The story of a girl who got abused by her brother, but she finds love when she meets Niall. Will their love be able to withstand all of the obstacles that are in their way?

2. Life at Niall's Flat

Niall's POV:

I finally got to my flat, and set the girl down on the couch. Then, I went over and locked the front door. I kneeled down beside the girl's feet. I looked at her ankle, but I didn't want to put any medicine or anything on it until she woke up, so she would be able to know what happened. So, I just bandaged it up and left her alone, so she could sleep.

Jessica's POV:

I woke up, expecting to see my dark bedroom at David's house, but found nothing like that. I was on a couch in a room that was filled with light, and I smelt... bacon? I suddenly  heard footsteps behind me and I turned around to see who it was. I saw a blond-haired, blue-eyed boy who was holding two plates of food.

I could tell that I was looking up at him with a scared expression, because he smiled and said, 'Don't worry." I relaxed a tiny bit because he sounded so kind, but David sounded 'kind' when he was younger... I was still on alert, however.

"Who are you?" I questioned, still a little scared.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that, since you're in my flat?" he joked. I looked around, strangely. "I'm Niall. I found you half-conscious in a mess of trees a few miles down from here." he said, pointing to his right. I blinked a few times before the memories from last night flooded into my mind like speeding cars along the highway. "What's your name?" he questioned me.

"J-Jessica." I stuttered, sitting up and getting a proper look around the place.

"Would you like something to eat, Jessica?" he asked me, politely. I nodded my head, slowly, realizing just how hungry I was. He just smiled (I noticed he had braces) and handed me a plate with eggs and bacon. I picked up the fork that was sitting on the side of the plate. I started eating the eggs.

When I finished eating, I started to get up to wash my dishes, but Niall took the plate from me, and when I looked up at him, he said, "I'll wash the dishes. You probably can't walk anyway." I looked down at my ankle, which was bandaged.

Niall came back a few minutes later. "I wanted you to be awake before I put medicine or anything on it." he told me, seeing that I was looking at my ankle. I nodded. "Would you like me to carry you to the bathroom, so we can put some medicine on your ankle?" he asked. My eyes got big. "I wouldn't ever hurt you." he assured me. I closed my eyes for a second, Niall waiting patiently, before nodding my head. He came over to me and picked me up like a little kid. I could see the braces shine in his gorgeous smile.

He set me down on the bathroom counter. He took a small bottle out of the cabinet. He, then, kneeled down in front of me, and put some of the medicine on a small rag.

Niall's POV:

I undid the bandages on her ankle. It looked swollen and I felt sorry for her. I touched the rag to her ankle and she flinched. "Sorry!" I exclaimed. Her eyes were closed, but she nodded. I gently put the rag on her skin and she stayed perfectly still. I re-bandaged her ankle.

I carried her back into the living room and set her down on the couch, once again. I asked her if she was okay and she responded with an, "I guess so." She was so cute, but now wasn't the time for that.

"Why were you there? You know, in the woods last night?" I questioned her and she hesitated before responding with, " It's a really long story." I could tell that she wasn't ready to tell me anything.

"You're more than welcome to stay here." I told her, but, to my great dismay, she replied, "I couldn't do that to you." "Yes you could." I urged her. She sat up, looking a little bit uncomfortable. I could tell that she was thinking about my offer.

"Okay, let me change that. You have to stay here." I joked. She smiled a cute little smile. "So you'll stay?" I questioned. The smile on her face vanished faster than a rocket ship, blasting off into outer space.

"I guess if it's not too much trouble for you." she answered uncomfortably. "Yes!!!" I thought. "Should I show you to your room?" I asked, excitedly. She had a confused expression on her face, so I answered, "The old guest bedroom." I stretched out on the word 'old'. She flashed her beautiful smile at me. I couldn't help but to smile back. As they say, 'smiles are contagious'.

I picked her up, yet again, and brought her upstairs. We came out to a long hallway. I turned to the left and brought her into what was going to be her room.

I kicked open the door, making her laugh a little bit, and as we emerged into the guest room, she gasped, "This room is huge!" I smiled as I set her down on her bed. She was so beautiful and her amazing smile was still spread widely across her face.

"I almost forgot something!" I yelled, making her flinch. 'Sorry!" I mumbled. "Stay right there. I'll be right back." I told her. I came back about a minute later, carrying her black leather purse that, no offense, looked more expensive than her whole outfit.

"Thank you so much!" she screamed, standing up.  I got worried when she stood up, like I cared so much about her, even though I had only just met her.

"No." I ordered, putting a hand on her shoulder and gently pushing her down. "Don't stand up. You might hurt yourself even more." I said to her. She smiled as I handed her the purse.

"I'll go make us some lunch, okay?" I asked, and when she said, "Okay." I kissed her cheek and left the room. She was just so beautiful, brave, and just...amazing.

Jessica's POV:

Niall left to make lunch and I was left alone in an overly large bedroom that was now mine. Niall was really cute. I didn't like have a crush on him or anything like that; I had just met him!

I looked around the room. There was a window covering almost a whole wall; a TV. The backboard of the bed was against the wall opposite of the door that led into the hall. I t was really beautiful here.

David was gone-well technically, I was gone, but the point is that he was out of my life. I wasn't going to get abused anymore. I wasn't going to have to be his personal slave anymore. I wouldn't have to see him ever again.

Niall came in a few minutes later, carrying a box of pizza and I asked, "Is this what you call 'making dinner'?" I felt this kind of comfort with Niall that I had never had around anybody else. He smiled and replied, " Somebody made it." he answered. I laughed; for the first time in almost two years, I laughed. He smiled, amazing, and he opened the box of pizza. Immediately, the aroma hit my nose and I breathed in deeply. I took a piece of pizza out of the box and took a bite out of it. I experienced an amazing taste that I hadn't had in like 2 years. I smiled. Niall took a bite of pizza as well.

Niall made me feel safe and secure. He treated me like nobody ever had before. He was amazing to me. He was also really beautiful; his blue eyes, perfect; his blond hair, gorgeous; he was just flawless...

Niall came back into the bedroom after he had thrown away the pizza box. He came over the bed and sat down beside me. With the remote, that was in his hand, he turned on the TV. We ended up watching some cartoon, talking, and just laughing. He was really funny.

Niall's POV:

Jessica was so beautiful. She had amazing blue-green eyes and great blond hair. She was sweet as well. I was looking at her. I was looking at her and I noticed that she had bruises on her face: under her eye, on her cheek, there was even one on her forehead.

"What happened?" I questioned her, putting my thumb over the bruise that was under her left eye. She turned her head to look at me.

'It's nothing." she said, putting her hand over mine and moving it away from her face. She turned to look at the TV. I knew that she was hiding something from me, but I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable, so I left it alone. She would eventually tell me what had happened.

I couldn't concentrate on the show at all; my eyes kept wandering to the bruises on Jessica's face. They didn't look like they were caused by her falling, but like somebody had intentionally hurt her. Who would want to hurt an angel like her? I couldn't imagine how cruel somebody would have to be to hurt such an innocent girl. She was just too loveable.

"How long have you lived here?" I heard Jessica's voice. It sounded so sweet.

"Just a few months." I answered her, turning my attention, once again, to her. She was looking at me as well. "How old are you?" I questioned her.

"18." she answered, "You?"

"19." I replied. We were both smiled.

"When's your birthday?" she asked me.

"September 13th. And yours?" I answered/asked

"October 19th." she answered. We both asked more questions like that and got more simple answers like that. We learned a lot about each other.

Jessica's POV:

Niall went downstairs to make some dinner, but  my guess was that he would order something. If I could walk, then I would be down there, making dinner for the two of us. Then, I realized that if I could walk, then I wouldn't be here; I wouldn't know Niall. I would probably be deep in the woods, starving. Niall had saved me.

It was getting pretty late and Niall told me, "You look really tired." and I yawned before answering, "I am." Niall got up and I moved under the covers of the bed that was now mine in the room that was now mine. "Goodnight." he said, turning of the light. "Night." I answered. "I'll be right across the hall if you ever need me." he told me as he closed the bedroom door behind himself.

I liked living here a heck of a lot more than David's.
