If today was your last day.

Kenzie and Liam are just two young kids in love, but what happens when Kenzie's past comes back to haunt her? Will Liam be there to help?

11. Arrival.

Nialls POV.
Technically, I was the first to wake up in the morning. Liam was awake when I got up, but he never went to sleep. He was sitting on the end of the bed with his hands holding his head. I knocked on his cracked door. "Liam? How long have you been up?" I asked walking in to the room. He fake chuckled. "Didn't sleep." he shrugged off. I sighed, walked over and sat next to him. "Today we leave." I reminded. He sighed. "Niall, you don't have to go. It's going to be dangerous and I don't want you guys to be hurt." he said, looking over at me. "Liam, we are going with you. You said it yourself, it's dangerous, so why would we let you go by yourself? We are all going and we will not come back without Kenzie." I told him. He smiled for a second, then looked back down to the ground. I put my arm around his back and asked him if he was ready for the trip. "Emotionally, no. But I'm ready as ever." he replied. "I honestly don't know how we are going to do this. Me and Lou tried to figure out how to get in, but we don't even how they set up security or which room she is or anything." he says. I don't know how he does it, but he has the power to make me cry. I feel tears, but I blink and push them back. "I know, Liam. It's hard, but when we get her, it won't matter how we did it." I replied. "But what if don't get her? What if we can't get her, or if one of us gets hurt?" he asks. It took me a minute to think of what to say back. "Don't ask the what-ifs. If we would have asked what-ifs, we wouldn't even know eachother. There wouldn't be a One Direction." I finally replied, satisfied with the answer. He was getting ready to respond, when Harry knocked on the door. "Sorry to interrupt guys, but we leave in an hour. We have to get down there." he said. Me and Liam got up and walked out to the living room. Louis was texting and Zayn was under a blanket. "Ready?" I asked. Everyone nodded, and we set off. In the hallway, we said bye to the band and Olly before we left.

When we reached the helicopter, we were in a open field with no fans around. We said goodbye to Paul and Preston and climbed into the helicopter. I sat next to Liam, directly across from Harry and Zayn and across the isle from Louis. After we got up in the air, we were allowed to move around. Me, Liam, Harry, and Zayn stayed in place but Louis came and sat on the floor in-between Liam and me, and Harry and Zayn. Liam stared out the window, causing us all to mouth words, trying not to bother him. Harry kept cocking his head back and forth towards Liam's direction. And everytime he would do it, I shrugged, and pointed to my ear, hinting I had no clue what he was telling me to do. Louis cleared his throat to make us both stop, and Liam looked down at him. Louis put his best smile on and winked. Liam flashed a small smile back, then faced the window again. "Well, I'm going to sleep." Zayn announced, cocking his hat over his face. We laughed, thinking it was a joke, but two minutes later, he was dead asleep. For most of the ride, we sat in silence exchanging looks. Finally, Liam fell asleep, too. His head against the window. "I feel terrible. He's devastated." Louis said, staring at him. "Wouldn't you be if anything happened to El?" Harry asked. Louis nodded. "I understand why, but he's not Liam right now. He's showing a side we hardly ever see of him." he said. "He is worried we won't find her. I tried my hardest to get him to stop worrying at least a small bit, bit there is only so much you can say to reassure somebody your going to find a missing person who means the world to you." I explained. "Do you believe it?" Louis asked me. "Believe what?" I asked back, lost at what he was asking. "Believe we will find her and get her safely back?" he explained. I has to think about it. "Yeah, I guess. We may just be five regular boys, up against evil, but I'm willing to fight to get Kenzie back. We are a team, and together, we will get her back." I replied, getting more and more confident as the speech went along. "Wow. That had to be the most meaningful speech I've heard all day." Harry said, causing me and Louis to smile. I looked over at Zayn and saw his eyes peaking out of the bottom of his hat. "So anyway, being a eavesdropper is just one of the reasons I don't like Zayn." I announced. Harry and Louis looked at me funny, confused, until Zayn said "Hurtful!" We all laughed, surprisingly Liam was still asleep. Zayn looked over at him. "Wow, he must be tired." he said. "He didn't sleep last night. He stayed up thinking about her. I was going to wake him up, he needs sleep." I told them. They agreed, so we let him sleep. We talked about different things, from recent things that happened to us to what was soon to happen, slowly, I also fell asleep.

Kenzie's POV.
I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. I looked around. The room was empty besides a glass of water and some eggs and toast on a tray in the middle of the floor. My hands were untied, so I casually got up and sat down in front of the food. I didn't want to eat it, just knowing my father had anything to do with it, but the food made me noticed something. I was starving. I took the fork and scooped up some eggs, but when I looked down, I noticed how red and scared my wrist were. Rope burn. I think back to my dream last night. It was the same nightmare I have had many times before, the one about my mother dying, but this time, she wasn't the one dying, Liam was. I think back to how I squirmed when it was me and Liam back at home before this whole mess, and how he would wake me and hold me and brush the back of my head with his hands. When my arms were tied down, I couldn't throw them around and scream, because I was locked in a chair. I took a few more bites of the food and a few sips of water, but after thinking about my dream, I lost all my appetite. I kept moving the necklace in-between my fingers. It hurt to think about him and the boys. How I might never see them again. I kept finding myself thinking of Liam. His voice, his face, his music, everything. I held the necklace in my closed fist. I felt tears coming, but I had no juice left to cry. Felt drowsy, and had a major headache that blurred my vision. I put my head in my hand, for some sort of support. I looked down at the water and tried to reach it, but my hand went the total opposite direction. I felt top heavy, head falling every way. I fell over, hands under my head as it fell over. I was laying on the ground, blinking heavily. "Don't fall asleep, don't fall asleep." I kept repeating. "don't let go." Suddenly, I blinked and sat up, completely fine. I was wearing a long yellow dress, but I was still in the room. I sat there, patting my dress and twirling my hair, until a tall, beautiful figure was standing at the door. It wasn't my father. It wasn't Liam. It was my mother. She came closer and I noticed she was also wearing a dress, hers blue with flannel. I stood up and smiled at her. She kept walking and smiling back. She kept saying something, but I could only see her mouth moving. Finally, she got right in front of me and we leaned in and hug. I didn't want to pull away, but she did. She smiled and mouthed the same thing. "What?" I asked with a smile on my face and slightly tilting my head. Finally, her voice came through and said "Kenzie." Except, it want her voice. It was a man, who at first I didn't recognize, but she said it again, and this time I recognized it. It was Liam saying "Kenzie, just wake up."
