The Adventures Of Binkleman The Brave

In memory of my dear little kitten Cougar who was nearly 2monthes old when he sadly passed away. Also in memory of the main character in this book. My sweet little Binx who became my first little black cat and died a while back now.

This book is dedicated to my boy Nathan who I finally got back because what happens in '!No Nathanial No!' really happened. I miss Cougar & Binx but at least I still got my dear Nathanial.

Hope you enjoy then, this may seem stupid to some but I promised Binx I would finish all the series and so here they are.

13. What A cat Gang Should Really Be About

I awoke to the sound of Cougar saying to Chief "so big boy, what made you change your mind so much that you actually cuddled up to Binx?" He relied with "ahhhh that boy understands me and is my friend now, that is all". He smiled at me saying "ahhhh I see you are awake now". I got up and stretched out. Cougar then came up to me and said "oi bro, were doing what our gang is all about today, wanna join us?" I yawned and then said sleepily "no thanks, I'm no good at fighting". Chief laughed as Alhandro and Abomination joined in with the laughter. If it were possible then I know I would be bright pink with embarrassment now. Cougar then said after a good laugh "no you silly boy, were free runners!" They then grouped together in s huddle and sat down all staring at me smiling. "Free what's?" I asked with puzzlement. Cougar then replied with as Abomination sniggered. "Well----" I interrupted him with a shout "I dunno what your laughing at A-bomi!" He stopped laughing, stuck his nose in the air and walked off as all three laughed at what I said. Cougar then said "any ways what I was trying to say was, free running is a sport that people do where they run at full speed jumping from high heights, flipping in mid air, instead of going around an object they could go under, above or even through it. We have adapted the sport for cats. The whole world is our run way and so come along and I will show you how it's done as I am the best free runner there is!" Alhandro sniggered and said out loud "Phu in your dreams". Cougar gave him an icy stare then  Alhandro shut up rather quickly. Cougar said with a smile and a hint of excitement in his voice "well come on then Binx!" as he ran off out the storage room. I stretched again with another yawn as I watched Alhandro run off after my brother shouting "hey wait for me!" Chief waited patiently for me and we walked out the storage room side by side as we followed Cougar and Alhandro who were meowing with excitement. We climbed the crates outside the storage room and ended up on the roof. They were hard to climb but it was like a large staircase the way they were all piled up. I saw Abomination sat waiting for us looking smugly at me with hatred. Cougar yelled so all could hear "all you cats follow me, do exactly what I do or die!" I suddenly wished I stayed in the storage room till they got back but it was too late now. Cougar in front, Abomination behind him, Alhandro beside Abomination, and Chief in behind me so he could shout advice to me and keep a close eye on me. I felt a little better until I saw what Cougar expected us too do. We were jumping a huge gap after a run up that went across the alleyway I was born in. From on the roof I realized how easy it really was too find my way home those months ago. I went to follow them as I swallowed my courage before it could escape. Full stretch across the roof top I ran at my top speed, which was actually pretty fast. Just as I hit the edge of the roof I kicked off with my back legs. I was flying, literally flying. As I soared across the skies landing perfectly on the other side accompanied by Chief I thought they would stop to at least check on me but they all ran on as I followed on. Chief shouted "well done my son!" That made me feel more confident as I kept up my speed and jumped the end of this room ending up having to fly upwards and grab hold of a ladder hanging on the side of the house ledge. As I climbed up at Alhandro's tail I scrabbled to the top but ran on still. This time I flew downwards quite far to reach the next roof. I landed then rolled on my back to my feet again and raced on. I was actually enjoying myself by new. We climbed a chimney and leapt off and onto the roof below. We ran through an open window right through a young woman's house who chased us with a broom as we raced down her stairs and zoomed out her open front door. Full stretch across her garden we went. We must rest soon I thought as I began to tire out. We kept on going though until we got to a river and jumped it to the other side. We ended up in the park I first plucked up my courage and faced my fears in. We kept on running along the plain of long green grass. We came to the slide. We leapt up the ladder, missing all the steps and just managing to pull ourselves up onto the top. We then slid down on our backsides, rolling on our backs to our feet then running on yet again. We jumped on each of the 5 swings and catapulted ourselves high into the air doing a front flip, just about landing on our feet with a stumble a little way from a large old oak tree. We stopped at the oak tree. Finally I could rest. I was exhausted, but that was the best thing ever. Free running was truly my new found sport. Much better than a fighting gang of brutes, or posh killers. Free running is definitely the way to go. This is what a cat gang should really be about.
