The M Factor: It's Now or Never

Love and war do not mix well together.

The M Factor competition is all-out war, as talented people from all over the continent compete for the chance of a lifetime. I still don't know how I am even here, among the talented.

Love isn't something that you could merely push away. It isn't a feeling you could just ignore. Which is why I struggle between the balance of love and war.

Which will win in the end?

16. A Break From The Drama

"Oh my gosh, please!" Kat begged like a crazy person. Gil shushed her, swatting her hip, completing it with a defeated, "Fine."

Kat, Tanya and I pushed past the boys and ran into Victoria's Secret, gushing about all of the cute clothes (talking about the shirts and sweatpants). Eddy, as a joke, ran in with his hands covered over his eyes, battle-crying. Gil and Jace followed after him, laughing at him. The girls and I hunted through the store, eyeing every product down. We dispersed out of the group, so recruits were placed all around the store. As I was walking towards Tanya to show her the cute shirt I found, when I was scared out of my wits by Jace, popping out at me with a pink polka dot bra secured around his hat, like a hat. My immediate thought was to smack him, but before I could make any move, I bursted out into laughter. Jace and I were laughing for quite some time, before we finally slowed to a stop. I pulled out my iPhone and snapped a picture secretly, pretending to text someone.

The rest of us met up at the register, loading our purchases onto the registry table. The cashier checked out all of our items, wrapping and gently placing them in separate bags. We gathered the bags and walked out, being smacked with the fresh London air.

"I really needed this," I sighed, embracing the varieties of people and places.

    "We all did," Gil added.

We continued up the sidewalk, occasionally stopping for stores. We chatted about pretty much everything, from funny stories to favorite celebrities. Not once, however, did we mention the X-Factor. It was a subject sharply avoided constantly, since that was what our lives revolved around now.

Something big happened, then. Something huge, that wouldn't be the last time. Something that made this journey complete. We were in Jack Wills, walking as a group through the aisles and judging the clothes, when all the sudden I heard from behind me a shaky gasp, with vigorous murmurings.

    "I don't know if that's them..."

    "Go up to them...."

"You can't just walk up to them..."

    "...Go..."

    "Why me? You go..."

"Excuse me?" a louder, shaky voice called from behind us. We all spun around, in slight unison, facing three girls who looked awestruck, admiring our features.

    "Yeah?" Kat asked.

"Can we get one picture?" the third and shortest girl squeaked, holding out her iPod. I'm pretty sure all of our jaws dropped to the floor, as both groups stood, staring at awe in one another.

"Of course!" Kat beamed, practically sprinting over to them. We all followed, posing with each of them for the camera. Jace and Eddy were in deep conversations with two of the girls, who were fangirling like mad people. Gil joined them, and one of the girls remembered him.

"I have an Eagle Lane shirt!" one of the girls squealed.

"I am totally in love with you, Jace," the other girl standing by them admitted. Jace just smiled and told her he loved her too. The girl got thrilled with this idea and began jumping up and down, tears brewing in her eyes.

"Do you guys fancy each other?" the girl talking to Tanya, Kat, and I wondered. Kat bursted out into laughter at the coincidence, but I just shook my head, lying.

"No love," Tanya lied through her teeth, trying not to laugh.

"How could you not love this!" Eddy exclaimed, making the girls go crazy.

"Easy," Tanya shrugged. The girls laughed, before a woman appeared behind them.

"Girls, come on, we have to- hey isn't that the boy all over your walls?" the woman said, pointing to Eddy.

"Mum!" the girl whined. The mum shrugged, pulling them away as they called their goodbyes.

"That was insane!" Jace exclaimed, excitement lighting up his eyes.

    "Incredible."
