head. "It starts at 8." He informed me.

I squeeled out of excitment. "I need to find a dress!" I exclaimed in shock. Louis chuckled before leaving the doorway.

I jumped up from my bed and sprinted to my closet. Leafing through my clothes, I came to the conclusion that I had nothing, absolutley nothing, to wear.

I glanced at the digital clock sitting on my bedside table that read 10:34 am in bold, red writing. Looks like i'm going shopping!

I grabbed my phone and slipped it into my back pocket before skippin out to the front room where everyone else was hanging out. "Hey guys, i'm going to go shopping for a new dress. Anyone wanna come along?" I offered.

Silence.

"Really? You're going to make me go shopping by myself?" I pouted. Harry rolled his eyes before standing up. "I'll go." He mumbled. I grinned. For some reason, I was oddly happy he was coming along.

Louis gave Harry a hard stare before looking to me. "Do you want all of us to come along?" Louis asked. There goes again, being all protective. He just doesn't want me alone with Harry. He either thinks i'm going to kill him, or Harry's going to try something on me, being the flirt he is.

Hopefully, neither will happen.

"No that's okay. You guys probably had things planned anyways. I don't want to mess up your plans." I shrugged.

He sighed but agreed.

It didn't take long to get to the mall, only about 20 minutes into town, so we arrived rather quickly. I grinned as we walked through the doors. I've always loved coming to this mall. It's a lot better than the one at home. This one's bigger and much more clean. The tiles were white with gray specks and with the high ceiling and glass walls for the front of stores, it looked really cool.

"Let's go to Deb!" I exclaimed leading Harry to my favorite store in the entire mall.

He chuckled and followed me to the store. I walked to the back where they had dresses hanging up on racks. So many dresses. I normally hated coming in here because I can never decide what to get.

I saw Harry smirking as he looked through some of the dresses before he held up a hot pink, extremley short, tight and revealing dress. "You should get this one." He smirked. "Or at least try it on for me." He winked.

I scoffed rolling my eyes. "In your dreams."

"It will be in my dreams." He winked again. "You're such a perv." I muttered snatching the dress and hanging it back on the rack. I bit my lip trying to decide between two; one light purple, almost lavander colored sparkly one shoulder dress and a black lace strapless dress with dark blue under the lace down the front of it.

"Try them both on, then see which looks better." He suggested. I nodded looking around the store for an employee to unlock one of the dressing rooms.

Harry's POV

While Marissa was changing in the dressing room, I had stood talking to the girl at the counter. She was pretty, and obviously very interested, but there was something about her that just totally turned me off. Maybe it was the high pitched voice, or the constant twirling of her bleach blonde hair. Whatever it was, it was really annoying, and I couldn't wait for Marissa to call me over so I could get away from her.

As the girl chattered on, I smiled and pretended I was listening. "Harry?" I heard a soft voice call from behind me. I turned around and my mouth hung open. I swear to god, my jaw was practically on the floor.

Marissa stood there in the lavander colored dress, her long dark curly hair flowed perfectly onto her shoulders. The dress hugged her body in all the right places and seemed as if it was shimmering in the light. "Harry?" She asked again snapping her fingers in front of my face. I forced my mouth shut and tried to answer her, but no words came out.

She looked breathtaking. "Does it look okay?" She asked biting her lip. I shook my head trying to find the right words to describe it.

"No, it looks...amazing." I was still in shock a bit, especially once she smiled. Wow, her smile just lit up the entire room. "It looks perfect." I told her. She smiled looking down a bit, her hair falling in front of her face.

She brushed her bangs off to the side before looking up, a faint pink on her cheeks. "Should I try the other one on too?" She asked twirling a piece of her dark hair around her fingers.

I know, earlier I said that was a major turn off, but when Marissa did it, it didn't look stupid or slutty, or like she was trying to impress anyone. She was doing it out of nerves and I thought that was adorable.

I nodded. "Sure."

Her pink lips curved into a small smile before turning around and heading back to the dressing room. That dress looked amazing from both the front and the back, if you know what I mean.

"Is she your girlfriend?" The girl who's name I still don't know asked me. I whipped around to face her and shook my head. "What? No." She smirked. "But you like her, don't you?"

I scrunched my eyebrows together. I don't like Marissa. "No?" I answered, though it came out more of a question than a statement. "You looked pretty star-struck seeing her in that dress." She smirked. I bit my lip feeling my cheeks heat up.

I shrugged, opting not to say anything to embarrass myself even more. "I don't know what's going on between you guys personally, but it kinda seemed like she liked you too." She shrugged. My head snapped up at that and I felt a smile tug at the corners of my mouth.

"You think she does?" I asked hopefully. She shrugged. "I don't know, but now I definitely know you like her."

I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion. "Your eyes lit up and your voice was so hopeful when I said I think she likes you."

I looked away. "She doesn't like me."

"Why not? What's not to like?" She asked genuinely confused. I sighed. "She used to hate me. We only started to get along a few weeks ago."

"Well, it seemed like your opinion on her dress really mattered. I'm a girl, I understand other girls. And that girl-"

"Marissa." I interrupted her, letting her know the name of 'that girl.'

"Marissa, is not very hard to read. She seems really insecure and shy. She's really pretty, I understand why you like her and she'd be totally insane not to like you back." She told me smiling.

I bit my lip, pondering over her words. Could Marissa really have a crush on me?

I noticed the girls eyes flicker behind me then back to me and she smirked. I turned to see Marissa smoothing out the black lace dress before looking up at me. My mouth fell open a bit but I quickly forced it closed. Marissa took her bottom lip between her teeth and then looked down.

"It looks great." The girl said coming out from behind me to look at Marissa. Marissa grinned. "Really? I kind of like the other one better." She shrugged. "Well it looks beautiful. What do you think Harry?" She asked.

I knew she had done that on purpose. I was at a loss for words. She looked gorgeous in both. Marissa looked up at me a light pink on her cheeks. She's blushing? "Uhm, it's really pretty." I told her biting my lip. She smiled instantly making my heart melt.

Wow. I don't think i've ever felt this way before.
