The Things You Never Know You Saw

A young couple, Alan and Crystal Heart, were recently married and went on the honeymoon of their dreams. Their seemingly wonderful vacation turns much worse when they unknowingly witness something they were never meant to see....

5. Girls Night Out

"Crystal? Crystal? Hello, anybody home? Crystal!". Delia has been trying to get my attention for a while now.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so disoriented right now. I...I... I think I need another drink", I tell her, shaking myself out of my daze.
I haven't been able to focus since seeing that shadow this morning. I'm not crazy - I know I saw it - but why? Why would someone watch me? I've never done anything all that bad; I'm practically harmless.
"Could I get a strawberry Dacri?", I asked the bartender. My dazed confusion must have made me seem more drunk than I felt, because he eyed me before he brought me my drink. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Marie and Nicole coming towards me, with Delia not far behind. I grumbled a bit to myself and took a big gulp of my drink. I set down the empty glass very noisily, so as to attract the bartenders attention and order another. Before I could tell him what I wanted, Marie grabbed my shoulder and turned me around to face her.
"Sweety, what's been going on with you? You haven't been acting right tonight. You need to go home and rest."
"No, no I'm fine, honestly. I just need this last drink of -"
"No, you don't. We are taking you home right now, no if's, and's or but's. Maybe Alan can sort you out before our brunch tomorrow", Nicole said to me with a bit of edge in her voice.
"Alright, alright, I'll go home now."
I slumped myself over Nicole and Delia's shoulders, while Marie had her hand on my back. They led me to Marie's car, and they drove me home. I just barely made it through the front door before I passed out. The images of the shadow flitted through my mind before I slipped into unconsciousness.
