Back For You

Amelia had recently turned 16 and was being forced to move from her lifelong home. When she gets to her new home she meets Liam Payne, her neighbor. But when he becomes big and famous and leaves her in the dust she tries to forget him. Which is unsuccessful when he comes to visit and brings something (or someone) with him.

1. Moving

I have always hated packing, so when I had to pack for moving to another country, it wasn't that enjoyable. My family and I were moving to Wolverhampton, England because my mum had gotten a job as a CEO of some company that I don't even know the name of. I wasn't really excited because I had so many plans for what I wanted to do this summer, but now I can't do any of it. I'm originally from Dublin, I was born there and didn't intend on leaving for a long time. I recently turned 16 and I didn't want to say goodbye to my friends that I've had since I was in diapers.

"Amelia! Are you ready?" I heard my mother shout from downstairs. "We're leaving in ten minutes!"

I looked around my empty room, one last tear fell from my eye, I wiped my face and grabbed my suitcase that I was bringing on the plane with me. I walked into the living room and saw my older brother, Desmond, sitting on the couch while playing on his phone.

He looked up when I entered the room and he must've seen my puffy, red eyes because he quickly got up and gave me a hug. "It'll be okay. You'll make new friends and you can still talk to your old ones." He rubbed my back.

We had always been close, despite the three year age gap, he was always there for me when I was sad or upset. "I know, but it still sucks." I said trying not to cry again.

"I know it does, Millie, but we can get through it together. I don't like leaving my friends as much as you don't." He pulled away and looked down at me with his hazel eyes that always made me feel better. "At least you don't have to leave your lifelong crush that was finally starting to see you as more than a friend."

"No, I don't. I'm sorry, Des. Thanks for making me feel better." I hugged him one last time before we went into the kitchen to let our parents and aunt, who was driving us to the airport, know that we were ready.

We all got in the car to go to the airport. "So are you excited?" My dad asked.

"A bit, but I'm going to miss it here." I said looking out the window.

"I am, too, Am." He said giving me a sad smile. I knew that we all didn't like leaving, but this was a big opportunity for my mum and I wasn't going to get in the way of it.

The flight was long and boring, but I slept for most of it anyway. When we landed it was almost noon. "Who's hungry?" My mum asked as we exited the airport. We all raised our hands. "Okay, but we have to pick up the rental car, it should be right down the street."

We got a taxi to the car place to get our rental car and then we ventured off to find somewhere to eat. We were all tired and didn't want to sit someplace so we decided on McDonalds. By the time we got to our new house I was full and in need of a nap. I have to admit out new house was amazing and huge, I loved it. "What do you think, Millie?" Desmond asked from beside me.

"It's... amazing." I said smiling. "Do you like it?" I asked him curiously.

"Of course, but it'll never compare to Dublin." He said walking further into the house. I walked into the living room seeing that our stuff had already arrived, but was still in boxes. Ugh unpacking ought to be fun.

"Honey, why don't you and your brother decide what room you want." My father suggested. I looked at Desmond and we both knew what the other was thinking.

"First one upstairs gets first pick!" He yells as he starts to run up the stairs, but I grab his ankle and he falls, I run around him and get to the top first.

"Ha! I win! Now, I think I'll go see what room I want." I said teasingly as he glared at me. "Come on, Desmond, let's find you a room, too."

We walked around upstairs and we both decided what rooms we wanted. "I have to go get my suitcase from the car, I'll be right back."

I walked outside and opened the trunk and saw that my mum hadn't brought her suitcase in either. I lifted mine out first and tried to lift my mum's, but it was too heavy. What did she have in there, bricks? I tried one more time, but I saw another hand grab it and effortlessly lift it from the trunk. I turned expecting to see Desmond, but instead I saw a boy about my age. He had chocolate brown eyes and straight brown hair, he was a decent height and he looked pretty fit. "Um, thanks." My cheeks reddened, but I'm not really sure why.

"No problem, love." The boy said with the most adorable accent. "I'm Liam, I live next door."

"I'm Amelia, I just moved here." Well, as if that wasn't obvious, genius. He smiled warmly. I felt something inside me tingle. We stared into each others eyes for what seemed like hours, but was probably only a couple seconds.

"I saw you struggling with your suitcase when I was getting the post." He looked a bit uncomfortable.

"Well, thanks again, but I should probably head back in." I smiled and waved as I walked up the sidewalk.

"Amelia!" I heard him call from behind me, I turned to look at him. "If your not busy, do you maybe want to, um, hang out tomorrow?"

"Yeah, sure!" I said happily. Maybe this summer wouldn't suck after all.
