Take Care

**Sequel to What Humans Do**
It's been seven years since the day I told Harry Styles we had to break up because our publicity stunt was now over. He told me to wait till I was 26, then we could get back together and be happy. So, I waited. I waited until I got a phone call the day after my 26th birthday from Harry, inviting me to a wedding. HIS wedding, to be exact. I knew I had to get Harry back. I'm not going to let seven years of waiting be wasted. I needed him back. And so the plotting began.

5. Obsession

**Song Of The Chapter: Obsession by Sky Ferreira

The minute we arrived to the perfect italian home, I asked where my room was, which Lacie was more than happy to show me to. "I would get ready and cleaned up. In about an hour and a half we have to go to this dinner party with my family. It just for girls, though. The boys are going to watch a stupid football game." Lacie said from my doorway.

I turned around and saw how intently she was watching me. "Football is actually an interesting game. Do you know who's playing?"

"I'm not sure. They will be in a box seat, my dad owns the team so I know it's Serie A playing someone else. You can go after the dinner, if you'd like? I know Harry's step father will be there but his mom and sister will be at the dinner."

I smilied for two reason; I could go see a soccer game with Harry and I could also see Gemma and Ann. When Harry and I broke up, Ann and Gemma both texted and called me to make sure I was alright. They were even at the Olympics that year, supporting me. They were there the day that I won the gold and Harry ran over and kissed me. My family was shocked to see him there. Yeah, they came to the Olypmics to support me, even though they made it clear that Romania's team was really strong that year.

"I'd love to go to the game after the dinner. How should I dress? For the dinner, I mean?"

She walked over to my open suitcase and began to shift things around. She picked up a brown dress that was sleeveless with a lacey neckline and stopped above my knees. To go with the dress, she found a pair of matching brown peep toe shoes. Normally, I really hated peep toed shoes because I hate my feet (gymnastics and ballet lessons are certainly written on them), I do love these shoes. They are booties, which makes it way easier to walk in them.

She handed them to me and said 'this should do' and left. Something was up with her. She was fine in front of Harry, but then she turned to be a smidge creepy. I just shrugged my shoulders and began to get changed. I wasn't on the plan for very long, so it's not like I had much to do, just reapply and fix my hair a little. My hair was longer now, about to my midback, but it was still curly. That was fine with me, my hair wasn't very frizzy for it's curls.

After I finished with everything and slipped my heels on, I left my room and walked down the stairs. I heard murmers that stopped when my heels began to clink along the stair case. Harrys head poked out from around the wall and he smiled broadly. "Rue, you look beautiful!"

"What? Rue's here? Why didn't you tell me?" I heard another voice say, only more feminine.

Harry ignored the unknown voice and walked up the stairs to meet me half way. I felt almost numb knowing that he meant that as a friend, nothing more. I had been numb for seven years, all I wanted was to feel again.

"Why are you so dressed up? And when did your hair get so long?"

"I'm the maid of honor, I have to go to the dinner thing. And it's been like this for about a year now?"

His already big smile grew more and he laughed a bit. He stood there and stared at me for a few seconds and I stared back. He was about to say something when we heard someone clear their throat at the bottom of the stair case, leaning on the wall. I heard Harry sigh loudly as I directed my attention towards the source of the noise and saw Gemma. She had a goofy grin on her face. She had kept in touch with me and we grew extremely close over the seven years and she was always Team Rue, as she put it.

"Gemma! I haven't seen you in forever! I've missed you!" I exclaim as I quickly moved down the stairs to hug her.

"I know! I see you've been doing fine?" She looks over my shoulder and I give her a confused look. I turned my body around a little and saw Harry was standing on the stairs still, glaring at Gemma.

"Harry, are you alright?"

His head snapped towards me and he smilied again. "Nope, nothings wrong. Do you have to go to the dinner party? You can come with me to the game, you know?"

I smilied at his offering, and no matter how much I wanted to go, I knew I couldn't. I may not like Lacie, but I was her maid of honor, none the less. I had a committment. Unfortunatly.

"I'm sorry, Harry, but I have to go. I told Lacie I would. I'll be coming to the game later. I can't miss a free match!" He laughed along with Gemma and I, but when the laughter died down, which was quickly, it became awkward. Harry was still in the middle of the stair case.

He scratched the back of his head and said "I think I'll go and see what's taking so long with Lacie." He turned and continued up the stair and down the hall on the right. I sighed a small bit, hoping Gemma wouldn't hear, but she did.

She turned to face me with a look of pity written on her face. "I'm sorry, Rue. I know you waited for him. He waited for you, too, but... I just don't know what happened. I can tell he doesn't love her like he loves you. He doesn't look at her the he looks at you, touch her the way he touches you, anything. We must do something to break them up. Her perfection is maddening. And I've always wanted you as a sister-in-law!"

She spoke in a hushed tone so no one would hear, but as her words continued a smile appeared on my lips. At least I wan't the only one who thought it. "So? What do you say? Want Harry back or let him marry little miss perfect up there?" She asked with an eager look on her face.

Gemma was normally a pretty calm person, but was protective over her brother. "I'm in."

Her pretty face turned upwards into an evil yet playful grin and I knew she was serious.
