The Adventures Of Binkleman The Brave

In memory of my dear little kitten Cougar who was nearly 2monthes old when he sadly passed away. Also in memory of the main character in this book. My sweet little Binx who became my first little black cat and died a while back now.

This book is dedicated to my boy Nathan who I finally got back because what happens in '!No Nathanial No!' really happened. I miss Cougar & Binx but at least I still got my dear Nathanial.

Hope you enjoy then, this may seem stupid to some but I promised Binx I would finish all the series and so here they are.

3. First Steps Are Always The Hardest

The days, they passed so quickly and soon enough my mum was nudging us all out of the box. At first me and Nathan stuck together, as we were too scared, and so hid between our mums legs. But as for Cougar, now he was a different matter, the little dare devil. Didn't need a nudge or persuasion to go out into the big world. As soon as his mum suggested it. !VOOM! Off he ran through the hole in the side of the box. As my mum was showing me and Nathan around my brother soon ran off with Cougar to play in the soft grass at the park near the alleyway. As for me it took a lot of love and a good long talking to, just to persuade me to walk on 4cms ahead and watch my brothers playfully rip there claws into one another. I normally love a good fight, always winning against Nathan, but today, under the circumstances I was in, I was just not in the mood. I was shivering from head to toe but my mum ran off up onto the top of the park bench. I cried for her and attempted to jump up to her then rolled flat onto my back. I was scared and felt suddenly all alone as she curled up to relax saying with a yawn "ahhhh I'm doing this for your own good Binx, you can't stay under my tail for the rest of your life". She then closed one eye, then the other and fell asleep. Soon I gave up trying to get to her and after plucking up my courage I ran full stretch along the long green grass, straight to my brothers still playing away. Once there I looked back at my mum and she opened both her eyes, sat up and with a smile and a swish of her fluffy tail, I looked away deciding it safer to stay put now. Your better in numbers anyway. I got in on some of the action my brother's were up to, keeping my eye on my mum, making sure nothing bad was coming for me and most of all making sure mum wasn't going to leave. I was so nervous I nearly fell to my belly and licked the soggy cardboard box as we got home and cuddled together for warmth. It was raining so that's why we came back so early. I may be cold and wet but, my mum and brothers are warm, and I'm no longer in that dreaded park of terror so thank you weather.
