Living Up to The Chance

Charlotte has had many chances to change her life around, but never followed through. changing schools and meeting new people will allow for more chances to come up, including one to be close to the most famous five boys in the world, will she live up to the chance?

2. The Chance to Change

When the train stopped at the connector, I ran to go find him. It was then that I saw my best friend leaning on the cement wall, waiting. I took a deep breath and prepared to break the news. I approached the boy before me. He was quite tall, tan, and had beautiful hair, dark brown eyes, and a smile I could look at for hours. I didn't like him though, that was a fact. He is just a really close friend. A best friend. And this would be the hardest news I had to break. He turned.

"Elle!" He said running over to give me a hug. It lasted what seemed like hours and he finally let go. "Zayn!" I said trying hard to hide my sadness. He stopped suddenly and looked my straight in the eye. "Elle...?" He paused. "Whats wrong?" He asked, his hands on my shoulders. "Zayn, we need to talk, about school." He took my hand and walked me to the bench on the other end of the station. "What's going on?" Zayn asked, looking concerned. I sighed, "Zayn, I got accepted to a prestigious music school in Cheshire, and I'm going." He stopped and looked me in the eye, making me want to burst into tears. "You mean, your leaving?" He asked, looking as depressed as I did. I nodded. He paused for a moment and then said, "We will still be able to see each other though, right?" I sighed, "I don't know, I have to keep my grades up to stay in that school so I won't have much free time..."

It was then that a regretted ever saying that. I regretted ever bringing the subject up, or going to the school in Bradford instead of the one in Bath, or striking up a conversation with the boy with the nice hair on the first day of school. I regretted taking the chance of him not wanting anything to do with me on that day, but he did. He wanted to talk to me, he wanted me to stay at that school, he wanted to be my friend, and I took the chance, and now its all falling apart. Its all changing right in front of my eyes. the life I spent three years building up, was breaking back down.

And as Zayn and I took the next train to the school I realized something. I could have said no. I could have stayed at this school, stayed with Zayn. I didn't have to leave it all behind, but I took the chance. I took the chance and changed the life I was living. Zayn and I rode the whole way there not talking until we stepped off the train. "OK, that was some sad news," I nodded in agreement. "But that only means we have less time with each other, so lets make the most of it, ok?" Looking into Zayn's eyes, and knew he was serious. "OK." I said, trying to act somewhat cheerful, although, I was leaving tomorrow. But I left that part out.
