The M Factor: It's Now or Never

Love and war do not mix well together. The M Factor competition is all-out war, as talented people from all over the continent compete for the chance of a lifetime. I still don't know how I am even here, among the talented. Love isn't something that you could merely push away. It isn't a feeling you could just ignore. Which is why I struggle between the balance of love and war. Which will win in the end?

"Here's to Addison Carter, for making me a heck of a lot of money," Simon Cowell joked, holding his wine glass up, attention drawn by every body in the room. Everybody laughed politely. "And for having so much talent, and a strong love for music to get her through all of this. To Addison!"

"To Addison!" The rest of the people at all of the separate circle tables scattered around the room called, clinking their glass and sipping at the champagne. From the corner of my eye, I saw Kat silently coughing on the champagne. I let out a silent giggle, when Kat turned to face me. She shot me disgusted look, shaking her head in hatred. I laughed, longing to be over there.

Up on a huge altar, shining in the spotlight, was my first album, named Trouble. Yes, this was what the party was for.

"You want to go over there, don't you," Tulisa, who sat next to me, whispered in my ear, gesturing to the table full of my friends.

"You know me too well," I giggled.

"Go. I'll explain it to Simon. Have fun-it's your night," said Tulisa.

    "Thanks- you're awesome," I thanked.

"I've heard it before," she joked. "Now go before I change my mind."

I slipped away from the table, not drawing anybody's attention. I scampered over to the table full of idiots- I mean my friends. At the moment, Eddy was whining over his bubbling water, full of salt and pepper, and, well, anything the guys could find to dump into it.

"Champagne is disgusting." was the first thing Kat said to me as I pulled over a chair and sat next to her.

"Tell me about it. At least you don't have to pretend to like it," I scowled. "And I'll be doing the same thing to you at your album party."

Yes, Kat had gotten signed on, since Louis thought she was way too good to let go. Eagle Lane and Jace had also gotten signed onto the record label, so I would be attending all of their parties.

"You look beautiful," Jace murmured in my ear, making me blush.

"Why, thank you, kind sir," I mocked. He scowled and laughed at my awkwardness.

"Aw, you guys are so cute together!" Tammi cooed.

"Quite frankly, I think it's disgusting," Kat joked. I slapped her on her elbow playfully, causing as all to laugh.

The people surrounding me taught me the meaning of love. This wasn't the end of me, as there were thousands of people who wanted my album.

I made it. And I couldn't have done it without love.
