35. Pain, Regret, Hatred.

Harry's P.O.V.

We all waited for what seemed like forever until a doctor came out. His face was dull, plain, not showing any emotion.

"Are you here for Mrs. Andrews?"

"N...No." I said my voice hoarse from crying earlier. It was my fault, everything. I should have never broke up with her in the first place at the airport. She would be with me now, lying in my arms.

The doors to the waiting room swung open and Katie's parents tottered in, her mum looked terrible her hair was limp and hanging by each side of her face, and she looked like she hadn't slept in a while.

"Ah, you must be Katie's parents, can I have a word." I looked up and saw the doctor taking her parents into a corner in the hallway and looking down at his clipboard, he sighed and they followed his lead as he closed a door behind him and left us in the hallway. I looked down at my knotted fingers as I felt the boys eyes on me.

"What do you think they're saying?" Niall said leaning forward breaking the tension.

"I don't know, but it seems.... bad." Liam said standing up. We all looked up as her parents emerged from the room. Her mum was sobbing and her dad had tears rolling down his cheeks. I gulped back the lump in my throat as I rose from my seat.

"No... no." I said, my voice cracking. I shook my head. "She's not. She's strong, she always makes it. She will." I said as tears sprung to my eyes. I wiped them ferociously and paced up and down the room. I needed to know. It was my fault. The guilt was practically eating me alive.

"Haz, sit down mate, you don't know yet." Zayn said pulling me down. I looked up as the doctor stood in front of us.

"I'm afraid it's bad news." I looked up from my hands, just about managing to see the doctors face through my blurry eyes. I gulped down the sob that almost escaped my lips. "Would you like to follow me please." Whatever the news was, we were heading straight the way Katie's parents just came from, and I had a feeling that I wasn't going to like it.
