The Witch- Observer

This is my entry for the Twilight comp. Cassidy Knightly was a witch. She had observed the Cullen family for Ten years, living together the perfect family. She has always loved Jacob Black, betrothed to Renesmee Cullen, but still watches from a distance, knowing it would be best. But when an intervention of fate brings Jacob and Cassidy together will she be able to leave him again? Check this out, I'd be very grateful ;)

9. Anastasia Hendly

Jacob's P.O.V.

I dunked my biscuit it my cup of tea Anastasia had served up. We were sat in a spacious living room with hard leather couches. I stared intently at Anastasia. She looked like a hard woman of about fifty. Her sleek black hair was piled on top of her hair in a bun and her grey eyes looked sharp. She looked like a sister of Cassidy's. I could see a resemblance clearly. I guessed they must be distance relatives.

Anastasia cleared her throat. "How's Renesmee?" She asked guardedly, her face showing no emotions.

"Alright, I guess, she's fine, other than the fact she can't remember me. She remembers everything else." I replied, noting Cassidy staring at me from across the room.

"I see." Anastasia replied, looking detached. "And do you mind?"

I could tell the shock was evident on my face. Anastasia didn't look like the woman that would care about someone's feelings.

"I....I." I stuttered.

"Cassidy, dear, would you mind go feeding the cat. Felix is due a feed." Anastasia interrupted suddenly.

"OK." Cass replied looking a bit perplexed.

As she left Anastasia called to her "And also, be a pet and make some more tea!"

"Fine!" Cass yelled back, sounding a bit annoyed. I think Cass got the message that it was a private conversation.

"Now." Anastasia turned to me. "What do you think of Renesmee not recognising you."

"Um.... okay. I don't.... really mind. I think I've just.... sort of accepted it. It's like..... I saw one time someone's wife got Alzheimer's and they looked after the wife, but I could sort of see the husband got detached from the wife, it wasn't the same look of love in the husband's eyes. Yet he still took care of her. I didn't get it at the time but now I know how it feels. I would still take care of Renesmee if she needed me, yet I feel like that husband did. Useless. I feel useless to Renesmee."

Anastasia stared at me for a few seconds before replying with;

"I see. And how do you feel about Cassidy?"

"Um. I like Cassidy. A lot. I always have and always will. I feel better and more whole when I'm with Cassidy. She makes me laugh, and go all soft and mushy. I really do like her." I replied, somewhat fearfully.

For the first time since meeting her, Anastasia's face betrayed some emotion. She looked pitifully at me. Suddenly, I wasn't sure why, but I wanted to change the subject.

"Um...... are you and Cass related?" I asked, the first thing that popped into my head.

"Yes.... distant cousins." She replied distractedly. "You may go fetch her from the kitchen where she's trying, and failing, to eavesdrop snippets of our conversation. I would advise you not to try eavesdropping when you wait in the kitchen." She let out what I presumed a rare smile.

I sauntered into the kitchen. Telling Cass to go back in to Anastasia. When she finally came back she looked a bit upset. She led me out of the large house. We went back to hers and I crashed on the sofa. As I fell asleep, I pondered on the visit. I finally decided to question Cass when I woke up.
