5. I've Tried and Tried

Julie's POV

I haven't heard Cayden sing in literally years. I remember all the times Ally and I sung around him yet we've never heard him sing. The most he'd do is mumble. I didn't know if MY own best friend could sing... that's just a bit embarrassing isn't it. Cayden was really worried and I was afraid that he might embarrass himself in front of all of us.

Ally's POV

I honestly was afraid of Cayden singing. He's not bad or anything, it's just that... he's good. REALLY good. I knew him before Julie did when we were in elementary school together. I met him in Pre-K. He wasn't gay back then. I would know. He and I were together in fourth and fifth grade. As in, we dated. As middle school approached, we both decided to start the year fresh and new. And when we both walked to the bus stop on the first day of sixth grade, we met Julie.

I know he's good because he sang at the funeral for his older brother. His brother had died serving the country when we were in fourth grade. I went to the funeral because I loved Cayden's brother. He sang 'Listen' by Beyonce at the funeral. I helped him prepare. He sang with Julie and I once to show us a song when there was no internet. Yet ever since then, he never sung again. He has a beautiful voice though. If he weren't gay, I'd still date him. Just kidding, I'd rather have my Nialler.

Cayden's POV

Ally and Julie came up to me telling me to sing 'Little Things.' I didn't want to. Ally and Julie are my best friends and they haven't heard me sing for over three years. I do sing at home though. I guess all those years of self-training will pay off right now.

"Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start but can't complete
Listen to the sound from deep within
It's only beginning to find release

Oh, the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own all 'cause you won't Listen."

I sang.

Harry's POV

I nearly cried hearing Cayden sing. He has a beautiful voice! I thought Ally and Julie were very good, but Cayden beat them both. I looked at Julie to see that she was crying. When he finished, she said, "Cayden, I haven't heard you sing in years. That was really good!" He blushed. "Hey, where's Ally?" Zayn said. We all looked around frantically. She's was nowhere to be found.

Ally's POV

He sung so perfectly. I was right, he is way better than I am. I was hiding in the bathroom away from everyone else. No wonder he got into LaGuardia so easily. "ALLY WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" I heard Niall scream. "COME OUT COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!!" Julie said. I wasn't gonna come out. Not for a long time... I'll be honest, I was jealous of Cayden. Singing is something that I love very much. It's something that I worked my hardest on. I feel like he took that away from me.
