It started with a dream

This is the story of a 16 year old girl called India, she lives in Portugal with her mum and her brother Alex, her dad used to be solder but he died in combat.
Her life is quite calm, until the day she received a letter from the olympic comity, and she is invited to participate at the 2012 olympic games.
Hope you like it

4. Start packing

- please tell me this is not one of your sick jokes... - i said talking to Alex, Andy and Jerome.

if it was, i have no idea of what i would do, i would stop talking to them and turn all my anger to them, i would never forgive them and when i say never, its really never.

this had been my dream since Joe fist told me i had potential to be one of the best, that was the moment where it all started to me, i started picturing myself in every big tournament and training my self to the maximum, but after last year... i tough i was never going to get a letter like this ever again.

last year, had been a year full of marking events to me, first, and the one with biggest matter, my father died, leaving me a reck and the second one was an invitation to participate at the wimbledon tournament, which i refused. today, i'm disappointed at myself for saying no, i lost the game of my life, without even playing.

everyone understood my decision except me, at the time i just wanted to be alone but at the same time, i knew that it was the only thing that could make me happy now that my father was gone, the only thing that brought the happy India into the picture...

-India - Joe said while placing his hand over my shoulder - does this look like some kind of a joke? - he asked pointing to everyone and to the living room.

i nodded no and started to fell tears forming in my eyes, when my brother hugged me.

-ohh! she's so happy she's crying! - he said mocking me and hugging me so tight that for a few seconds i couldn't breath.

- let go of her, or i'll have no one to take to the olympic games - Joe said pushing Alex from me, in a playful way.

i looked around to everyone's face and noticed my mum hadn't say a word since i had arrived, i walked over to her and hugged her placing my hand on her shoulder and smiling when felling her arms around me.

-i'm very proud of you - my mum said, breaking our hug and taking the hair of my face.

-thanks mum - i said smiling to her.

the rest of the night went fast, my mum took me to the bathroom to clean my wounds and to put a bandage on the biggest ones, then we went back to the living room to eat my "congrats" cake and after that everyone went home and me, my mum and Alex went to bed.

i closed my room door and sat in my bed with a stupid smile in my face, my body still hurt but the joy was so big that it kinda eased the pain, i know its stupid but thats how i fell...

i ran to my computer and looked for the olympic website, searched for the start of the games, it was four days from tomorrow, that only meant one thing to me, i had to start packing.

and for a change, i was really looking for it! i slowly took my bag from inside my closet and started to put some clothes inside it but suddenly it was like every drop of energy i had on my body had been sucked and the only thing i wanted was to get inside my warm and comfy bed.

i walked over to my bed and laid down, without even bothering to change into my night-cloth and falling asleep with a silly smile on my lips, i was felling good, proud of my self and most of all looking forward to go, to meet everyone, if they told me i could go right now, i would get my things in just a few seconds and go without thinking twice!
