22. Depression

"Honey, do you want breakfast?" My mum shouted up the stairs to my bedroom. The same bedroom I had been sitting in for the past week. But today I decided that I needed to move on and away from Harry, so today was a fresh start.

"I'll be down in a minute." I called down. I got out of bed and trudged over to my mirror. The cool temperature prickling my skin. I scraped my hair back into a bun, shoved my dressing gown on and plodded downstairs. My mum was in the kitchen putting food down on the table.

"Morning love, sleep well?" Love. That's what Harry used to call me. Harry. The one who broke up with me last week. The one who had been all over the news because he had been seen with various girls, or as they say "Mystery girl". Yep. You heard me. Harry had been shagging other girls only a week after he broke up with me. After saying that he loved me. Ugh. I snapped out of my thoughts quickly.

"Yeah, really well thanks." I replied and sat down at the table.

"Do you want a cup of tea?" She said turning around smiling.

"Yeah, that would be great thanks. Can you put some toast on for me too please?" I asked.

"Of course sweetie." My mum had been really caring and understanding over the past week. She knew how much I liked Harry. Once I finished my breakfast I went back upstairs to my room to get dressed. I decided on a tank-top with a black jumper over the top with my skinny jeans and snow boots. I picked up my bag and went back downstairs.

"Where are you going?" My mum asked as I entered the hallway. She was sorting through today's post.

"I told you yesterday. I was gonna meet up with Ivy in town for a Starbucks." I told her.

"Oh right, sorry it must have slipped my mind. Okay, well have fun and I'll see you later. What time are you getting back?" She asked.

"Oh, ummm about 3pm." I said, desperate to leave the house.

"Okay," She said looking up from the papers in her hand, "I'll see you later, bye."

"Bye." I said and shut the front door behind me. I made my way down the busy pavement, with all the busy people rushing around me. As I trudged through the snow on my way down to Starbucks, I got a text from Ivy. It read;

Hurry up. Your coffee is here with me, and if you're not fast enough I will drink it mwoahaha! Looking forward to seeing you babes ;) xxx

I smiled down at the text and made a beeline for Starbucks, which was straight in front of me. I saw Ivy sitting down on one of the couches, reading something on her phone. I opened the door and made my way to her.

"Ivy?" I said. She looked up and grinned, then stood up and hugged me.

"Katie? Oh my gosh." She said as we both sat down.

"Hey. How have you been?" I asked.

"Really really good. But I really miss Niall." She said. A pang of pain hit me in the heart, remembering the boys and....Harry. "Oh shit, sorry Kate, I forgot. Y'know what? I think we should spoil ourselves with a shopping spree. What do you say?" She looked up at me still grinning. I smiled back and said,

"Yeah but what about my coffee?" I looked around the table and saw only one cup. "Were you not thirsty?" I asked.

"No, this is mine. You need to go and order one." She said smiling.

"What? Ughhh Ivy. You are so annoying. I thought you already got me one." I said as I stood back up again and walked back to the Que and waited my turn, giving the death glare the whole time to Ivy, while she just sat there laughing and smiling at me.

It was finally my turn and I began my order,

"Hi please can I have a skinny caramel m-macchiato." I stuttered. The boy turned around and looked at me and smiled. He was fucking hot. Smoking. I began to blush like crazy.

"Sure, what's the name?" He said picking up a pen at the ready.

"Uh...Katie." I said. God what was wrong with me. Calm down Katie, he's just a boy, you can deal with it. Phew.

"Okay, that'll be £3.15 please." I got my card out and placed it in the machine. I looked away waiting for it to beep so I could put my pin in. I scanned the room and my eyes met Ivy's who was staring at me wiggling her eyebrows. God this child sometimes is really annoying. The machine beeped and I placed my pin in. He took the receipt out and went away to get my coffee I assume, but came back with only the receipt. "Your coffee will be on the end when it's done." He said and handed the receipt back to me. I shoved it into my purse and went to go and wait for my drink at the other end of the counter.

I slowly walked over to Ivy with my drink and sat down. "So, spill?" She said raising her eyebrows at me.

"What?" I asked completely oblivious.

"Oh c'mon Katie, you could so tell that you really like each other!" She said and nudged me.

"Oh, come off it." I scoffed. "Yeah, right like he liked me." I said.

"C'mon then lets see it." She said getting excited.

"See what?" I said.

"Oh, for gods sake, the bloody receipt. Where is it?" She said getting agitated.

"What? Why do you want the receipt?" I said rather taken-a-back.

"Because he put his bloody number on it, that's why." She half screamed in excitement. Half the f-ing shop was now staring at us. Oh for christ sakes Ivy. Why did she always have to draw the crowds attention.

"What? No way." I said. I got out the receipt from my purse and to my disbelief, Ivy was right.
